There was also the invisible battle sprite, which would electrocute anyone causing problems. It wasn’t strong, especially against toughened-level people and above, but it certainly still hurt as heck.

Fortified-level fighters would describe it in a way Finn would describe accidentally touching the pin of an electric plug, but removing the point of contact a second later. It wasn’t lethal, nor would there be real injuries, but no one wanted to feel it!

Speking of fortified-level fighters, the newly fortified-stage tank, Durgan, helped out at first, but every so often, like when his stats were low and he needed to rest, he would help out in the blacksmithy as well.

They might have a lot of supplies and the merchant guild donated a number of weapons so the strain on him wasn’t too harsh, but they were finite resources in the end.

The other blacksmiths were even busier. Unlike Durgan, who could help more since he was at fortified level, their main contributions could only be on the weapons. With them working around the clock, just going on shifts for rest, then the people there had no worries about their weapons breaking and could go all-out in their battles without worrying too much about durability.

Micc’s assignment was hybird. He would spend an hour or two before meal time to cook, and the rest to help out with the fights.

It was a good pace because whenever he lost mana from fighting, he could go back to the inn and do his job as a cook and get recovered by the inn’s regeneration as well.

Finn developed a leavened bread similar to Naan. It was bread that expanded slightly in the stomach, making one feel bloated. It was also filled with spices so it was also delicious and easy to prepare.

Micc mastered this early on, so there was no lack of this. This one, along with some fillings, were some of the items sold by the goblins running around.

Haurus was not strong, only awakened and he was not a mage, and he was much more useful in the Potions store, ensuring that it always had stocks. While it was still early and people had their stocks, those might not last the entire mob.

Not far from Finn’s area was the Ren Trio’s area as well as the forces they brought with them. Their strategy was similar to what Finn’s group did.

For the close combats, they preferred the areas with angles resembling a mouth. When they had to go out, sometimes it was difficult to jump back or turn their bodies, and sometimes the inertia made them have to keep moving forward. How dangerous would it be if ‘forward’ was deeper into monster mobs?

One of the people often outside was Ren, the assassin type. He made use of his speed, which was further built upon by his wind affinity and special skills. Along with him were his guards, guarding him while also hacked on the monsters around them.

They were assisted by the mages and archers. The mages were Arthur and Ravin, and the archer was Leiah. Arthur was also the primary force in burning carcasses, while his brother Ravin was in charge of using his skills to make the cores roll into the barrier.

Other than this practical use, Ravin’s ice was mostly aggressive. Spikes of ice would appear from below to stab the monsters. If it didn’t kill them, it’d keep them in position for a few moments allowing Ren—who could travel meters quickly—to head there and finish them off.

The twins’ guards, Ignus and Thea, joined Ren’s group in heading out, stabbing and slashing and taking down monster after monster as efficiently as possible.

This battle was long, people generally avoided overusing their skills. Unless their skill was AoE, it was better to head out and target accurately like this.

This type of efficient thinking, along with the inn’s increased regeneration rates, would ensure that people would remain safe and productive even after a week of fighting.

Normally, in most towns, the death count would’ve passed a thousand by the first week. In the Inn, it was estimated that—unless they got too careless—there might be only a few casualties, if at all, in the same time period.

Speaking of, Arthur and Ravin actually brought a few cousins here. These jerks had seen their improvements and their records and been pestering them to spill since they arrived.

So when the twins found out the Aphelion phase was coming, the two of them decidedly dragged their unwitting cousins along.

When they arrived, the cousins were very very shocked, and when they were surrounded by mobs (and not dying), they were even more shocked.

They had to be slapped at the back of their heads to gather their wits and only then did they start fighting. However, while they cleaved and hacked, their hearts were filled with fervent admiration to the brave people killing monsters so ‘openly’ like this.

Hours later, people who were often outside like Ren, collected quite a few injuries. Ren’s was nothing compared to others of course, it was just that the moment he entered the barrier, he felt warm energy surrounding him and all of his wounds were healed.

His eyebrows rose and he looked at Princess Claire, who looked away and started healing others. She had her chin up, defiantly ignoring his stare, and his lips twitched.

Aaron and Zachary, the ‘collateral’ heals, somehow saw this interaction and wanted to tease Ren.

However—ROAAR—the monsters right behind them were too distracting, and they soon headed back out after taking a few bites of food.

The battle was long, and the young lads were determined to join every bit of it!
