Chapter 472: A Strange Dream

Primrose couldn’t clearly remember what had really happened to her. The last thing she recalled was Nina accidentally—though clearly on purpose—knocking the old music box to the floor until it shattered.

“Yes, Lady Solene,” Dr. Celdric replied with a calm sigh. “I can see that too.”

Dr. Alina stepped closer and spoke gently, trying to soothe her. “Lady Solene, why don’t you wait outside for a while? We’ll take care of Her Majesty.”

“What? No!” Solene shook her head at once. “I can’t leave her. His Majesty told me to stay by her side, no matter what happens.”

“Then please…” Dr. Alina said softly, though her tone was still firm. “Please lower your voice. Her Majesty needs peace and quiet.”

Solene immediately pressed her lips together, finally realizing that she had been shouting nonstop. On the other side of the room, Nina was still standing there as well.

Her face had gone slightly pale. [Thank goodness she finally woke up! Damn it, I really thought I’d accidentally killed Her Majesty!]

“What?!” Primrose’s eyes widened in disbelief. Without thinking, she grabbed her wedding ring, certain that Edmund must have heard those words too. “H-How could that happen? Was it because of my pregnancy? Doctor, is my baby alright?”

Dr. Celdric spoke calmly, trying to reassure her. “For now, we still don’t know the exact cause. But please don’t worry, your baby is safe, Your Majesty.”

Then, he added softly, “But your chest may feel sore because we had to press on it earlier to stimulate your heart to beat again.”

Primrose placed her hand over her chest and winced softly. It really did hurt when she touched her ribs.

“If that’s what needs to be done, then it’s alright, Doctor,” Primrose said. “But… something like this has never happened to me before.”

Primrose didn’t even have any hereditary illness that could suddenly cause her heart to stop like that. In her last life, someone had to poison her before she died, so how could it be that, in this timeline, she almost lost her life because… what?

“You’re alive,” he said while letting out a sigh of relief.
