Amon didn’t wait for even a second. He walked toward the edge and knelt down to wash his face.

“She’s not holding back at all!” he muttered.

Scarlett tilted her head slightly. “You told me to bite you.”

“That was clearly a joke! Also, this is not biting!”

She dashed again.

This time Amon didn’t try to meet her head-on.

He commanded his shadow.

The shadow beneath his feet rippled like liquid ink. It slithered across the ground toward the incoming Scarlett. Just as she closed the distance.

The shadow rose violently from the earth, twisting upward like a living serpent. It wrapped around both of her ankles mid-step.

The shadow was reinforced with his darkness. So the grasp was solid and strong.

She stopped abruptly. For a few seconds. Scarlett looked down.

Amon smirked. “Got you.”
