Roland leaned back against his chair, folding his hands under his chest. His sharp eyes moved toward the pale man standing before them.

“So now… tell me how we are going to get out of this place, Vetaal.”

Vetaal smiled lightly, his pale face looking almost eerie under the dim light.

Once it’s done, I have to provide all of them with mana at the same time and activate them. Thus those towers would appear… or rather be pulled out by those magic structures.”

“You all will help me. You guys have to transfer a huge amount of mana into me, while I will transfer it to those patterns.”

Ria nodded slowly.

Roland finally nodded with a serious expression.

“Alright. Then for now it’s settled. We will prepare our villagers first. We need to make them ready for it.”

Everyone in the room slowly nodded in agreement.

Amon glanced toward Scarlett briefly. She also looked toward him for a moment before returning her attention to Roland.

Then Roland looked toward them. “Amon and Scarlett.”

Both of them straightened slightly. They have been silent since Vetaal started to tell them, the way to escape.

“You can go now. Let us handle this matter about how to convince the villagers and make them ready for the future.”

Amon nodded. “Alright.”

Scarlett also gave a slight nod in agreement.

Roland then added one more thing while looking toward Vetaal. “Also keep Vetaal with you guys.”

Amon blinked slightly in surprise. Scarlett also glanced toward Roland briefly.

Roland continued calmly. “I believe in you… and him.”

Vetaal smiled widely after hearing those words.

Amon scratched the back of his head with a small grin. “As you say, Uncle Roland.”

Amon, Vetaal, and Scarlett left Roland’s house. But the others were still seated inside the living room.

A brief silence settled in the room after the door closed.

Ria leaned slightly forward in her chair, her brows furrowed as she looked toward Roland.

“Do you… really believe in that undead man? That Vetaal?” she finally asked after hearing Roland’s last words earlier.

Roland slowly turned his head toward her. His expression remained calm, but his eyes looked thoughtful.

After a moment, he gently shook his head. “No… I do not. But one thing is sure. He is telling the truth.”

Kael raised a brow slightly, curiosity appearing on his face.

“Oh… if he is telling the truth, why do you not believe in him?” he asked.

Roland leaned back slightly in his chair, folding his arms as he spoke in a calm but serious tone.

“Why do I not believe him? We do not know his origin… why he was trapped here… why he was sealed. Who is the one who did this to him?”

He paused briefly before continuing. “And more than anything… what is he?”

Roland’s eyes narrowed slightly. “I have never seen anyone like him. He is not like any undead used by necromancers. He doesn’t look like a human… nor does he resemble any other race.”

Malphas slowly nodded while stroking his long white beard thoughtfully. “That’s true.”

His old eyes turned slightly sharper. “I don’t know if he is alive or half-dead… but one thing I am sure of… he is not a human.”

The room became quiet again.

Malphas looked toward the door through which Amon and the others had left. Then he continued in a calm but serious voice.

“He is something else… something that we have no idea about. We cannot even forced on him…to asked this questions. His heart is not even beating. So when he said he can’t die here…he was telling truth. All we can do is…try what he said.”

He slowly tapped his cane once on the floor. “Still we need to be cautious. He is like an ancient being… there is no way someone like him would be simple in any way.”

The others slowly nodded in agreement with Malphas’s words.

Ria crossed her arms, her expression still cautious but slightly calmer.

Kael exhaled slowly and rubbed the back of his neck.

Silvan, who had been leaning against the wall the whole time, straightened slightly.

Roland finally spoke again, his voice firm. “For now… we have gotten a lead to break through this place.”

He looked at everyone present in the room. “Then we must give it our all.”

Malphas nodded in agreement. “You are right.”

Roland gave a firm nod. “Let’s work together… to get free from this loop.”
