Chapter 380: Centipede

At the eastern side of forest, the battle was still ongoing.

Deep in the forest, slightly away from the tower, Amon continued fighting alone.

His sword pierced through another giant spider, the blade entering straight through its head before he pulled it out in one swift motion. Black blood splashed across the ground as the monster collapsed.

At the same time, his dark flying axe spun through the air behind him.

It crushed the skull of a flying humanoid monster, sending the body crashing into a tree.

Amon extended his hand slightly, and the black hatchet flew back toward him before hovering near his shoulder, ready to strike again.

His eyes widened as he spun mid-air. And then he saw it.

Below him, a massive mouth was wide open.

It was waiting for Amon to come down. Rows of long, sharp teeth filled the circular maw.

A deep, horrifying screech echoed from below.

It was a monster.

A gigantic centipede-like creature.

Its body was long, very long. More than thirty meters. Maybe near forty meters.

Its body was covered in dark armored plates, and dozens of long, sharp legs moved rapidly along its sides.

Its head was enormous, with huge mandibles and a circular mouth filled with rotating teeth.

It had tried to swallow him whole the moment it emerged from the ground.

Amon was still falling in the air. Straight toward its mouth.

“Fuck this shit,” he said in a low voice.

He did not panic. He immediately stretched his hand to the side.

He commanded the black hatchet covered with shadow and darkness to come back.

The black hatchet that had been flying in the distance instantly changed direction and flew toward him at high speed.

In mid-air, Amon caught the black hatchet firmly.

It was simple. To pull him forward. The hatchet suddenly shot forward, dragging Amon’s body through the air with it.

His body moved forward sharply, changing his falling direction.

He didn’t move very far, since he was not capable of making his hatchet covered with his abilities to make him fly with it.

But it was enough. Just enough to be safe. Instead of falling into the centipede’s mouth, he fell past it.

People were away from Amon and the monster. They were standing near the tower. They were shocked and felt fear at the sight.

Meanwhile, Amon tightened his grip on his sword in his right hand while holding the hatchet in his left hand.

“He’s a lot stronger than other monsters,” he muttered quietly.

The ground trembled again as the massive centipede began moving toward him.

Amon did not move back. He was intimidated by it… but still he wouldn’t run away.

He stepped forward. Shadow wrapped around his legs, mana also reinforced them. He dashed forward by kicking off the ground. Small cracks appeared on the ground where he was standing.

The monster opened its mouth.

SKRRRREEEEEEEEEEE!!

With a loud scream, it lunged at Amon.

He didn’t waste any time. Bending his knees, he jumped as high as possible.

Its mouth shattered the ground where Amon was standing just a few seconds ago.

Amon tried to move, but something came between him and the centipede-type monster.

Long crimson hair flew beautifully with the wind as she stood between Amon and the monster.
