Chapter 119: Chapter 118: Finishing Archyon

“Hey Carl, I know you said you want to be alone, but we have a mental link anyway so it’s impossible for me to leave you alone. Do you mind?”

“Hey Sis. Nah, I’m only being childish anyway… Did you hear my question?”

“Hardly childish, everyone through a heap of life changing stuff at you, right after Ishtar’s diary became known to you, right after Mum was nearly killed. You’re allowed to take a breather and yes. It seems you just figured out how to use divinity to open a realm gate organically.”

“Not really sure about that, it was an accident…”

“Typical, tell everyone that and they might go into an existential crisis. Anyway, I’m just here to help you with the design, this place is gonna be for a female species.”

Carl chuckled then got to work. “Tell you what, if you aren’t utterly captivated by the home I make for the the fox spirits, you get to ask me for anything.”

“Anything? Fine… If you need my help at all, I want you to help me find Ishtar’s diary for my sake.” Sis was wearing a face that begged Carl not to ask about it.

“Okay, if I need your help I’ll help you find it.”

Carl then set to work, no expense was spared, no detail left unattended…

The first thing Carl did, was increase the planet’s mass and stabilize its poles, orbit and rotation.

The second thing he did was shield the outer barrier in a transmuting barrier, just in time to defend the planet from one of the regular meteor strikes, turning the flaming ball of rock into the same cherry blossom petals that fell infinitely at her sanctuary.

“Okay, that barrier was expensive.”

“Need a break?”

“Nope, I’ll just give up all my MP as I work. I need to give this my all.”

“Okay, Bro, are you exiling her?”

“No, I’m not, I’m apologising for being so oblivious and rubbing my relationship with Klaire in her face.”

“Ah…”

“No, I’m not talking about anything else Sis.” Carl chuckled as she sulked at the lack of gossip.

The next thing he did was create four flawless silver moons that would hang in the sky permanently and then filled the sky between them with a deep blue, through which no stars shone.

He then erased the existing forward base and replaced it with buildings the same eastern style that he had seen Kon’s family occupying.

The entire planet was coated in shallow lakes that perfectly mirrored the sky above, marred only by gentle ripples that spread out from cherry blossom petals, fields of emerald, neatly-trimmed grass, and planned forests of cherry blossom trees.

Amongst the buildings spread out were, self maintaining bath houses, nurseries and meeting halls. Of course all the basic facilities were present, including housing and medical buildings and then Carl, looked around.

“Just one more building left to make, can you go tell everyone I’ll be back shortly? Oh and don’t worry, I’ll help you find the diary.”

Sis smiled and hugged him, then disappeared, clearly making use of Tiamutael’s abilities.

“Guess I better make a place for Kyubi, Klaire and I to call home.”

The “home” was built around the buildings Kon taught him about in their downtime after he took an interest in the eastern architecture. It was a type of building called a gotei, spread out and traditionally the residence of nobility.

It was laid out with enough rooms for the entire family to have their own room, one thing that Carl had made sure to do, was synthesise materials by merging the the common building materials of the architecture with the succubus-sense blocking materials and soundproofing.

’I really hope people understand it’s just a precaution. I don’t want them getting the wrong idea.’

Carl then sighed and rubbed his hair aggressively as though trying to rub away the nervous thoughts.

“Damn it! Why couldn’t we have just created our own damn realm before things got complicated!” Saying it out loud was surprisingly relieving and he took one more deep breath in and let it out slowly.

Carl tried to organically open a portal, but couldn’t figure it out and eventually just asked Tiamutael to bring him home.

“Cheers Buddy. Where is everyone?”

“Dinner was cancelled, so you, Mum and Kyubi could talk.”

“Can they hear us?”

“Nooo. Why?”

“Just wondering, what’s your opinion?”

“Well, I love you, Mum and Ki-ko and I really like Kyubi, she makes us snacks and plays with us. If you marry Kyubi too, then that will make me and Ki-ko proper siblings and you and Mum have somebody else to love.”

“You know, I’m proud of how mature you are buddy, but you need to be a kid more often. Watch some kid-vids until you’re told otherwise.”

“Yay! Mum is upstairs in the bedroom and Kyubi is down in the bath.”

Carl tousled his hair and headed for the bedroom, when he walked in Klaire was petting Levi and Squidge.

“Hey Klaire, sorry I was gone so long.”

“No, it’s what you needed… Oh, Kyubi only got here when Sis told us you weren’t going to be long, I swear.” Klaire was blatantly nervous, she had considered the conversation going many ways, but wasn’t expecting Carl to have sent a group of vampires back and return so calm.

“Relax, I spoke with Gaia about everything, she’s a very understanding creature and helped me understand things. I won’t lie, I thought at first that it meant I wasn’t enough for you and this, that and the other, so I panicked and my head went straight to the worst possibilities. I’m sorry, I couldn’t handle it more maturely, but that’s the problem, we’re not.”

“Yeah, Nergal told me the same thing…”

“So, if you need to explore this part of yourself, then I have no issues with it. Likewise, I feel a sense of responsibility for Kyubi myself…”

“Responsibility?”

“I took her from her sanctuary, intentionally or not, seduced her and then spent all this time rubbing my relationship with you in her face. If you are still okay with it, I’ll accept her feelings and see if I begin to feel the same. I have a few boundaries to set though…”

“Of course. We all likely have some ground rules to set, I haven’t really thought of any myself yet and would rather just tell you guys as and when something bothers me.”

“I wish I could say the same, sorry but I don’t want to hear about anything you two get up to. If I get curious, I’ll ask, but can you try to be discreet, please? I don’t think a kiss hello and goodbye will bother me, but I’ll say if that’s wrong.”

“I would actually appreciate the privacy at first, I’m a little embarrassed by suddenly realising I’m attracted to her like this. Anything else?”

“Nothing major, I just think that we should give each other at least one dedicated day together a week and at least one day we spend together so it doesn’t start to feel weird being all together. Next, I want to make it clear that I am not sleeping with anyone I don’t genuinely love, so even if we do end up talking openly about it, no trying to get me involved until I tell her I love her. Lastly, no one else, I truly believe if two people can’t satisfy you, they’re just the wrong people.”

“I agree with all of that, honestly I feel so selfish asking for Kyubi I’m trying really hard not to start acting like I owe you for not stopping me.”

“Please do, if you start acting like you owe me, I might actually walk away. Now, while we wait for Kyubi to get out the bath, do you need to feed.”

Klaire bit her lip and went red. “You better talk to Kyubi first, there is a good chance I’m going to fill two needs at the same time if that’s okay?”

“Since when do you ask and not just pounce on me, on that subject, I have to accept I’m simply not wired for that. I give you permission to initiate as and when you please, It’ll be best if I tell you, and maybe Kyubi one day, when I absolutely don’t want to.”

“Fine, but you need to initiate sometimes, it makes me feel like you’re not attracted to me and don’t enjoy it.”

“Right, I promise I will try to initiate… Before you say it, no I will not just set a recurring slate alarm. One pro I can see in the future where me, you and Kyubi being together completely, is her giving me a nudge every so often.”

Klaire chuckled, relieved to see Carl speak about that stuff casually, as she knew it meant he had fully accepted that possibility and was open to it. He was stubborn to a fault and refused to speak about things as hypotheticals in terms of his personal life.

“Good, I love you, now go speak to Kyubi. She has been stress malting like mad according to Ki-ko.”

“Right… Never thought I’d see the day you told me to go accept another woman’s feelings.”

“It’s not another woman, it’s Kyubi, Ki-ko’s mum. We both love her and that’s what’s making this situation so confusing.”
