“Why are you apologising? Do I usually get annoyed?” Carl had a look of confusion on his face that she found so adorable she couldn’t help but kiss him.

As she did, the others instinctively backed away, earning a curious look from Carl, Kyubi and Klaire. “Sorry, did I make you all feel uncomfortable?”

“Oh, no, it’s just that getting used to Klaire letting someone else get to Carl is going to take some time…” Sophie admitted. “…She once threw a girl planning to give Carl a love letter across the combat hall.”

“Well, she was just drooling over his abs, she didn’t love him like Kyubi does.” Klaire huffed.

Carl snapped his fingers a few times and got everyone refocused as he pulled out Loki’s mask and then sent a quick message to Kyubi to restrain Klaire while he filled a vial with blood infused with thirty-thousand divinity.

The moment the vial was on the table, Carl restored his DIV and began the synthesis to not drag out Klaire’s temptation.

The wooden mask rimmed in riveted metal, glowed along with the blood and at the same time Carl prepared a creature on hold made from Kyubi, Klaire and Lasael, then blended the two.

“I think I’ll call the material species Faction Angel. The end result species will be called Paradox angel and the individual will be Raziel.”

A figure of light burst into life, not as overwhelmingly bright as Carl’s soul but bright enough that they instinctively looked away at first.

It looked like a younger Klaire with three fox tails and eight feathery wings, seemingly a similar age to Tiamutael and Kitsunoko, the little girl kneeled down. “Greetings Creator, I thank you for giving me life, how may I be of service.”

Her words were received, then responded to with aggressive affection as Kyubi and Klaire jumped into affection mode.

“Blackout, it seems you have a choice to make. Would you like to be a creation or a daughter?”

“Well then I choose daughter, these two are nice Creator.”

“Not “Creator”, if we’re your mums then he’s Dad, Raziel.”

“Okay, what would you like me to do, Dad?”

“Well, you can do whatever you want, as long as you don’t harm the faction or anyone in it. The only thing I need you to do, is keep everything we own hidden from sight. As long as you do that, your life is your own, but don’t start we go on our trip…”

“…Yeah little Miss Cutey, until we go on holiday you have to focus on getting settled and getting to know your new family.” Klaire cooed as she stroked the young girl’s tails and right ear, whilst Kyubi took the left.

“Truly impressive, not just any creator could overwrite an angel’s sense of duty so easily…” Lasael noted aloud before moving over to Carl and kneeling down to Raziel’s level. “…I don’t know if you’re aware, but I granted my legacy to your creation, I just want you to know that you can ask if you ever have questions about that part of yourself.”

“Sure. Bye Lasael, I’ll come visit some time, you won’t be able to find us when I start working.”

Lasael cocked his head then her irises turned black and everyone and thing around him began to blur out of existence, before fading back in as her irises returned to normal.

“I see why you named her after the angel of mysteries and secrets. How did you know their name though?”

Carl shrugged and threw his hands up, “Damned if I know, I just had some celestial language come into my mind, maybe I glimpsed a future where I asked you without realising.”

“If you did, I’d try to get that under control, the law of Infinity represents absolute enlightenment when paired with soul, but absolute insanity when paired with mind. What laws have you mastered?”

“Mind, unfortunately, but I have inversion so maybe that will be inverted too.”

“I admire your optimism.”

“I admire your willingness to let me enjoy ignorance.”

Lasael smiled warmly, he had only been there a brief time, but seen enough to earn the faction his respect. “I’ll leave you to celebrate the newborn.”

Kyubi opened the portal back for him without looking away from her new baby. “Ki-ko, Timautael, come meet your new sister already!”

When they walked over, Ki-ko got her usual mischievous look and led the children away. Leaving Carl to sigh and mutter his thoughts aloud “Well that’s mildly concerning.”

As they all just kind of accepted that there was going to be typical Kitsune shenanigans, the rest of them sat down to start discussing the trip and the impending absence of Klaire and Kyubi from the day to day when Raziel fully activated her ability.

“Okay, I get it, so we’re going to go neutral and try to enjoy the game. I guess the best part of open-world games is exploring. It’s also how you find the best stuff and get to know the whole story, so as a gamer I approve.”

“There is another side of the coin…” Gillian added. “…People who go to these neutral spots we make, they will be forced to play nice, this could earn us serious points if it leads to long-term resolution of grudges.”

“Okay, seriously, why am I here?”

“Simple, because we want to speak to you about stuff.”

“What stuff?”

Carl explained that he wanted to get her opinion on how to give the faction a sense of community.

“Why do you want my opinion on that?” Sophie asked suspiciously.

“Well we want to get a non-householder’s opinion, the last thing we need is people thinking they’ve swapped one committee for another.” Klaire threw out the explanation so reflexively it stopped her from spotting Carl’s hesitation.

Kyubi then walked over and whispered something in her ear and made her suddenly very agreeable to the suggestion.

“What did you say to her?” Blanc asked, before Kyubi whispered in his ear without delay and erased his suspicion, but not his annoyance.

“Honestly, I just don’t want people overpopulating planets, I have a duty to our territory as much as those living in it.”

Kyubi wrapped herself around him. “No wonder Gaia likes you so much. I’m going to have to make sure she knows that two’s the limit at this rate.”

“Please do… i just mean, well, do you remember the past? Those awful vehicles that made the air sting your eyes and those glass towers that cast glare everywhere and being unable to move without bumping into somebody.”

Gillian was the first to reply. “Yeah tell me about it, my nose felt like it was on fire, I don’t know why they didn’t just use solar or even steam power and salt batteries. I get that they didn’t have colonisation tech back then, but seriously.”

Next was Blanc. “Yeah being around so many people was terrifying, did you see the guy getting dragged into the alley in broad daylight? That’s what happens when too many people are crammed into one place.”

“It’s also what happens when people forget that they don’t own things just because they don’t know who the actual owner is.” Klaire said unashamedly as she completely abandoned the subject at hand and clung to Kyubi and Carl.

“Klaire, are you okay?”

“Huh? Very hungry, sorry might need you to repeat stuff to me.”

“Dude, is Klaire okay?” Gillian asked, as the most familiar with Klaire, he was the onely one to notice it wasn’t the usual possessive girlfriend act.

“No, turns out satisfying her hunger is addictive, we’re drying her out and gonna be strict on it.”

“Oh wow. Sorry to hear that Klaire, let us know if you need anything, even if it’s just time alone.”

“Wow, that actually means a lot Gillian, thank you.”

“Don’t worry bout it, anyway yeah I get why you want that mate, but you sure that needs to be a necessity right now?”

“It can double as incursion detectors above each planet, no more sneak attacks.”

“Ah, yeah good shout, we can keep the territory and the members safe at the same time. Sounds good.”

“Yeah, want me to let her know?” Sophie asked.

“Yes please, but make sure she knows it’s a joint product to be completed to Mum Leanna’s specifications.”

“Sure. Am I right in thinking we’re done? I’ll let them both know.”

“Great, can you help Sis set up her place as well when you get to them?”
