As Illerion laid against the wall, looking over to the flames that were starting to settle as she cradled Sophie, feeling the pinch of growing fangs, she couldn’t help but let out a slight moan which seemed to be a wake up call for the suckling vampire.

As Sophie shifted, her hair fell back and revealed a pointy, almost Elven ear.

“Sorry, I couldn’t help but find it a little erotic and I got excited.”

“It’s fine, sorry to edge you like that, but that’s all you’re getting I’m afraid.”

“Aww, such a tease… Oh well, soon enough, I’ll either be enjoying it as I watch or I’ll just go home and have my lovers satisfy me. Did you need more blood? You’re welcome to all you need and I imagine a newborn to be hungry.”

“No, I’m fine. Klaire said it can be addictive, so I should pace myself.”

“Klaire? What would a banshee know?”

“She’s actually a new species too, she has traits of a vampire after eating Dracula’s soul, she feeds on divinity though and not blood.”

“I am officially a Chaos-Vampire, I also got three stars and a bunch of skills and a massive stat boost.”

“Congratulations, please invite me to your star feast! I know, I can be dessert!” The pair of them chuckled for a bit then Blanc knocked on the barrier.

“Err, can I get out please?”

“Course you can! I have an important question to ask you and it would be weird while you’re trapped…” The barrier disappeared instantly. “…Will you be mine?”

“No. Sorry, not interested.”

“Well that was harsh…” Illerion pouted and stood up. “…Can I have Sophie?”

“Her call, but I’d rather not.”

“Wow! You two are so in sync. Well anyway, she got me all hot and bothered, so let’s get you two back and then I’ll be off to clear my head.”

Illerion turned and started skipping up the stairs as the other two followed after her, then she dropped the barrier and the next thing they knew she was cackling to herself louder than ever.

“While she’s distracted, what happened? Your ears weren’t so pointy and you didn’t have fangs before.”

“Oh, we became friends and she let me bite her because I was curious, now I’m a Chaos-Vampire and have three stars.”

“Cool, do you know if you can handle sunlight without the cream?”

“No, I’ll have to experiment.”

“Before that, I think we both need to start taking therapy seriously.”

“I kind of agree, I’m a little concerned about how unbothered I am about changing, and I also want to be worth being your one and only if that’s how we’re going to be.”

“I’d prefer that, I talked a big game and then Dad told me to show them what a good parent looks like. Not, that I’m thinking we should, we actually can’t anytime soon.”

“No rush, we both have lots of therapy to do first anyway.”

When they finally caught up to her, Illerion was still cackling and waving to some people in the distance.

“Hey you two slowpokes! Looks like your friend ascended too, no wonder Scylla disappeared.”

Illerion sat herself on one of the ruined walls, playing off the fact she slipped the first time when the wall collapsed as casually as Blanc did when he grabbed the wrong hand.

“Hey Illerion, Sorry but your dress got blood on it.”

“Hahahaha! It got way worse flaying demons, those things are juicy! Speaking of demons, smells like a certain mother was around. How rude to not say hello.”

After waiting for them to reach them Gillian looked around, then looked at Illerion. “Lady Illerion, Lillim extends her best wishes but didn’t wish to intrude on your time with new friends.”

“Cut the honorifics already, Sophie’s already nibbled on me, seems silly to act all high and mighty when I’m just a snack. As for Lillim, tell her I said the past is the past, my grudge is with the infernal denizens. Right, now you’re all back together, I should get you back to Carl an-”

Illerion cut herself off and looked toward the settlement, another wicked grin spreading across her face.

“What’s happening, I’m starting to know that that’s your lewd face.”

“I think they aren’t as frigid as you guys. A shame he’s so good at sensory blocking, I would love to see their assets, I’ve missed Kyubi’s dearly.”

“Was she…?”

“No, she rejected my every advance, but she loved to tease and wasn’t shy. Why would she be? That body could end wars or start them!”

With those casual words she opened a portal and jumped in from her perch.

The moment she was gone, Scylla breathed a heavy sigh of relief and sank to her knees.

“She’s gone…” Scylla let a relieved smile find her face. “…At least we managed to survive.”

“Did Lycaon and Lillim freak you out about her or something? She’s sweet as long as you’re open and yourself. Well, she is very lewd and a bit of a deviant I guess.”

“It’s more the flaying stuff that gets me.” Scylla growled as if to suggest Sophie was missing the point.

“Do we have any room to judge? She doesn’t pick fights without reason, her enemies live forever, so she makes sure her examples stay with them just as long.”

“Please don’t make her seem reasonable to me, I want to be who I am for as long as possible.”

“Anyway!…” Gillian clapped, making it clear that discussion was over. “…I spoke to Ishtar, kind of.”

Blanc and Sophie wrenched their heads towards him.

“So she can speak to you but not Carl or Sis? Scumbag.”

“Yeah, I told her she should be ashamed, she seemed to be one step ahead though. She did help me out against Jack though, he would have killed me otherwise.”

“Jack?”

“Yeah, some serial killer ex of Lillim’s, he was a spirit of some kind made of blades. She changed my system so rather than summon creatures, I integrate their traits into myself… I’m not a Lycan anymore, I’m a were-chimera.”

“Really? Sorry dude, I know you were a proud lycan and it was an important piece of who you were. Can’t help, but if you ever need to talk, let me know and we’ll hit the hive again.”

“Okay, what the hell, you know he isn’t actually bothered. Can someone please explain this to me, I can’t take it anymore.” Scylla ranted, clearly hurting on Gillian’s behalf.

“Scylla, it’s simple. Emotions are chemical reactions that start in the brain. In other words, emotions are ideas at the start. Blanc may not care emotionally, but that doesn’t mean things can’t take up space in his brain.”

“If it makes you feel better, think of logic as my emotion. At least I’m put together enough to know Illerion is too comfortable with how she is. Anything else Gil?”

“Yeah, apparently I’m Remus’ champion or something seems, Ishtar related.”

“It is, my Dad told me you, me and Alysse were always meant to meet up with Carl.”

“Alysse said she can’t… She’s with “Omy” right now… Our little gnome found something other than nanites to love. I’m so happy, but I’m struggling to believe it.”

“Yeah guess we’re all growing up, I turned down a god, you’re getting married and Alysse has fallen in love with a two month old dragon made from Tiamat’s fire…”

“Okay, I’m done. This faction is weird, I’m done fighting it, from now on just full acceptance.”

“See, told you you’d get used to it!” Gillian cheered before a glare nearly pierced his soul. “Ahem! Anyway, you smell different Sophie, what happened.”

“Oh, I nibbled on Illerion and became a Chaos-Vampire, I don’t have much to say at the moment. I’ll ask Grenda to help me experiment and keep an up-to-date report.”

“Cool, well…”

“Well what? We can’t go back while they’re occupied.”
