“Do you wish to meet again?” Gilgamesh asked, slightly surprised.

Carl made a gesture as if to say “how do you expect me to answer clearly” then Levi grew until she could speak properly.

“No, he’s saying he will return in one week, whether you like it or not. What happens when he does is up to you, he doesn’t care which.”

Gilgamesh wanted to retort and rant, but no lie was spoken and none could deny the magnitude of that feat.

’Tiamutael, can you please bring us home, when I wave?’ He asked telepathically so he didn’t have to speak aloud, then turned to the variants. “Jupiterran, Marsian. I hope your guts decorate the halls of celebration. I look forward to seeing the rest of you in a week.” He then waved and disappeared.

“I don’t know whether to be disgusted or not?” Jupiterran chuckled, until he noted Gilgamesh shaking with fury and still holding back the dry cough that stuck in his throat.

“That boy is a monster… Possibly more so than some elder gods.” Neptuna said.

“No possibility about it, he is, I feel like a fish out of water after being around him. Did he have that effect on the rest of you the last time?”

“No, he didn’t have a fraction of the power he just demonstrated, or at least he wasn’t inclined to show his hand…”

“I promised a half-angel contact of his was free to communicate with him freely. Tiamutael, Venusiah’s dragon god, was made with celestial parts amongst others and I’d rather avoid something like that rampaging because its father didn’t understand it.”

“Fair enough, we will leave you to it… Seems you have the luxury of not having to replace your bodyguard.” Marsian spoke, then a split second later the others killed theirs.

“I still have to erase his mind, it will never recover from Gilgamesh’s burning aura. I guess his relationship with the fox has given him some defense against the law of Mind, or maybe it was his fight with the crowns he mentioned.” Jupiterran grumbled, wondering if Carl noticed that seeing Gilgamesh had destroyed their minds.

“Does anyone have any idea which crowns it might have been?” Marsian asked.

“…The only news I’ve heard from Samael’s territory is that Eckro has returned, but surely he can’t have meant that monster.” Neptuna mused with uncertainty.

“Eckro of infinite madness would certainly be a challenge to any of us now, most of us struggled against him even in our prime.” One of the others surmised.

“You sound like any of us were even enough of a challenge to make him use that trump card of his.” Marsian scolded. “This situation is getting out of hand, angering Carl any further might be the end of us.”

Tiamutael was falling asleep, listening to the only being present that Tiamutael considered a threat talk about his life was far from interesting.

Then all of a sudden his dad started talking and acting strangely. “Ki-ko, can you tell me if you know what Dad’s doing?”

“Sure…” Ki-ko beamed, happy to be included after being left out. “…I think Dad’s playing a trick on them, he doesn’t seem to be anything but bored.”

’Tiamutael, can you please bring us home, when I wave?’ The message came through and he told his sister excitedly that their dad would be home soon.

“Wait…” Ki-ko said, a mischievous idea crossing her mind. “…They might be able to work out where here is if you bring him directly. I think you should send him everywhere you can for three seconds before bringing him back here, then they can’t find us.”

“But the-”

“Bro, we can’t be too careful…” Ki-ko maintained unbreaking eye contact after trailing off, then when Carl gave the wave, he couldn’t think of a reason why that would be a bad thing to do.

A few seconds later Carl was on his knees in front of them, throwing up, then collapsing to the side.

Squidge and Levi appeared from thin air and turned to face their younger siblings, who stared back rife with regret and gulping as loudly as they could.

“We wanted to make sure they couldn’t follow.”

“Ki-ko said it was better to be safe than sorry.”

“Squidge, can you clean this mess up please? Timuatael, call Aegis here now.” Levi said as she assumed the authority of big sister.

Aegis appeared and Levi had Carl carried to bed.

’Mum, sorry to disturb you, but are you two free? The kids were naughty and Dad can’t babysit.’

Tiamutael took them all to the mums, and Levi explained whilst the two youngest looked sorry for themselves.

“What were you thinking young lady!?” Kyubi yelled as Ki-ko began to squirm under her gaze.

“And what about you, Tiamutael? You know your sister can’t be trusted in situations like that.”

“Sorry Mum.” The two children said together.

“Nuh-uh, not us…”

“…Agreed, we’re going back, we’ll take care of Dad and then you can apologise…”

“…Did you apologise to Squidge and Levi already?”

They all returned back to the home on Haven and they prepared dinner and took some water.

When Carl was feeling well enough to come downstairs, he was still pretty out of it and unsteady, Aegis walking behind him with hovering arms like a parent guiding their child’s first steps.

As Carl and Kyubi walked over and asked him if he was feeling better he nodded and kissed them each on the cheek without thinking then stumbled over to the sink and got some more water.

“Sorry I ruined your date day you two…”

“No, actually we’re glad you’re back, we couldn’t really relax anyway. Besides, it was these two that made you sick.” Kyubi said as she gestured for the two clearly sorry children to apologise.

“Sorry Dad.”

“Don’t worry, Tiamutael, the limit is twenty… Thats when my stomach felt a bit off. Do it that many times before bringing me back.”

“Twenty! How many ti-”

“Three-hundred and eighty-two. I felt like my stomach was outside my body… Remember that though in case anyone needs to be put out of commision but not dead.”

“Okay Dad, we’re really sorry.”

Carl smiled weakly. “You two go enjoy your date day, these two can babysit me and show how sorry they are.”

“That’s a no. They can go to bed in their own rooms, no kid-vids, toys or games. We’re going to take care of you for today, then you can fill us all in tomorrow.”
