Chapter 77: Training

After a long make out session, Neil decided to pause things for now. They were still exploring these new feelings and getting closer, so it was better to take things slower.

It would lower the fun if they just gave in to lust, love would feel less significant then, he wanted love to develop between them.

And she won her freedom back momentarily, for a while her parents won’t bother her, though Neil would have to prove his abilities soon.

Of course she hadn’t told them the fact that he is stuck in the Carceral Citadel, a place from which no lord had ever managed to escape.

Although he was immensely talented, but 99.99% chances were that he would die there, it made her sigh.

He received such immense talent yet was pushed into a death zone, is it the world’s way of balancing things?

“Good morning, teacher. Sorry for being late, you know how dangerous that place is, I was caught by a powerful and intoxicating being.” Neil said.

“Have you found a way to receive the core and other things from me safely?” she asked, her tone as always lacking emotions.

“Not yet, that place is turning strange, even the beasts have all disappeared…” Neil mumbled, any unknown change was a signal of danger for him.

Cinthia pursed her lips, she didn’t want him to die right after becoming her student.

But she can’t even give him any treasures right now.

“Alright let’s start.” She said, if he is strong enough, his chances of survival will certainly increase.

Neil nodded and took out his dual blades, getting serious.

“Use whatever you have, don’t hold back. And things might get a little painful.” Cinthia mumbled, as she thought for a moment and took out a whip.

As she pulled hard, his body was almost torn, a tearing pain coursing through his body.

The pain felt way too real, it seemed she had made some changes to the environment.

His body remained sticking together by just a slight part, and then he healed quickly.

Neil’s brows were furrowed and forehead covered with sweat, but pain was one thing he had experienced a lot.

He had died so many times, so this much wasn’t even enough to make him groan.

’Oh!’ Cinthia waited for a strong reaction but it never came.

Initially, she just planned to teach him but for some reason, her own battle intent began to rise.

She was actually starting to enjoy the battle.

“Not bad.” She mumbled before bursting forth with deadly strikes, each enough to kill Neil in reality.

On the other hand, he was just doing his best to predict her movements, to parry her strikes or dodge.

He sidestepped from the incoming strike but suddenly extreme pain shot from his back as Cinthia’s arm pierced through his body.

She gripped his heart, making him feel extremely uncomfortable before crushing it.
