| A Certain Cylindrical House Near Ottery St Catchpole |
Luna arrived at her house with a huge smile on her face as she greeted her father with a hug.
“Oh, my Luna! You are back! I thought you would be staying at school for Christmas,” Xenophilius said, clearly happy to see his daughter.
“Yes, I will be going back to school for the ball as Aaric’s date,” Luna said calmly, and her lips thinned as she saw the frown on Xenophilius’s face.
“I heard rumours about that boy. Someone told me he is dating the Greengrass girl as well. Didn’t you tell me she is your good friend?” Xenophilius said with a shake of his head.
“He is dating her as well. I allowed him to,” Luna said gently.
“Luna, my lovely girl. You don’t deserve that. You are a precious gem, and if he cannot love you alone, he does not deserve you,” Xenophilius said, holding Luna’s face.
Xenophilius thought Aaric was playing his precious daughter and manipulating her into doing his bidding.
“I know you love him, my girl, but I must tell you if he does this to you, he does not love you,” Xenophilius added in a whisper and kissed Luna’s forehead.
“Dad, I love Daphne like a sister and I am truly fine with that, and I want you to accept that,” Luna said with a shake of her head as she held her father’s hands.
Xenophilius shook his head with pity in his eyes as he looked at Luna as if she was the most naive girl in the world.
“We will talk of that later. Come, I prepared some tea and snacks for you. Let’s have them before Plimpies steal your appetite,” Xenophilius said with an indulgent smile.
Luna chewed on her lip as if contemplating something. She closed her eyes and took a breath as she thought before opening them with resolve.
“Dad, I will show you something, and I want you to stay calm and let me explain,” Luna said and held her father’s hand.
“Of course, my girl. Anything it is, I will listen to you always,” Xenophilius said in his usual indulgent way.
One moment Luna and Xenophilius were in their house, and the next they were in the void of space with nothing around them.
The space was not cold to them but beautiful, with stars gathering into rivers that curled and coiled.
Xenophilius looked at his daughter and saw her with six pairs of beautiful wings, like the angel he always thought of her as.
“Luna?” he whispered and touched her head as if to check if she was real.
“I once dreamt of that day,” Luna said. Xenophilius knew the day Luna was talking about, and his lips trembled as he looked at Luna.
“He held me tight in my dream and took all that darkness away, turning it into light,” Luna added, giving Xenophilius glimpses of what had happened.
Luna glanced at the emptiness, and an astroid appeared in the space, exiting a portal she had created.
She turned to the astroid, and it flattened and formed solid ground for them to step on.
Luna’s wings glowed, and life birthed itself on the new, flat planet.
Plants, small animals, lakes, even some magical beings appeared as the rock was saturated with endless magic, making the impossible possible.
“I will name this place after Mother… Pandora,” Luna whispered the last part.
“How? What? This is… the grace of a god,” Xenophilius muttered as he saw his daughter play god with life and create a whole planet in front of him.
“God, huh?” Luna mused out loud. “I have met them too… I call them friends,” she added with a fond smile.
“How is this possible?” Xenophilius whispered, looking at Luna.
Luna explained everything to Xenophilius, who sat on the ground with her and listened without interrupting.
Noctelle appeared beside them in the middle of the story and sat on Xenophilius’s shoulder as if to corroborate the story and comfort the man.
“Your mother would be proud of you. I am proud of you,” Xenophilius said with a smile, accepting everything Luna had told him after taking some time to digest all the information.
“Dad, she is always watching us,” Luna said and waved her hand to form a beautiful silver door in the middle of the field.
Xenophilius looked at the door and could not look away. His heart stopped for a moment, and somehow he knew what was behind that door.
“Go, meet her. She asked of you when we met,” Luna said gently.
Xenophilius got up and, as if in a trance, he moved to the door before taking a deep breath and entering.
Their universe was not in Hades’s jurisdiction or under that of any god they knew.
However, when Luna told Persephone about her life during a conversation, the goddess had pulled some strings to get Pandora’s soul in their domain.
Because Luna was the chosen one of their whole pantheon, she had the authority and power to exert their divinities in any way she wished, allowing her to meet Pandora.
Luna even had the authority to revive Pandora, but Pandora had asked for some time to think about it.
The universe they were in did have some planets with life and divine sources. She had even met some of the gods from other planets in their universe.
To her surprise, the gods born from the divine sources in material realms were not as powerful as her and had a lot of restrictions placed on them.
She had helped some of them and gained some divine seeds of the material realms.
She intended to give one to Pandora if she chose to be revived and one to Xenophilius so they could stay together forever.
And if Pandora chose not to be revived, she would just take his soul and place it with Pandora’s after his death, and she would be able to meet them whenever she may choose to, and they would be together forever as well.
Just as she was thinking of these things while she looked at different colored seeds in her hands, Xenophilius exited the door and stumbled as if he was pushed out of the door.
“What happened?” Luna asked her father with a little surprise.
“Can’t I stay with her?” Xenophilius asked with hope in his eyes.
It seems Xenophilius had been stubborn and refused to leave Pandora’s side, leading her to push him out of the door as he was not dead and Luna still needed Xenophilius.
“It is not your time yet, Dad. And you can meet her whenever you wish to. I will form a path for you to come here whenever you may wish,” Luna told Xenophilius with a hand on his shoulder.
Xenophilius let out a breath and composed himself after the display he had just shown.
Father and daughter sat there for some time after that and talked about all the changes in Luna’s life Xenophilius had missed in the past few years.
