The three chatted with Pandora for about an hour before they left her haven.
Luna jumped onto Aaric’s back and hugged him tight as she whispered thank you to him again and again just as they exited the door.
“I saw the look in her eyes. I think she will accept being revived” Luna said, hugging him tighter with a wide smile.
Aaric chuckled, reached up with one hand to pat her cheek, and held Daphne’s hand with the other.
They stared at Pandora’s starry sky once more before a portal wavered into being and deposited them in front of Luna’s house.
Luna slid down from Aaric’s back and stood before him to press a goodbye kiss to his lips.
“Well, I have one more thing for you two” Aaric said and produced two vials from a portal he opened beside him.
The vials held the blood of Typhon and Apophis.
Luna and Daphne already carried the blood of the positive aspects of their pantheons and had been chosen by them.
Now Aaric intended to gift the strength of their opposites as well.
Luna’s power granted her authority over fate and Daphne’s power granted her command over order because of the philosophies of the Pantheons that had chosen them.
They were simply different paths to the same end. Aaric wanted to give them the complementary halves. He wanted Luna to have the authority to break fate and Daphne to have the ability to bend chaos to her will.
He explained this and opened the vials. Two thin streams of blood entered Luna and Daphne and merged with them. There was no dramatic transformation, only a ripple that completed their authorities.
“Bye angel” Aaric said, kissing Luna once the transfer settled. She turned and entered her house.
Aaric formed another portal and entered with Daphne that lead to the front of her house.
Aaric walked Daphne to her door next. “See you later, my Light” he said and kissed her. Daphne stroked his cheek before she turned and walked inside.
Aaric watched Daphne cross the threshold, stepped back, and a portal flickered open behind him.
He was in Hogwarts again. Specifically he stood in Draco’s room while Draco looked out the window, trying to remain calm though the tapping of his foot betrayed his nerves.
“Well” Aaric said aloud, making Draco jump and swivel around.
“Do you not knock” Draco snapped, clutching his chest.
“Sorry” Aaric said with a small laugh, palms open as if to surrender.
Draco sat on his bed and drew slow breaths before he spoke. “How did you Apparate into Hogwarts and make no sound” he asked with a raised brow.
“I did not” Aaric answered with a shrug and a smile.
Draco did not press the matter. He stared at the floor for a moment and then leaned forward. “He wants to do something at Hogwarts, something about the room of hidden things” Draco whispered, and his face sharpened. He had asked for this meeting because he feared what Voldemort would try to achieve.
Aaric knew why Voldemort wanted the room. He wanted to gather his Horcruxes. Aaric had searched for the Horcruxes himself before he awakened and failed to find the ring in the shack.
After his awakening he discovered that Voldemort now had the ring and the cup. He also knew the locket remained with Kreacher, who was still trying to find a way to destroy it.
“You do not seem surprised” Draco observed.
“I will tell you the whole story later” Aaric said, placing a steadying hand on Draco’s shoulder.
“What do I do” Draco asked, calmer after seeing Aaric’s composure. “He knows I am working on the cabinet”
“Let him in” Aaric said with a shrug. “He will not harm anyone. He will take what he wants and leave.”
Aaric permitted Voldemort to act because he wanted their confrontation to be public and he planned to cleanse the magical world in a single strike.
He and Simon had already ensured that Voldemort and the Death Eaters could not hurt innocents after their awakening.
Simon had formed the international alliance that guarded even the Muggle world from Voldemort even before their awakening.
They would use their combined abilities to stop any Death Eater who tried to do harm.
They had the ability to monitor anyone they wished to keep an eye on.
“What” Draco breathed and stood up. “If he wants something, it must be dangerous” His whisper carried fury as he neared Aaric and stated.
“Just trust me brother” Aaric said, both hands on Draco’s shoulders now.
Aaric wanted to display his full strength to ease Draco’s fear and to show that Voldemort was no more than an ant to him. This, however, was not the moment.
Draco calmed when he read the certainty in Aaric’s eyes and sat back on his bed. “You look like the Dark Lord is dancing on your fingers” he said with a light sigh.
“Why am I still so weak” Draco muttered, staring at his hands and clenching his fists.
“Are you” Aaric asked. “I know even Voldemort cannot Legilimency you now and you could defeat most Death Eaters yourself” He tilted his head.
“It is not enough” Draco whispered.
Aaric felt the weight of the pressure he had allowed Voldemort to lay upon someone so young and dear to him.
Draco was like a brother and he was worried most of the time because of Voldemort.
Aaric lowered his voice. “Draco” he said, serious. “I promise you will be as strong as you want to be when the time comes.”
Draco stared at him with wide eyes. “For now just do not worry” Aaric added with a reassuring smile.
Draco exhaled and his shoulders loosened. He dropped back and let himself rest on the mattress.
“I will send Nibbin for you tomorrow. Let us visit China like I promised at the party” Aaric said, leaning against the wall with a grin.
“Really” Draco sat up. “I have been speaking to Ars and some disciples of the sect. Will they allow me to got a flame for myself?” he asked hopefully.
“That is a long process” Aaric said with a shrug.
“I know Ars told me that. I wondered if I could get an ashwinder egg… Could they?” Draco nodded toward the ceiling before asking.
“We will see tomorrow” Aaric said. “Now take care and do not worry. Everything is under control” He offered comfort before slipping out through a doorway he had turned into a portal to his room. Draco did not notice.
