After commissioning the cloaks and jewelry from the goblins, he stayed to observe for a little bit as they did their masterful, artistic work. It did not take long for the centaurs to join in as they started helping make the cloaks and jewellery.
He saw they were having trouble with the bones and was about to step in for help, but Luxarion stepped in before him.
The little gold dragon had made a habit of following the goblins and centaurs around the island, and they loved him for it.
Luxarion sent out a stream of fire toward a bone and managed to scorch it a little after a minute or so. Aaric knew this would not be helpful as at this rate it may take days of constant fire for the bones to become malleable.
But his worries were unfounded as the goblins cheered at Luxarion for his effort.
They started praising him before they asked the dragon to concentrate his fire through a specific point in the furnace.
Aaric checked the furnace and found it amplified the flame of Luxarion, though not to the degree they wanted.
Even that, the goblins thought of as an opportunity to improve their rune work and make the furnace more potent.
Aaric chuckled and nodded his head as he was very impressed by them.
“Here,” he said as he handed over some scrolls and books to the goblins and centaurs before leaving.
The books were written by him and documented some runes Hephaestus had used on the swords and spear he had commissioned from the god.
It was the compiled study he had done on the runes. The scrolls were skill scrolls containing some smithing and artisan type skills.
They were not self-integrating scrolls, but rune based. They would inscribe the skill in the mind of the user the more runes the user deciphered from the scroll.
The rune language was Old Norse, which the goblins and centaurs were proficient with, so Aaric suspected it would not be hard for them to integrate the skills in a day or two.
With that thought swirling in his mind, he teleported to the Dark Island which was home to the wolves, snakes, and dementors he and his family had trained with.
He was not there to fight, so he just radiated a bit of his aura. The creatures got the message loud and clear and steered clear from Aaric.
Aaric had the idea of purifying and integrating the island with the Nightshade Island and he was here to do just that. He decided to do it with the seven daemon crystals he had.
The daemons inside were still asleep. By channeling magic through the crystals and being in the presence of his magic in the waking world as well as the Dreamlands, they had evolved.
All seven daemons had evolved to the level of Ascended Daemon Peers. It was a level of power that would have entire worlds trying to keep amiable relations with them if they were to show up in one.
Aaric had been thinking of what to do with them. He did not wish to have them imprisoned like this for all time as they had not done anything to deserve that.
Hence, Aaric decided to release them there. The crystals floated in front of him and released the seven daemons standing in front of him.
They seemed to be assessing their own situation. From their perspective, they were weak, less intelligent lesser daemons at one point and now even they did not know how much magic they had.
They did have enough sense with the increased intelligence to figure out the person in front of them was responsible for that.
So they stood there stiffly. This was partly because Aaric had increased their power in a moment from their perspective and taken them to a whole different world, and partly because he had not retracted his aura.
Aaric observed their magical capacities and nodded to them before deciding to be honest. He explained to them what had happened to them and what had caused their power to increase.
The daemons listened to the story intently and did not know what to say. From their point of view, they just slept a little and now they were at the top of their kind.
“Now, would you like to work with me? I will understand if you wish to go back to your own world and I will make that happen if you choose that,” Aaric asked them before giving them some time to think.
Although they did not take long to decide and knelt to Aaric the next instant.
The reason being, their culture was based on strength and even with their increased power, they were shivering just from the aura Aaric was releasing effortlessly.
Although some of them decided to serve him just out of curiosity and a desire to explore another universe itself.
“Thank you, everyone. Let us start with naming you all,” Aaric thanked them sincerely.
If the daemons had various motives to follow him initially, this declaration turned those reasons into complete devotion. In their universe, naming was a connection of the soul and a gift of power without expectation of anything in return.
Daemons were selfish, inherently cruel and considered everyone beneath them. However, an act like naming was the best way to earn their devotion for their eternal lives, and they would destroy or raise nations for the one who had named them.
“Are you certain, My Lord?” a daemon with black hair asked.
All the daemons present had hair colors representing their lineage and looked like typical demons with horns and strong auras.
“I am certain. Consider it thanks for all the help you have provided me. Even though you may not have been conscious for that,” Aaric said with a nod before naming the daemons one by one.
He sensed his magic leaving his body and evolving them with every name he gave and he was not stingy with the magic he gave them.
The red one was Ignis, the black was Erebus, and the white was Albedo. Beside them stood the yellow, Fulgor, and the violet, Tyrian. The blue was named Glacie, and the green was Virdis.
The demons stood one by one after getting their names before a swirling black cocoon engulfed their bodies and evolved them further than they had even imagined.
The process had instantly doubled their magical capacities, which was still increasing. In terms of their magical might they were comparable to the seven Primordial Daemons of their world.
And as they evolved in their cocoons they strived to match them in skill and did their best to control their evolution in a manner that would give them the most benefits to help them serve their master.
Aaric nodded when he sensed the seven daemons evolving at a steady pace before he looked around towards the Dark Island.
He floated up in the sky before raising his hands. Seven towers formed from the earth and darkness around him and stood high, forming a circle around the island at appropriate intervals.
The crystal spheres that had housed the daemons all this time expanded with a wave of his hand before turning into the shape of rhombuses and floating atop the towers.
He had turned the crystals into wards and magic channelers filled with intricate runes. They would protect the towers and help the daemons inside share and channel magic between themselves.
Their main function was the reason he had formed the towers, to terraform the island.
He could see the wolves, snakes, and dementors on the island forming seven groups as they were slowly making seven clans around the seven towers. He was sure when the daemons woke up, they would facilitate the process and take the creatures under them.
Aaric waited as the cocoons pulsed with potent magic as the daemons inside evolved slowly but surely.
Half an hour passed.
The daemons emerged with a burst of magical energy and took a moment to familiarize themselves with their new magical power before kneeling in front of Aaric again.
“You do not have to do that,” Aaric said with a shake of his head as he instructed the daemons to stop kneeling.
“This is your home now. Work together and make it a better one for all magical creatures and beings,” Aaric instructed them and gestured towards the towers he had made for them.
“Thank you, my lord. May I request something of you?” Erebus asked hesitantly and got a nod from Aaric.
“I have never seen the rune language carved on their crystals. Could you provide me with even a rudimentary book explaining them?” he asked, pointing towards the floating crystal.
“Yes, of course. I understand you all must have things you would be interested in. Name them and I will provide you with resources to help you study them,” Aaric announced.
The daemons did not act shy before telling him what they were interested in. The subjects were simple like rune studies, smithing, and alchemy.
There was even care of magical plants for Albedo, while Glacie wanted to delve into astrology.
Aaric responded by making an appropriate library in the towers of the daemons. He then added in some magical metals, plants, and creature materials for all of them.
He even added a teleportation circle in all their towers, leading to the Nightshade Island if they wanted anything else or may wish to study under someone on the island.
