Upon seeing the two cloaked figures, their gazes immediately turned wary as they secretly sized them up.

Wearing cloaks in a place like this meant one of two things: either your identity couldn’t see the light of day, or you were one of those Chameleons from the Eastern Highlands.

Arthur continued to shout, “Bring us your strongest liquor!”

The bearded man behind the bar glanced at Alvin Morgan and Aurora Sinclair, then held out his hand to them.

Alvin Morgan pulled out a gun and slapped it on the counter. The other patrons in the bar immediately jumped to their feet, aiming their own guns at him.

But he wasn’t the least bit afraid. With perfect composure, he set Aurora Sinclair down in a nearby seat.

Arthur’s heart was in his throat. He quickly said, “Boss, he’s my employer. He’s got a bit of a temper, but we’ll definitely pay you.”

The bearded man had seen Arthur buy drinks a few times before. After sweeping his gaze over Alvin Morgan a few more times, he finally holstered his gun and had someone serve them.

Large glasses of brandy were placed in front of them.
