Chapter 61: The weight of a sword.
“Lord Kai…” the Goblin Boss pronounced back, seemingly confused by the name.
Even more, he could tell the woman standing before him was strong, but as the Leader of the Domain, he needed to keep his cool for the others.
It felt even stranger knowing he could not see the stats beside her head, and she could see his as clear as day.
In response to his ignorant question, Fhera stretched her hands apart just to give him a response.
“Why yes, of course. The Lord of the Nameless Dungeon. Who else would have such a glorious name? Quite frankly, Goblins are the last monsters we should be recruiting, but I guess my Lord’s kindness does extend to you guys for some reason.”
“The Nameless Dungeon…”
This time it didn’t sound like a question. It was more of a statement, as though he had made up his mind in that moment.
With just that word leaving his mouth, he slowly stood up from the chair and began approaching the Lioness.
His Goblin slaves were cowering at the side already. Their ears did not deceive them, and their eyes did not lie to them.
The Lord of the Nameless Dungeon had set his eyes on their territory.
Finally stopping in front of Fhera, the Goblin Boss looked her in the eye.
She was neither phased nor scared. If anything, she seemed far more confident than she was before.
“You are a servant to the Boss of the Nameless Dungeon, correct?”
“Yes, I am. Is that a problem, big man?”
“Rumors spread amongst the other Dungeon Bosses. That there is a dungeon that grew from F-Rank to B-Rank in the blink of an eye. That is impossible and unheard of. We wished to speak to the Master of this dungeon, but we never got the chance to. No one wanted to dare step in such a place.”
“Ah, I see. So that’s why everyone else was so adamant on meeting my Lord. I know he is special and all, but you could just go to your knees and beg for a chance to speak to him. With my words, I am sure I can do something about that,” Fhera replied casually.
Her response was not taken too well, as it only put a frown on the Goblin’s face.
“I am the Boss of this dungeon. I kneel to no one.”
“Is that so?”
In the blink of an eye, the Goblin Boss found himself falling down to one knee right in front of her.
All she had to do was rest her massive blade on the Goblin’s shoulder and immediately, he was down, unable to lift himself back up.
Fear was etched on his face at the realization of the vast difference in their strength. Even his subordinates were too shocked to speak.
“I am a servant of the Lord of Shadows. When I say kneel, you kneel.”
Fhera’s voice echoed throughout the dungeon, her aura slowly leaking from her form.
As if forced by gravity itself, all the Goblins fell to their knees as well, their heads touching the floor. Unlike their Master, they lacked the intelligence to speak, but Fhera understood they were begging for her to spare their Lord.
“Relax, I am not going to kill him. Shit, I should have done the same thing to the others. Who knew flexing my powers would be this effective?”
“W-what do you need u-us to do?” the Goblin Lord managed to speak under the immense weight of the blade on his shoulder.
“Interesting question. I don’t know. Oh! Why not find a way to gather all the Floor Bosses so they can all meet my Lord together? Hell, I can ask if you all can be invited into the Nameless Dungeon just to speak to him. I am sure he would be thrilled.”
“Y-you… are trying to form an alliance with all the Bosses in the Jaun Region?”
“Alliance? Come now, we want to conquer the land. See, I am choosing to take the peaceful route because I know it’s what my Lord will want. Had I gone from here without your surrendering to his rule, I would have slaughtered every Dungeon Boss in this land. So basically, you saved everyone.”
There was silence for a while.
“I will do as you say. I shall have the Bosses of the land present themselves before your Lord.”
“Good boy. This should be ready in less than three days. Is that too short?” Fhera asked, tapping the flat side of the blade on her shoulder.
The Goblin Boss was in shock, knowing that was the same blade that almost crushed him to the ground, and yet she was moving it as though it were a tree twig.
“Consider it done,” he responded breathlessly.
“Ah good. I guess I am done here then. Take care of yourself, ’kay? And try not to act like degenerates before my Lord. Lyra has little tolerance for people from the outside world, far more than any of the Pillars. Good luck!”
With that, Fhera began to walk away, waving her hands in the distance.
Finally, she was gone, and the first thing that left the mouths of the Goblins was a large sigh of relief as they all collapsed on the ground.
They began murmuring to themselves through the fear, trying to understand what had just happened.
But their Lord understood it all too well.
With his fist clenched, he looked to the ground.
“The rest of the Dungeon Bosses were right. This new Boss is not someone we can simply overlook. Death has descended on this land, far worse than any of us can imagine.”
He sat down on the ground, trembling.
“What level was she? Level 100? She had to be more if she was able to make a Level 70 like myself kneel on the ground with just her sword. I can tell how the other Bosses would react to this, and it can’t be good.”
