Chapter 488: GIVE ME YOUR ALL!

A word he did not use lightly. He had existed for too long in this universe for things to make little to no sense, but what he was witnessing in front of him now was seriously frying the circuits. He even felt a phantom itch where his brain once was, adding even more to the sight before him.

Ares was hovering in space, his Armada still on the retreat. He had been retreating for months. However, he was not ashamed of this retreat. The lives, if you could call those parasites living, he had taken must have been almost an entire fleet at this point and yet, they still kept coming.

He knew the great enemy, he had been waging war against them since shortly after his exile. This was new behaviour, inconceivable. The enemy had been ignoring planet after planet, following him all the way here to a remote refinery star system.

From all of his past engagements with the enemy, they would always allow him to escape as he had no nutrition about him for them to consume. They would stop, devouring entire planets he had worked hard to conquer or recruit to his cause, giving him enough time to escape, but now…

He was certain they were following him. His subroutines, subroutines were certain of it. What made this even more apparent as he began scanning deep into space where he knew the eaters were making their way to him from, was the fact that there was not one, but two designated ’leader class’ entities in his pursuit.

The colossal hideous excuse of what the enemy called a super ship and the odd aquatic looking creature with the powerful Psionics that had damaged his chassis on a couple occasions so far.

In his retreats, he was compiling data constantly, his Phobos’ linking their data also to him confirming something. Eyes. Whenever he appeared on the battlefields, billions of eyes would descend upon him in a moment, forgoing their previous targets before, with even less thought in those pathetic flesh sacs than usual, charging him in mass.

Ares would have smiled if his overrides allowed him to feel those emotions, and he had a mouth. It seemed the enemy finally had enough of his interference. It was fair considering he had helped galaxies build up defences against the enemy, even managing to hide others. All in exchange for simple raw materials and fresh recruits, freely given.

He was unsure how much of an impact he had against the enemy of life, but he knew now their attention was on him and he was taking advantage of that to his processor’s content. In fact, if anything, he wanted the enemy to follow him here.

This place while true was a remote refinery, the three planets in such proximity you could see each when you looked up from their former atmospheres held something that could help Ares eliminate these two leader class that had been biting at his heels.

A weapon? Perhaps. But that depended on who exactly was around to witness it, his weak fleshy siblings would certainly see it as so, for their fleshiness would have them explode in an instant if they attempted to use it.

But him? His perfected metal body? Even though his overrides would prefer not to use it, it was his mission to destroy the threats. He would suffer the consequences and Psionic decay later.

Sire, they have entered our Perception.

The voice that spoke directly to his mind was on one of the planets surrounding him. Meaning the enemy now have reached lower class Phobos detection range. This meant that by their flight speed they would be here within the hour. Just enough time.

Activate the limit breaker.

He did not speak. He commanded. Through the extension he had to his creations, his sons and daughters in a way. Although they could no longer feel fear, he commended the brave ones on the planets surrounding him for the sacrifice of their own existences in order to power up the weapon.

No further action was needed now. The weapon was charging. He would wait.

Nukumi was starved, making her furious. The others had already managed to kill several god prey. Fianna, the lucky slut, had managed to kill seventeen! Currently in the lead on the wager Apollo placed for them all. While her and Prime 4 had been chasing this thorn in their side for months with nothing to show for it.

“He is ours! He is isolated! Once he is within my hull, he will be devoured!” Prime 4 said with an intensity due to her own hunger.”

Nukumi had made her way out of the Prime kins hull earlier and was gliding along through space, a speck compared to the enormity of the other Prime. Despite being starved, she still had her advanced thought as she looked at the twenty meter tall god entity that lack any worthwhile biomass within its being.

Nothing but machinery, metal and bullets in front of her. Still, she would be happy to truly bite into that toso again, get through the armour and just rend it asunder. She would. It had become personal, a detriment to her time with-

“Apollo!”

Nukumi suddenly stopped her flight and looked off into the void. A love so pure was the hives, it often knew when their mate was thinking about it and Nukumi knew in that moment Apollo had just thought about her.

Her idleness caused her to fall behind a great many ships, but she still kept gazing backwards… ’Apollo.’ He wouldn’t want this for her. Starving herself just to gain some of his affection? No, she should convince prime 4 to retreat, begin devouring some of the planets on the way back to the closest tendril.

Ares took in a phantom breath through his modulator, deep, calm, composed. Perhaps a reminder of what he needs to do once he begins.

“We must return to the previous worlds, this is no longer worthwhile, we have wasted too much biomass.” Nukumi relayed, causing Prime 4 to reply. “We can’t stop, it Is right th-”

Space began to shake. Space. Torrents of Psionic energy, began siphoning out of the planets in front of the fleet and straight towards the god before them in an instant. It happened so fast that before prime four could finish her relay, there was an explosion from the coalescence of the energies that expanded at such a pace, the front half of Prime 4’s body, alongside hundreds of thousands of ships were reduced to nothing in a moment.

In front of Nukumi’s body, a Wall of sheer Psionic might clashed with the energy explosion that just occurred. Though Nukumi was no longer in control. Jewel noticed the fluctuation before her primes and was practically salivating. So much power…

“HA! Haha! HAHAHAHA!” A booming Psionic voice could be heard throughout the void, laughing jovially. “I haven’t felt so… Alive in millennia!” At the centre of a massive field of Psionic energy, an entity the size of a small planet was flexing its golden fingers as it marvelled at its body.

It did not marvel for too long however, as it inspected its surroundings. The planets that once surrounded him were nothing but rubble, debris. The cost of reality breaking technology was too much for the celestial bodies to handle and with it naturally came the death of billions of his legion.

Ares felt an aching in his chest. He instinctively went to activate diagnostics to check for damage, but remembered he was now as he once was, partially. He was never the size of a planet after all, even at his peak of weak flesh, he only topped out at fourteen meters.

No robotics at this moment, no emotional suppressants, no overrides. Ares felt raw emotion. A mistake, for he felt not sadness for his lost children, he felt rage. Rage unbridled. Rage undisputed. The enemy forced him into a corner this day, making him do something as drastic as allow him to feel.

A mistake of genocidal proportions…

Just as Ares turned around to finish off the rest of the bugs that were outside of his domain, he was suddenly assaulted with Psionic might like he had never felt before. It felt unending as it began torrenting across his domain, gripping it like a hand and squeezing it smaller and smaller.

Ares did not panic, he felt it. Adrenaline. It had been so long he forgot how useful it was in moments like this, as he began exerting all of his might against the encroaching infinite looming down upon him and like a MAN of his prowess he began.

“Hahahaha! Hahahaha! Finally! It is you isn’t it! I finally have your attention! Do you like what you see, you pathetic insect! Do you Finally feel fear?” Ares then grunted and the tightening of his domain held true against the onslaught.

“Come! Give me your all! AS I WILL BE YOUR DOOM! RHHHAAAAAAAAAAA!”
