Chapter 612: Dangerous Territory

As everyone closed their eyes and began focusing, Janine leaned up close next to me and whispered. “Apollo, what should I do? I can’t get in my Mindspace that fast and I doubt I would get popped by the teacher? Also, what is going to happen to me when we enter the Psionic plane? Won’t it be really obvious that I am not, you know, supposed to be there?”

I sat in silence for a moment thinking about what Miss Duvile just said about the avatar, the visage and what effect that might have on the body outside of the Mindspace… Using my telepathy I then connected with Janine and spoke to her mind.

’Don’t worry about that, I have a hunch you will be fine in that regard. As for your meditation, I think I have a cheat. Is it ok if I send a tendril through your barrier?’

Janine nodded her head immediately. Despite the risks of inviting another into your Mindspace, not only has Apollo done it multiple times already, but she trusted him beyond life with whatever he had planned.

Janine then hastily pressed her hand to her mouth to stop herself from moaning out in surprise as she felt a tendril press up against her Mindspace and slowly massage its way inside.

She felt her mind get heavier by the second, but she then felt a calling sensation coming from deep within her. A moment later, she was there. Inside her Mindspace, before her Origin that had just been tickled. She felt the urge to throw up at the sudden change of perception but composed herself and asked the big thick tendril that turned its tip towards her. “W-What did you just do?”

“An experiment. I am glad it worked out though, saves a lot of trial and error to get you in here. Now, don’t wake up and stay in here. I’ll branch out a tendril when it’s time you exit your Mindspace.”

Janine then watched as the Tendril left her Mindspace. The moment it did, she turned to her Origin and where it was touched and proceeded to feel a tingle of delight in her stomach. ’I want him to do that again… Whatever it was.’

Opening my eyes, I smiled. ’I can’t believe that worked so well. I should find another test dummy to see if it was a fluke or not. All I did was speak telepathically directly to the Origin telling it to pull herself in.’

I smiled at thinking if this was a common thing, but just not known because most people aren’t crazy enough to allow others inside of their Mindspace.

After that, I watched the classroom for the next fifty five minutes. A handful of individuals were able to enter their Mindspace’s. I even felt a sort of energy around Mithra as she was able to enter, I deduced it must have been the aura that Hailey mentioned earlier.

A lot of people were clearly struggling though. Their minds were clouded by the thought of getting their Mindspace popped like a balloon which did not help their headspace in getting into a meditative state.

With about a minute left before the pop-pocalypse, I closed my eyes and entered my Mindspace while simultaneously activating my Telepathy to find Janine. Once finding her Mindspace in the Psionic plane, it became visible to me outside of my Barrier.

However, I did not focus on it for long before a radiant beacon drew my attention not too far from my Mindspace.

A neon blue outline of a humanoid floated in the plane. As soon as she appeared, somehow I could begin to see other Mindspace’s and even Mindspace’s with shattered barriers. I was actually in awe. ’That is just asking to be attacked!’ I couldn’t help thinking.

The figure, who I assumed to be Miss Duvile was brimming with power. And although I was shocked by how brazen she was standing out there, I had to admit that the woman was seriously powerful, quite the contrast to her small, cute stature in the classroom.

Looking closer at her, I recognised she seemed to have faint outlines of her appearance, but my hypothesis was correct that outside of the Mindspace, you lose your created visage and become what you really are, a psionic blob of energy. It also explained why Jewel changed appearance whenever I dropped my barrier in the past.

I then looked over to Janine’s Mindspace and nodded realising she would be safe and look like the rest of us in this place. I then turned my attention back to Miss Duvile who took me by surprise as unknown to her, she was observing my Mindspace directly in front of me.

Elizabeth was looking around the Psionic plane as she appeared without her Mindspace manifesting around her. She spread her influence around her classroom and located their signatures around her

She was pleasantly surprised that a few were able to enter their Mindspace’s, but the rest she popped, their defences and used her power to drag their consciousnesses into the realm.

Elizabeth then began looking around at those Mindspace’s she had not had to pop effortlessly. ’Weak, Weak. A bit on the larger side, but flimsy. Weak, not bad. Weak. W-!!!’

Elizabeth paused to make sure she was not hallucinating. Her attention was brought to a Particular Mindspace. While it was large, it was not larger than hers, but what really drew her attention was the barrier.

In an instant, she traversed to the edge of the barrier and began inspecting it. She had to keep her emotions in check, but it was proving difficult. The barrier was battle tested. No doubt about that. But not just slightly battle tested… ’It’s like all it has done is receive damage its whole existence? Who would do this to someone? Such torture…’

She resisted the urge to reach out and touch the dense hexagonal pattern of the Barrier. A barrier that has taken so much damage to the point it’s acting like an internal, external Barrier manipulation, it must have so much active defence, even a simple touch could set off a plethora of anti Psionic attacks and she was currently very vulnerable.

She then darted back through the realm ever so slightly as a tendril emerged from the Barrier. Elizabeth looked at it apprehensively for a moment before realising it was non combative energy.

Reaching out, she grabbed the tendril and watched it wrap up her arm before hearing a voice. “Is everything alright Miss Duvile? I couldn’t help noticing, you noticing my barrier. Um, are you feeling upset? Have I done something wrong?”

Elizabeth recognised the voice, it was the man with the head on his shoulders and the hasty access to his Mindspace. ’No wonder he can access it so quickly he-’ She realised the power slowly putting her in a bondage wrap was Telepathy and removed all thoughts of emotion from herself and steeled her mind. ’-I am fine Mr Lambdason, You have a sturdy Mindspace for a first year is all. I might not be able to pull you out for the next part of the lesson is my main concern.’

’Mine too.’ I accidentally relayed before correcting my thought. ’I mean, don’t worry about that, I know how to leave my Mindspace, I just don’t for safety reasons. I like my mind to be sane after all. I can come out now if you like? ’

Elizabeth nodded. ’If you are able, do just that. And please, remove your tendril from my avatar, it is about to reach… Dangerous territory.’ I looked at what she meant and realised that due to her great strength, I had been putting in a bit too much power into my telepathy for it to connect with her and the tendril began growing up her arm and was now close to her chest.

I immediately recalled my power and took a deep ’breathe’ before massaging my way through my barrier to the outside. In an instant. I felt vulnerable. More vulnerable than I have ever been in my entire life.

I felt exposed from all angles, I felt gazes upon me that were not there. And even stranger, I felt the lack of presence that would have been Jewel’s presence usually, not surrounding me and that truly felt bizarre.

I let none of this show however and kept my emotions in check. The Psionic plane was a volatile place to experience raw emotion. Something could easily manifest from said emotion.

Evidence of this was Miss Duvile in front of me who I could feel perplexion and confusion from as she gave me a not so subtle up down. Without the barrier between us, I could hear my echo speak around me as I spoke out to Duvile.

“Miss Duvile, Is everything alright? I sense your confusion about something?”

The woman looked me up and down a few more times before asking the question. “Are you aware your avatar is still corporeal? If so, how have you done this?”
