Chapter 718: Inexplicit Reason

*THUD*

As soon as my stick made contact, Nerissa dropped down onto one knee, resting her hand on her other leg as she closed her eyes and began to breathe heavily.

Looking to my left, Orchid and Onyx mouths were agape at what they were seeing. I then looked further left towards the fireplace. Only one other had taken a blow so well after all.

After a minute passed, Nerissa’s breathing returned to normal before she got up, admittedly with a little wobble. Once she stood up, she looked at me with her pure white eyes, before letting out a.

“Brrrr.”

Her whole body shuddered. “That was the grossest thing I have ever experienced. Lesson well learnt. Don’t take things that don’t belong to me.”

“Was it that bad? When Apollo did it to the intruder last time it was so much worse. He barely tapped you.” Janine queried, prompting me to reply.

“Just watch, Nerissa is built differently. Orchid, Onyx. Do you want to explain the rest of the shirts?” I then pointed with the stick to the remaining five on the table.

The duo looked between one another and as they turned back to answer

I immediately dropped the stick on the table and grabbed my two loves as they began to seize. I hit them a bit harder than Nerissa as they had taken more, so the effects were a bit more intense.

Cradling both their heads, I dragged them to the floor and held them close, stroking their hairs and whispering, flooding their Mindspace’s with my telepathy and my love for them to help them collect themselves faster.

“Whoah!” Janine exclaimed. Orchid and Onyx were stronger than Apollo from what she knew, so for those two to be out of the count with a simple hit of the metal rod… She got goosebumps.

Nerissa looked at the duo. Having experienced it, she understood how her allies reacted that way. The sensation, while completely different to the Anti Psionic training she had undertaken, not being nearly as offensive… That rod had something else about it that attacked deeper than just her Psionic form on contact.

Looking at the weapon on the table, she tried to glean its secrets from just peering at it. Her thoughts, despite sickening her, thought of picking it up and holding it for a moment, but as she had that thought, It suddenly flickered with an unnatural, even by Anti Psionics standards, flame that made her think twice.

A few minutes later, I had allowed the sexy duo time to milk their post recovery grogginess before signalling to them with nothing but my muscle tension that it was time to get off.

As the duo got back onto the couch, they were all smiles again, knowing the punishment ended there, or so they thought…

I turned to my left once again and spoke to the room. “Sol? Do you want snuggles tonight? Or back to the Mindspace?” The fireplace crackled outwards and a moment later Sol took form, her hands on her hip, being seductive.

“Like you even need to ask? My Kindled. I enjoy feeling your flesh against my body as I watch you sleep. It soothes me.” I smiled at my smoking hot lady’s response before turning to Janine.

“Are you tired yet? I feel like going to sleep. Sol is a good first time for sharing the bed.”

Janine practically jumped off the couch. “Yeah! I am tired! As long as she doesn’t burn me while I sleep I will share the bed with anyone as long as you are in it!” Her excited reaction warmed my heart.

“Very well. Goodnight everyone. Sapphire, do you want to sleep with us too?” I asked.

“Moo.” She declared.

“Very well, you go back into the Mindspace then. Good job at keeping the thieves from stealing my stuff. As for you two. Spend the night in reflection and Onyx, no jumping into my Mindspace.”

Finally I turned to Nerissa before passing her one of my shirts and winked playfully. “Like I said, one is fine. Goodnight everyone.”

Once Apollo ascended the stairs, Orchid looked at the t-shirts on the table and sighed. ’No more snacks…’ She couldn’t help thinking with great sadness. It was like taking little pieces of Apollo and consuming them. It was extremely enjoyable… ’Such a shame.’ She was then about to get up, before she felt Onyx’s big green eyes staring at her weirdly.

“What?”

Onyx smirked more, seeing Orchid frustrated. “Oh nothing. I was just wondering since we are sharing a bed tonight… Do you prefer being the big spoon or the little spoon?”

The space where Onyx just resided in then ceased to house her and a fraction of a second later, a fist was in trajectory where her face was.

At the top of the stairs, Onyx was now laughing. As she proceeded to make her way towards Orchid’s room without a care in the world, prompting the purple haired beauty to begin growling in annoyance before following after her.

Meanwhile Nerissa was still standing there. Shirt in hand. A few moments later her armour came undone and with it more leaves fell out of her suit, but she would clean them up momentarily.

Looking at the shirt for a few moments in silence, she ultimately shrugged her shoulders as she thought. ’He did give me permission now. So why not?’ She then proceeded to place the shirt over her skin suit and observed herself.

She had not worn standard clothes in a very long time, a stola sometimes when she had an extended period in the barracks, but never something like this. For pyjamas though? She liked them. They still smelled like her friend and that made her happy. The thought of which left her to ultimately think.

“My Seer!” A male Akrokra and an entourage of guards awaited Aeletha upon her landing at the penal colony. She lifted her nose up, to take in the scents around her. A mining colony from what she could smell. While she did so, the Akrokra continued.

“Empress Qurekaw sent a communication to us when you departed. We have been monitoring the prisoner you are inquiring about. Kwiaraock.”

Aeletha reached out to her side, at which point Rekosh passed her, her cane as she descended the ramp of her ship. “Very good guardsman. Anything to report about the prisoner in question? Is she ready for interrogation?”

At her simple question, a silence took over the guards, only the faint sound of their feathers bristling giving away their emotions, prompting her to frown.

“What is wrong? Do not keep your beaks closed, tell me.” She asked, politely. She was still here on her own reasoning after all. She had no right to boss them around.

“Your Seer requests you to answer her, Speak!” Rekosh stepped forward, doing his job, but the simple touch on his shoulder from the sheer then stunned him.

“Rekosh, I appreciate your intention, but we are guests, don’t be rude. Our friend here was building up the nerve to tell me some bad news. But it is ok for him to speak the truth. There is no reason for me to be mad at him for that.”

Hearing the Seers’ not so subtle way of easing the guard, the Akrokra hopped forward and explained. “Well, my Seer. The truth is something has happened. The moment the Empress informed us to keep our eye on Kwiaraock, she began acting strange.”

Aeletha raised an eyebrow. “Oh?” She simply said, urging the guard to continue.

“Yes, almost minutes afterward she caused a fight. Then the next day another. Then we put her in confinement, then she wouldn’t take her daily baths. She hasn’t had a single one. Her feathers are a mess and falling out in places. It’s a sight. It’s so bizarre as up to this point, she has been a model prisoner. No hassle for her entire time here. I truly think something strange is happening.”

Aeletha pouted her lip as she pondered curiously for a moment. This was bizarre. “Very well, take me to her. I am an expert on the bizarre after all.”

Aeletha was then escorted, not far, to where the nearby penitentiary was. Once inside she was escorted through several wings. She almost chuckled at one point when Rekosh let out a surprised gasp at seeing a fellow Starforged in a prison this far west, but it was inconsequential.

She was eventually brought to a padded cell. With a view visor.

“Rekosh, tell me what is inside the room.” She asked curiously. Rekosh then got on his knees to look through the visor, built for the Akrokra guards before he said. “It’s just an Akrokra. It is very dishevelled. Nothing else in there except for the table it is currently chained to.”

“Really? How interesting.”

Aeletha couldn’t help but wonder. As for some inexplicit reason, despite all her power, she had a bad feeling about entering that room…
