Max waited outside his own apartment as no one opened the door. Soon, he heard someone walking closer to the door and then peeking through the peephole. The way the person moved inside unpredictably made it clear to Max who it was.

With a smooth clicking sound, the door opened wide. Blanka stood there with an angry expression on her face. Behind her lay Danica on the couch, sound asleep. Max didn’t know what he did to anger this princess.

“Why didn’t you take me with you?”

“I thought you might need some rest.”

“I was not that tired.”

She took the pizza boxes from his hand and even waited for him to enter before closing the door. Max looked at her with an appreciating look, which she just ignored with a pout.

“Should I wake Danica up?”

“Let her sleep some more. Let’s eat the pizza in that room without disturbing her. Do you drink beer?”

“I have never drunk beer before. You decide, Maxi.”

“I have actually never drunk it either. Let’s take two. If we can, we drink. Otherwise, I brought along this soda can as well. We can share that.”

Max held two bottles of beer and a can of soda in his hand while Blanka took the salami pizza with her, and they went to the small bedroom and closed the door, as their noise might wake Danica up, but didn’t lock it.

Max sat on the plush armchair while Blanka jumped on the bed. She very skillfully opened the box, and the warm aroma of the pizza filled the air. Blanka took the first slice in her hand. She looked like she was very hungry.

Max first opened the two beer bottles. He used the steel bar of the nearby cabinet to open them with force, then handed one to Blanka and took a slice of the pizza and ate pizza after maybe four to five years.

“This beer tastes good.”

“It does. It goes well with pizza.”
