Chapter 117: You Hold Three
The moment this thought had taken root in Elias’s mind, he knew he could not let go of it. His battle with the Flesh Mauler had shown him that his Talent, Extreme Adaptation, craved chaos and danger, and trying to avoid this state of being would lead to backlash.
As a Wisp, it would be foolhardy to believe he could control an Elder Talent. Although Elias did not know the ranking for Talent, he would be a fool to regard a Talent that could increase his Attributes so drastically as anything less than a peak-level talent.
He could not control this talent that was hellbent on setting him on a path for destruction, but he could guide it on a path of his choosing, and if his Talent wanted chaos and danger, then Elias believed he should be able to kill two birds, no three birds with one stone.
Why not gain several Lumina Arts, and no matter the burden this would place on his body, his Extreme Adaptation would take this chaos as fuel to further his growth. Elias did not believe that he would be able to create a miracle if he followed this path.
Perhaps he was making a mistake here, and doing this would destroy him in body and soul; however, this was going to be the most important decision he would be making in his life, according to the Commander, and while he did not fully believe that statement, Elias was far too greedy to settle for less.
He had always chased dangers and thrills, underneath his calm facade was a monster who wanted to only live life on the edge, and he asked himself a question: would he want to live a thousand years as a mediocre individual or a decade as a star whose light would rival all the stars there had ever been, and the answer to this question in his heart was simple… he would choose to live even for one year, if he pursued the limits of his dreams.
Elias had been willing to choose one out of three because he did not know there was an option to pick more, and now that the opportunity presented itself, why would he run from it?
“A Lumina Scripture may take me to the peak of this world, but it is incomplete, and I may never be able to complete it for the rest of my life, not because I am not strong enough, but because there may come situations in the future where strength is not enough. However, with two complete Lumina Arts added to the mix, I would not be without options in the future, no matter the situation I find myself in.”
With these thoughts in mind, Elias’ desire for the last two Lumina Art followed through the Runes of Bonding, and they were drawn into his Lumina Space.
Unlike the Lumina Scripture, Elias did not feel any sort of discomfort as the two Lumina Arts entered his body, and when they appeared inside the infinite void, they hovered in the air as if they were a bit lost, but it was only for a moment.
The last thirty pools began to vibrate more rapidly, and the two cores were drawn to them like iron to a magnet. They hovered over the pools, and then they began emitting a suction force that pulled on the pools below them.
Elias watched with tense breath as thin strands of purple Lumina began to rise from the pools like tentacles, and one by one they began to pierce the bloody sun and the stone.
The two cores shivered, and with a loud cracking sound, they began to expand. The orb was growing like a massive bubble of blood, and the stone was transforming into a mountain.
At the moment, the Heavenly Vein Art, Crimson Vein Dominion, had been connected to ten of his Lumina Pools, but what was most fascinating was that the so-called Common grade Art had also claimed ten Lumina pools, and Elias could feel a subtle battle ongoing between the expanding orb of blood and the growing mountain.
His last ten unclaimed pools had sent out tentacles, but they were wavering in the air as if they were being pulled in opposite directions.
His suspicion was correct; there was no way that a Common Grade Art should be able to compete with a Heaven Grade Art, and the Commander had even said Common Grade Arts did not possess cores. He wondered why his Status Screen had claimed it was a Common Grade Art then.
It was also clear that these Lumina Arts needed more than ten pools of Lumina for their bonding, but Elias had only this much for them.
The subtle clash between these two Arts continued to increase, and Elias grew impatient, and he sent out his Will to these two, with a single word, “Share!”
He could as well be screaming into the void as nothing happened, and Elias nearly chuckled in anger. This was his body and his Lumina Pools, and his will was paramount. With that thought, he sent out another command, with his intent behind it, “Share!”
This time, these two competing Lumina Art paused, and they must have sensed something in his Will, as they settled down, the tentacles from the last ten pools were equally divided and they were linked to what was now a massive blood sphere the size of a twenty storey tower which was about 150 meters tall and 500 meters in circumference, and a mountain that was not too tall, standing at 500 meters.
Elias breathed a sigh of relief as a disbelieving laughter threatened to break out of his body, but he relaxed, and now that he knew that these Lumina Arts were not necessarily alive but could sense his Will, Elias spoke to them.
“I know that you may need more pools of Lumina for your upkeep, but look around you. My pools have no boundaries, and they shall endlessly expand.”
A subtle hum emerged from the blood orb and the mountain, and Elias chose to take that as a sign of acceptance, and he smiled before removing his consciousness from this space and opening his eyes to see the Commander’s resigned look.
Elias scratched his head in a self-deprecating manner and bowed to her, “Commander… eh, Master, I have accepted the Cores of the Lumina Arts and Scripture.”
“Now you call me master?” Commander Yseult sighed, “Perhaps this is fate, and you are not someone who was meant to live for a long time. I brought the Arts to you as Fate decided, and you took the plunge as is your nature.”
Elias frowned. The words from the Commander were alarming. He knew he had told himself that he would prefer to live for a year, but that was just a figure of speech, and now that it was being hinted at that he would not live for a long time, he could not help but panic a bit.
“Master, is it not possible to hold multiple Lumina Arts?”
Commander Yseult laughed, “Of course it is possible, but all who tries dont take more than two Arts, and they are all dead before they reach the Void Sentinel Stage.”
