Chapter 61: The Willing Sacrifice
Saying these words was not hard for Elias, even though he did not recognize this language. Elias spoke many languages due to his perfect memory and intelligence, and with the voice of the Passenger perfectly translating the words of this monster to him, it was an easy thing for him to play around with the words.
The tiny head of the creature whipped towards his direction, but due to the amount of flesh that extended below her neck, Elias doubted that this monster could see him, not that it would matter because her tools for maneuvering through the world were with her spawns.
Elias felt his teeth set into place, and he glanced at the present state of his body,
Vitality: 489 / 2385
Stamina: 75 / 613
It was not a lot, but it was better than it had any right to be, especially after all the ridiculous damages he had suffered.
The body of the monster began to lean down, and Elias grimaced when he heard the sound of dozens of full breasts being squashed under her weight, causing a flood of black and yellow milk, smelling of rot and decay.
As the monster continued leaning forward, more of her full breasts were squeezed together, and the stream of rotten milk pouring across the ground turned to a flood, and in the blink of an eye, they covered the entire chamber, and Elias’s feet were soaked up to his ankle.
He felt sharp tingling pain radiating from his feet upwards, as well as his vitality dropping a couple of points, and he knew that this liquid was poisonous. He was a bit worried at first, and then he felt the heat that had been spreading up his legs vanish, and his health stopped ticking down.
Did his body adapt to the poison, or was it something else? As far as he could tell, his adaptation only happened after a while and not immediately, but maybe placing twenty points into Esoteric was finally causing changes to how this talent worked?
Finally, with half her body pressed into the ground, the beautiful face of the woman could see him with her eyes.
She sniffed multiple times, drawing impossibly long breaths into her body, and a look of ecstatic obsession came over her face as if the smell of Elias was the greatest thing to ever pass through her nostrils.
Elias knew that opening all of his hundred pools had caused his body to release a certain fragrance, but he thought the Swarm had already devoured them completely; it would seem that some of it still lingered around him, and may have been what had drawn the attention of this monster to him.
Her eyes suddenly grew serious, and she drew back her head, in an almost regal manner, and Elias could see that without this bloated abomination of a body, this was a woman who rivaled the commander in beauty, and he almost found himself wanting to bow to her.
Flickering behind her head was what Elias could only call a shadow of light; it hovered behind her head like a crown, but it was dim, as if a power shackled its glow. Elias could feel a distinct connection between that glow and the Pillar of Sorrow within him, and he knew this creature was extremely powerful; however, due to his current Stage, most of her powers were shackled, and she could only rely on her weak, fleshy body.
With her head raised, the creature spoke, and Elias grimaced in pain, not just from her voice, but also from the Passenger who was simultaneously translating her words in his head.
“Thraem’voryn… saethar enu vael’kyris thraem vael’voryn saethar?”
“Broken one… do you willingly offer yourself as the shattered sacrifice to this Throne?”
Elias did not answer. What could he say to a question like that? Besides, he was not here to converse with this monster; he did not know how the creatures in this Fragment became like this, but they were already dead and rotten, and it seemed something beyond Lumina kept them in a state that was not life, yet not death, and he did not know if this was the reason for their madness.
He had called out to her, even when he knew it was a mistake, because Elias wanted her to know who was going to be killing her, and after that was done, there was no longer any need to speak.
Perhaps he could gain unknown knowledge from her, but he knew that such knowledge would be heavily laced with madness. This was no longer a being where wisdom could be found in their mouth, only poison.
He slowly walked towards her, and his stride increased. At first, the monster seemed confused, but quickly, realization seemed to dawn on her, and a fleeting look of sadness passed through her blue eyes, before that moment of clarity vanished, and only hunger and pain took its place.
A deafening screech emerged from her mouth, as it stretched wider than it should, tearing her cheeks open to reveal the rotten teeth beneath. Her body began to rise back into the air. If she had one weakness, it should be her delicate head, and this monster knew it. The rest of her body was a mountain of fat, and if she did not move and allow Elias slice into her, he would remain here for days without making much progress.
Now Elias began to run towards her as the umbilical cords that surrounded her like webs began to rise like pythons emerging from a river.
However, he had long expected this change; he reached for one of the squirming tentacles with his bladed right hand, and pierced it, and his body was dragged towards her even faster than he could run.
After watching the movements of the Umblical cords, Elias knew that this monster sent out its spawns to roam, but they could rapidly be drawn back to her anytime, and inside this massive chamber, he would be flooded by hundreds of bodies in a few seconds, and his death was assured.
However, it was the mechanism that would be her doom. The bladed hand that dug into the cord gave him an impossible grip strength, and when the massive creature began to recall her spawns, the umbilical cords were drawn into the massive fleshy hole in her stomach, and Elias holding fast to this cord, was pulled into that fleshy hole.
He had only a moment to draw in a deep breath before he was swallowed by the fleshy crater, and he was enclosed by darkness. He did not let go of the cord, and he was continuously being pulled deeper into this creature, as the wet and slimy flesh began to slowly close around him.
A sudden cry of rage erupted from the creature, and even enclosed by hundreds of tonnes of flesh, Elias could still hear it. His plan must have been discovered by her, and immediately, he could feel the cord he was holding beginning to squirm, and Elias let go of it.
The surrounding flesh had been loose before, it had to be for the gigantic babies to be pushed out of this creatures body, and even though he was in darkness, he could feel the flesh surrounding him begin to compress rapidly and Elias groaned as his ribs cracked further and air was squeezed out of his lungs.
Elias was already prepared for something like this as he extended the blades from his left hand too and he stabbed into the flesh above his head.
