Chapter 141: You Are Stubborn
The particles that had followed the tear in the Heavenly Canopy numbered in the hundreds; each was lighter than a feather, but as they fell, even the wind could not shake them, because they were a thing of contradiction.
While the void was boundless and infinite, and there were many spots where energy was prevalent, there were few places in the universe like Trion, where Lumina, the very essence of the gods and daemons, could be found in such volume, as the very air in the upper atmosphere seethed with this power.
Few Siphons would realize that while the Lumina on the ground below was incredibly thin, to the extent that the only way to grow as a Siphon would be to kill, what was available in the heavens was impossibly bountiful, and this resource was only available to the few.
However, if a Fury Forge, or even a Mist Phantom, reached this place, they would not be able to take advantage of this Lumina before they were turned to ash, and the least requirement for a Siphon to even reach the heavens was to be at least at the Void Sentinel Stage.
The falling particles passed through clouds of burning red and blue Lumina so hot that it was as if they were crossing through the core of a star.
These particles were the smallest and weakest unit of the entity that was pursuing the Echo, and many of the particles falling through the clouds of Lumina were burnt to ash.
From hundreds, they shrank to less than fifty, and when they finally passed this layer of Lumina, they were only a dozen left. Still, it was amazing that even this much had survived. The Void Echo that had assaulted Elias was only able to easily reach him because Incursions were a natural rule of Trion, and so it had a direct passage to Elias. If it had descended just like these particles, it would have long been destroyed within the clouds of Lumina.
Yet the danger was not over… of the dozens that survived, half were too battered to continue, and so they converged towards the strongest particle, giving out the last of their vitality before they collapsed into ash, leaving eight of these particles left.
Following the invisible trail that was focused on Elias, the eight particles descended, and then they hit the next great obstacle, Heavenly Restrictions.
Elias knew of the Heavenly Restriction that covered the entirety of Stormfall like a dome, but what he was not aware of was that there were several other Heavenly Restrictions above the city of Stormfall, each of them were many times more powerful than the dome over the city, and they worked to seal off the borders between land and sea, among other duties.
If this were any other city that did not border three great danger zones, the mountain range, the desert and the ocean, then these eight particles could have easily pierce through the dome covering Stormfall, as it was, they had to endure lightning strikes as they tire through the restrictions, and it would appear that their greatest weaknesses were lightning, as one by one they began to turn to ash.
When they pierced through the restrictions, only two remained, and these two had barely half their energy capacity, and many components inside them were damaged, so they drifted through the Heavenly Restriction dome of Stormfall. They could no longer home in on Elias and could only drift down into the city.

Luka, a Junior Scribe, had been lucky to follow the Lord Captain Veyris on his expedition to deliver the crown’s will in this city. As a peak level Fury Forge, and a Junior Scribe who had at least twenty years to give to his vocation before he becomes an Advanced Scribe, Luka had no reason to be here on an expedition of this magnitude that involve a freaking angel, but it is as they say, when the door of opportuinty was open, even pigs would fly, or was it horses that would fly, Luka could not tell, not that he could think straight with the sheer andrenaline running through his veins.
He had been the one to submit the report to Lord Captain Veyris, and before the man had left, he had informed him to pursue more means of enquiry, and that was what Luka was going to do.
With the authority of the Lord Captain’s order over his shoulder, Luka found his way towards the Stoneward Asylum. Even after hours of maneuvering through the city in order to find his way to this place, his enthusiasm had not waned.
He was sure that he had been misdirected many times, as he was making his way to the Asylum, Luka did not give up. The people of this city seemed to hold the Asylum with reverence, and he had seen faces turn to frown the moment he said he was here on the order of the crown to question the members of the Order.
Looking back now, it should have been the wiser option to have held back the reason he wanted to visit the Asylum, but those were all water under the bridge; he had finally made it to the Asylum, and as a bonus, he had fished out several spots where the food must be very good.
Luka always had a great sense of smell, and one of the reasons he was allowed to be among the Senior Scribes was because he could take them to the best eating spots in any locality they found themselves in.
Stormfall was a city of surprise for Luka; its location was at the edge of the world, and for a city that had no links to any other major city, the only way to reach it was by teleportation. It was a surprisingly vibrant city and was suspiciously prosperous.
How did the ruler of the city get the funds to operate it at such a level? Luka smelled a mystery here, but that was not his task; a new Ascendant Candidate had been born, and he was here to request his records directly from the Asylum itself.
If Luka had gone to any of the Senior Scribes before he took this trip, they would have advised him that this was a foolish move, as the Order of Unbroken Shield had jurisdiction outside this continent, and as Scribes, they could not simply request anything from them without following the proper channels.
It was under the right of the Order to lock up Luka if they felt he was going beyond his station, he could even be severely punished, and in an Orde Outpost like this with a presiding Angel over it, Luka could be executed and his death would be reduced to one line in a record, and the only punishment the Order would face would be a heavy fine.
However, you could not blame Luka for this error in reasoning; every Junior Scribe was fed with propaganda about the omnipotence of the throne, but only the smart ones would realize that there were fourteen thrones, and all of them were claiming supremacy.
Luka was never known for being very smart, but he was stubborn and knew how to seize opportunities if they presented themselves.
Standing a few hundred feet from the Asylum, Luka suddenly shuddered, and looking at the massive structure that resembled a gigantic bird that seemed about to take flight, he suddenly regretted that he was reaching the Asylum at night, even though three moons blazed overhead.
