Chapter 143: You Want Answers
Stormfall was a city with law and order, and the presence of a powerful Lord with a strong army that oversaw everything happening lent itself to that image. However, Stormfall was still a very big city with millions of residents, and it was inevitable that chaos and rot would slip through the cracks of order and take root in the city.
Every adult had an inherent ability for growth as long as they could kill, and although this was difficult, especially in a place like Stormfall, where it was hard to find weak monsters, there was always a market for the best kinds of prey… humans.
The woman being raped had a blade sticking out of her chest, and she was dying, but as a Fury Forge, her life was hard to end, and it would take a few minutes before she perished… perhaps if she could find a way to get to a healer, she might still be saved, but her will to live was gone, and her eyes was only on her child who was breathing his last.
If she had known that this day would be like this, then she would have waited for her husband to return before she left the house with their child, but how could she have known that she could have been ambushed out of nowhere, pushed into this alley and in the blink of an eye, her only child and her would be on the verge of death.
“Little plum, I am sorry,” she slowly mouthed as she saw the last of the vitality leave the body of her child.
She tried to move, but the man who was humping her dying body irritatedly slapped away her reaching hand, and with a short giggle, pulled out the blade in her heart before stabbing it back diagonally, once, twice, and then he buried the blade for the last time in her throat.
Since the woman underneath him refused to make any sound that he liked, the man decided that he was tired of hearing her call out for the brat, and as long as the body under him was still warm, he would enjoy himself as much as possible, and when he harvested the Lumina inside her body, it would be the final push he needed to reach the peak of Fury Forge, and who knows, the chance of Mist Phantom might come a decade or so from now, and his lifespan would increase by another hundred years!
The woman shuddered as her life left her body faster, and the only wish in her heart, even though she knew it was impossible, was to transfer all that she had to her boy… she was supposed to keep him safe; how could she just be watching him die and not be able to do anything?
Perhaps it was because she was on the verge of death that she saw it… the particle was as small as a grain of sand, but in the eyes of the woman, it took the form of a thing of darkness, with too many tentacles, falling into the open wound on the stomach of her son and tearing its way into it.
The body of the boy began to convulse as white foam left his mouth, and his limbs slapped the ground so hard that he was cracking his own bones. Looking at the child that was violently convulsing, the rapist laughed aloud. He had seen hundreds, maybe thousands of death throes, but he had never seen anything like this.
“Yeah, keep fighting for your life, boy,” he gasped in between thrusts, “You are keeping your old woman warm for me… so.. Ugh… keep fighting.”
Sorrow filled the eyes of the dying mother as she watched the body of her son arched from the ground, his body bending into a shape that was slowly defying common sense as his head and toes were on the ground while his back was arched upwards, alongside sickening pops and cracks as bones rearranged themselves inside his body.
Then it was over, and his body collapsed to the ground; all signs of life were gone. The rapist paused as he looked at the dead child. He had been a bit freaked out in the end when the body of the boy began to contort, but now that the child was fully dead, he let out a sigh of relief that he did not know he was holding and chuckled self-deprecatingly, “What in the hells are they feeding the kids these days?”
Suddenly the desire to continue raping the woman beneath him lessened, but he was not a man who knew how to give up halfway, and who knew how long before he got this chance anymore… finding such top grade flesh to enjoy was getting more difficult with each passing day unless he was willing to pay an obscene amount of money to be provided withs such services.
He had two working hands and legs, dammit, and a dick that could pierce through a metal plate… he would do his own hunting rather than become like those fat nobles in their tower that wait for prey to be delivered to their beds.
“Lock in… lock in…” he gasped as he continued pumping with increasing gusto. He had been observing the face of the woman underneath, going through various stages of emotion, and yet what he saw when he glanced at her face was wrong… her dying eyes now held puzzlement and horror, and she was looking to the side as if something was wrong.
Did the body of her child finally break her mind? The man muttered to himself as he turned to look at the body of the child, and then hw froze, because the boy was no longer lying dead on the ground, but crouched three feet away from them with an amused look in his black eyes as he must have been observing him rape his mother for a while now.
The man froze in place, unable to comprehend what he was looking at; his eyes fell to the stomach of the boy that still bore a vicious wound, but he could see that the insides of the boy’s stomach were moving in unnatural motions, as if his intestines had transformed into snakes.
When the man had looked up, the child had been smiling with his eyes focused on his mother’s face, and a chill went through the spine of the man when he realized that for at least two minutes, the woman had a look of puzzlement and horror on her face.
The boy’s eyes left his mother’s face and turned to him, “Mister, why did you stop?”
His voice was clear like that of a chirping bird, filled with innocence and curiosity, and yet with that smile on his face coupled with the sort of question the child was asking, the rapist was frozen in place as fear and horror turned his muscles to ice. He knew with every fiber of his body that he was not looking at a boy but something else.
Not getting an answer from the man, the boy’s black eyes began to slowly transform into yellow, “I said, why did you stop?”
