That young Moon-Eating Serpent was able to devour that moon because of its innate power, the Devouring Power.

Just like what the name states, this divine beast has the power to devour stuff.

But this devouring power of the Moon-Eating Serpent has some rules set on it too.

First, only matter can be devoured the Moon-Eating Serpent. Anything else like energy cannot be devoured by the Moon-Eating Serpent.

Second, the amount of the matter that the Moon-Eating Serpent can swallow depends on its level of power.

Third, the Moon-Eating Serpent will get stronger the more matter it devours.

Fourth, if the Moon-Eating Serpent devours a living creature, it can obtain all the memories that the living creature had.

This means that all the memories of Lin Xiang and his partners will be available to Fang Lin.
