“Enemy alert!!!” All the soldiers in the barracks started to wake up as they saw some of their comrades being attacked by a shadowy creature.

“What the hell? What is a shadow demon doing here? We are near the territory of Demon King Seigneur, not the territory of Demon King Nyx!” One of the soldiers shouted as they clambered to attack the shadowy figure.

Fang Lin, who was mixed in with the crowd, acted like he was angry and anxious as he joined the other soldiers to attack the shadowy figure.

But no matter what attacks the soldiers did, the shadowy figure dodged them with ease.

“S**t!” Upon seeing that its sneak attack has failed, the shadowy figure cursed out as it suddenly left the area.

Everyone in the barracks could only watch as the shadowy figure left, leaving behind dozens of injured soldiers.

Nobody died from the attack, which made everyone sigh in relief.

“Quick! Tend to the injured!” Fang Lin shouted as he approached some of the injured soldiers. They need some medical attention!”

After hearing what Fang Lin said, the soldiers broke out of their stupor as they began treating their injured comrades.

“I could not believe that a shadow demon just dared to attack us here.” One of the soldiers behind Fang Lin muttered. “Why did that shadow demon even come here?”

“Well, at least nobody died.” Fang Lin said as he began wrapping bandages on one of the wounded soldier.

“Yeah, at least we have 0 deaths.” The soldier nodded as he assisted Fang Lin on giving first aid.

“What the hell happened here!” A booming voice suddenly appeared in the military barracks, which made Fang Lin smile inwardly.

He looked at the direction of the sound, and there he saw a livid Bai Huangdi looking at the chaos below him.

Right behind Bai Huangdi was Veronica, who was currently frowning, and Illusion Fang Yu, who looked like she had a fresh sleep.

“Hero!” Every soldier in the barracks began to salute Bai Huangdi as one of them began to talk. “Permission to talk, Hero.”

“You may talk now.” Bai Huangdi said as he approached the injured soldiers. He waved his hands, and a green stream of liquid went out of him which began to cover the injured soldiers.

Moments later, and all the injured soldiers were fully healed. Fang Lin was slightly awed by what he saw as he thought that he wanted to take a closer look on that green liquid.

“Hero, there is a shadow demon that attacked us 2 minutes earlier!” One of the soldiers said as the injured soldiers began to bow in front of Bai Huangdi. “It only left when it saw that all of us are awake…”

“Any casualties that you hid from me?” Bai Huangdi asked as he looked around him. “I do not see any corpses around me.”

“Fortunately, nobody was killed, Hero.”

“Now that makes me suspicious…” Bai Huangdi muttered as he casted a suspicious gaze towards Veronica, who glared back at him.

“What is your problem, huh?” Veronica snapped back as she saw Bai Huangdi’s doubtful gaze.

She then saw that even Illusion Fang Yu was also looking at her with suspicion.

“Woosh~” Bai Huangdi suddenly flew away from the barracks, followed by Illusion Fang Yu and the livid Veronica.

As for Fang Lin, he stayed behind as he tried to mingle with the other soldiers.

“Hmph! I know nothing about this!” Veronica hissed as she gave Bai Huangdi a threatening look. “Do you think I will be that stupid to send a shadow demon to attack some weak soldiers? Hell, I would not do that!”

Veronica then gave Bai Huangdi a venomous look as she continued talking.

“Maybe you are the one that have orchestrated this attack as a way to implicate me. That is more believable than the accusations that you just said.”

“And now I am the one at fault? Wow, you are so stupid to think of that.” Bai Huangdi said as he began to show some intent of attacking. “You think that you can avoid responsibility just by shifting the blame? Good luck with that!”

“Umm… can I say something?” Illusion Fang Yu said as she raised her hands hesitantly. “Do we really need to quarrel about this?”

“Of course we should!” Both Bai Huangdi and Veronica said as they yelled at Illusion Fang Yu. “There is no way for us to resolve this problem without finding the real culprit!”

“Okay then…” Illusion Fang Yu then started to whistle as she tried to drown out the argument between Bai Huangdi and Veronica, which had turned into a shouting match by now.
