You can say that being in this regiment is a punishment in itself. Because of that and the innate hostility between the soldiers of this regiment, no suitable leader has sprung out to lead them.”

Fang Lin gave a nod after hearing this, showing that he understood this reason. However, that still could not shake off something that he had been thinking about earlier.

“Wait, so what does this regiment do?” Fang Lin asked to the soldier directly, ignoring the heated gazes being thrown at him. “If this regiment is like a punishment in itself, then what are its members are supposed to do?”

“Oh, it’s actually just simple.” The solider replied as he gave Fang Lin a sympathetic gaze. “All the dirty and unwanted jobs will be solely done by the Ruffian Regiment, while the rest of the military does the decent jobs.”

“Oh.” Fang Lin just let out this reply as he made a gesture of shooing the soldier away. “You can leave me now. Let me… just deal with my problems by my own now.”

Fang Lin’s voice sounded neutral, not showing his real emotions to the soldier. Of course the soldier knew that Fang Lin was extremely angry, and he was just extremely good at hiding it.

“Okay, its goodbye then.” The soldier did not dare to stay any longer, as he could feel the atmosphere turning more and more hostile. He immediately left the area, not even attempting to look back.

While he was going away, the solider muttered to himself,

“I wish you luck, young lad.”

At the instant that the soldier left, Fang Lin gave a challenging smile to the soldiers of the Ruffian Regiment as he said,

“Since you are all itching for a fight, then I will give you all a fight!”

“Oh, I just have one of your soldiers put that guy on the Ruffian Regiment.” Princess Elissa replied with traces of mischievousness in her features. “Hehehe, let us see how long that pesky guy will last there!”

“You are so bad, little sis.” The masked person said as he let out a sigh. “When can you stop doing things like these? You are already 18, for Emperor’s sake!”

The princess just let out a giggle in reply, looking unapologetic.

Suddenly, they heard rapid knocks on the door.

The masked person gave the permission to enter, and the door swung open as a pale-looking soldier rushed into the room.

This soldier was the same soldier that brought Fang Lin to the Ruffian Regiment earlier. His breath was harried, and he looked like he run quite quickly just to get here.

“Great General, I have a bad news to report!” The solider said as he gave the masked person a salute.

“What is that bad news huh? I just had enough of them today.” The masked person sighed as he waved his hands. “Go on, say it now.”

The soldier, upon receiving the approval to speak, did not mince his words as he said,

“There has been a great ruckus in the Ruffian Regiment, and I fear that if we do not do anything to stop it right now, the whole military will be placed in jeopardy!”
