“Won’t I get in the way?” Ayen instead of answering because it was already obvious.

Ayen wanted to come with them; the only thing holding him back was his combat power being absolute zero.

“Not at all,” the two quickly dismissed Ayen’s worries.

Devion assured Ayen. “We can protect you.” It might be harder to fight, but they never refuse any challenge.

“We’ll worry more if you’re alone here,” Khal added, and Devion nodded.

Being distracted was worse than looking out with another person in the middle of the fight.

Seeing them confident, Ayen could only agree. On a positive note, his presence would make it easier for the two to recover after small guiding sessions.

Thinking of this, the worries and apprehensions of being so weak did not bother him any longer.

Khal smiled and brushed Ayen’s head. He turned to Devion, and the two nodded at each other.

Ayen clung to Devion’s arm as Khal led in the front. They came out of the submarine and swam towards the gate. Mana ripples surrounded them, preventing debris and monster flesh from touching their vicinity.

Getting closer to it, his heart could not help but beat so fast. He could even hear his heartbeat so vividly. This was the SS-class dungeon.

Devion wrapped his arm around him, as if to assure him again. Ayen patted him in response.

He did not know if it was truly this long or if it was an illusion to fool his senses. He gradually calmed down. Ayen’s adaptability, no matter the circumstances, was always admirable.

The two espers always complimented him for it.

When Ayen was truly about to fall asleep, his consciousness almost leaving him, his senses finally returned. He felt Devion tapping him, prompting him to open his eyes.

Ayen blinked a few more times, and the drowsiness faded slightly.

“We’re inside the dungeon,” Devion informed, glancing around with a solemn expression.

Ayen took a deep breath and also began to observe their surroundings. He looked around, then at the sky and below.

“We’re at sea?” Ayen mumbled out loud.

He tapped his foot curiously on the ground and then looked up once more. Ayen frowned. He felt the moisture under his feet, the clouds surrounding them.

Right. It was the sky under their feet while the sea was above them.

The sight was actually so strange. There was no one in sight, which was a little underwhelming from his expectations. However, he knew not to underestimate the situation when the layout was already bizarre.

Ayen’s gaze landed on Khal, who was looking up, observing the sea above them.

“Do we need to go up there?” Devion asked, his gaze also focused above them.

Ayen fell silent and let the two discuss.

“I don’t know.” Khal rubbed his chin, his blue pupils calm, but the tension around them remained.

Devion sighed. “This was a first.” Ayen glanced at him, and he sensed it, turning to meet Ayen’s gaze.

“The first SS-class dungeon, almost fifteen years ago, was not like this. It was a dungeon filled with draconic life forms, and they immediately attacked after sensing your presence.”

It was also around the time when the two were discovered as SS-class espers instead. In fact, the dungeon was still around, but its level had significantly weakened because of the two.

There was no way to completely eliminate dungeons for now, but to constantly clear them, meaning killing the ’boss.’

If anything, it was calm… eerily serene, even.

And just like Ayen was filled with luck all over his body, the moment he thought of this phrase, he noticed a whirlpool quickly approaching them.

“Fuck,” Devion cursed; he quickly wrapped his arm around Ayen, and with Khal, they began to run.

Ayen glanced back. The whirlpool quickly multiplied. Now dozens of colossal whirlpools were chasing after them.
