The main reason they were able to discover this town was that they were anomalies themselves. The two did not need to be said, and Ayen was obviously in the same league, although his real rank had yet to be measured.

So, when Khal had noticed a mana disturbance, it was the town itself. He only realized this late, though.

“Can we still leave?”

Upon hearing that the abandoned town had been cut off from the real world, Ayen focused on this fact. Could they still leave?

The two suddenly glanced at him; Ayen was bewildered by their gazes.

“What?” Was something wrong with what he asked?

Khal and Devion shook their heads and smiled. Devion ruffled Ayen’s hair.

“Nothing. But your first concern is so cute.”

Ayen could have asked about more dangerous matters; after all, they were standing in a possibly forbidden zone. Yet, he focused on asking whether they could still leave.

Of course, it was extremely valid, but it was still cute.

Ayen furrowed his brows; he fixed his messy hair.

What was cute about this concern? Sometimes, he could not understand them at all.

Khal merely smiled. Clearly, he also found Ayen’s question endearing. Unlike Devion, however, he answered Ayen’s question.

“We can still leave.”

Khal was certain about this. Then he asked, “Do you want to leave now?”

This place was trouble waiting to happen. It needed time to truly create a forbidden zone, just like the Ghost Town, despite having at least five mana disturbance sources.

Currently, it was cut off from the world, and so no one could stumble inside unless they were extremely unfortunate or they had a uniqueness like the trio. It had yet to unleash its danger on the world.

However, it could not rule out the possibility that this abandoned town was a threat to the future. Given time, when dungeons began to spawn around it, that was when it became a true calamity.

Ayen sighed in relief when he heard they could still leave. He was uneasy that they would be trapped inside unless they solved this anomaly.

He only wanted to explore; he did not have any intention to solve whatever threat this town posed to the world. If they could solve it, then that would be the best.

If not, then they could leave.

“We can still continue.” With mind at ease and trusting Khal’s judgment, Ayen refused to leave immediately.

With this, the two did not ask further, and so they stayed.

The town was actually quite big. At least it was bigger than the main stronghold of Red Zone 21. They had wandered for a full two hours and had yet to explore less than half of it.

Since they were using Ayen’s pace. If Khal and Devion used their abilities for mobility, they might have already explored the place in under an hour.

But where was the fun in that? They were not here on a mission or with a sense of urgency; they were here on a tour with Ayen.

They walked very leisurely. While they were not intimate, they walked close enough to each other. Once in a while, they would stop and let Ayen witness another mana-disturbance spectacle.

It was like they were on a date in a bizarre amusement park or museum.

There was no fight, as, aside from them, no living beings could be found inside. Not even monsters.

The alarm, after knowing the place housed five or more mana disturbance sources, dissipated as soon as they arrived. If anything, they were surprised because it was unheard of. It was not that they truly found it dangerous.

After a while, they decided to take a rest. As to where? There were a lot of establishments for them to take in. They were not polite and entered a decent-looking two-story house.

Khal and Devion made sure the house was not affected by any mana disturbance first.

When they opened the door, a messy living room greeted them. Clearly, a fight had broken out inside. Strangely enough, there were no blood traces or any remains left on the floor.

The tumbled furniture everywhere and the overturned couch were the only evidence of the fight.

“Should we settle somewhere else?” Devion asked Ayen.

“No need. This place will do.”

Aside from accumulated dust and the mess, the place was still relatively intact.

“Mhm. Let’s clean the place first.” Khal already observed the place and did not sense something amiss, so he agreed.

As soon as Ayen answered, Devion had already made a move. Without being told to do so, he started the cleanup operation. Khal and Ayen soon followed him.

There was no need for a thorough cleanup either. They would only stay for one night. For a time, they busied themselves with having a good and clean passing nest.

While they did so, they also looked for any clues about the incident along with it. Unfortunately, perhaps because of the passage of time, there was no evidence or clues left.

Devion would not neglect checking the kitchen. To his surprise, it was still usable. They only needed to thoroughly clean most of the utensils and kitchenware.

As for energy to use the stove, Devion was never concerned with that. His own mana was enough to make everything functional.

As for Khal, he went upstairs and checked the situation there. Ayen remained in the living room and set up the bed for the night.

Where did the bed come from? Of course, they had their own. Devion was always meticulous about such things.

“This bed is quite huge,” Ayen said, pointing at the bed he set up in the living room. He knew there was a prepared bed inside the space artifact, but he did not know it was such a size.

It almost occupied the whole living room. Perhaps it could even fit five people sharing side by side.

The kitchen was merely separated by a thin wall without a door; Devion easily heard his comment. He gave a meaningful smile.

“We needed a huge bed.”

Although they shared a bed, it always felt like the space was lacking for three men to fit in it. It was especially if they were lost in the ’guiding session.’

A huge bed was more convenient.
