Georgina was strong; there was no doubt about that. It was not like he could stop her either. She looked geared up already.

Still, Jarred warned her.

“If there’s danger, you have to leave immediately.” If something happened to Georgina, the higher-ups would grill him. She was an important combat esper of the government.

Georgina tied her hair, smiled, and winked at him.

Before they could react, Georgina grabbed their necks and twisted them. This was a war; she did not need to spare these fools. The two landed on the ground with a thud.

Georgina quickly searched them for any valuables, specifically identification. It only took about two seconds, and Georgina successfully entered the central area.

She crouched in the corner, sensing the actual building where the one in charge was located. Georgina preferred to hear or, if she could, interrogate a Nevaris clan member.

Her eyes flashed, and her lips curled.

She found it. And… her eyes narrowed. Something seemed to be there. It was not the dungeon mine, something else… What was what?

Georgina only thought for a few seconds before her body was already merging again with her surroundings. Sometimes she hid, while most of the time she used the darkness and even merged with a crowd.

If the guide could still move, she might have already crawled to get away from her. Georgina has always had a soft spot for guides, especially delicate ones.

Her heart ached, and she squatted in front of her.

“I’m not from the clan,” Georgina softly muttered to her; the guide’s eyes still flickered with distrust. “Wait…” She brought her identification. Georgina took it from her pocket, relieved that she had not forgotten it.

“I’m an esper from the government.” Georgina showed it to her, making sure she could read it. An assuring smile appeared on her lips. “Don’t worry, I’ll save you from here.”

Georgina chose not to ask about what happened yet, as that would delay them. The guide’s injuries might not be critical, but are serious, and she probably lost a lot of blood.

The guide swallowed, gasping from the pain. Her tears continued to flow, but she was not sobbing anymore. She looked at Georgina and blinked.

Georgina managed to observe her clearly. Her eyes flickered slightly. It seemed inappropriate to say, given the situation, but… The guide looked so pretty.

Her lips curled subconsciously, eyes warm. Georgina’s voice softened significantly. “Do you mind?” She asked, her hands reaching to the other’s face to wipe the tears on her face.

The guide only looked at her, not saying anything. Georgina took that as a cue to continue. When the tears and some blood were removed, the guide’s appearance was exposed even further.

Georgina stared at the guide while the other did the same. A few seconds later, she snapped out of it.

“Can I ask for your name?” Georgina asked once more, preparing to carry her. The guide was still wary but nodded.

“Keeran…” she answered in a weak and hoarse tone.

Georgina nodded and asked for permission with her eyes, and Keeran nodded. “Wait, it’ll be painful.”

Georgina needed to put gauze around the wound, which was still bleeding. Keeran nodded slowly, but her brows were furrowed.

“Here.” Gorgina put Keeran’s hand in her arm. Georgina smiled at her and patted her shoulder. “Grip my hand, or you can bite me if it’s too painful.”
