124 I Would Be Unmarried In This Life!

Rong Yue’s brows crinkled as she glanced at her watch to confirm the time. He had dropped her off two hours ago. Surely he couldn’t have waited for her all these while right?

She entered the car first, not wanting to cause a scene but as soon as she closed the door. She turned to question him immediately.

“Why are you still here?”

“Hmm, where should I be? To drop my woman off for another man and leave? Ehn, Yue’er?” Qin Yichen retorted immediately.

His blunt reply completely stumped Rong Yue as her whole trial of argument ended and she was left with only glaring at him.

“You… you keep calling yourself my man, since when did I agree to be your woman?”

Qin Yichen’s eyes deepened as he looked at her angry and fuming face, he liked when he saw her looking like that. At the very least, it was a lot different from her blank face that seemed to not care about anyone.

“You already saved my life and I already gave myself to you as a pay back. Since you have not rejected me since then, you want to reject me now that I have taken any woman beside me away?”

“What women have you sent away? Quick, call them back,” Rong Yue shot back quickly.

With how uncomfortable the air in the car, Rong Yue couldn’t wait to get off and shouted at the first store she saw.

“You can drop me off here! I’ll be getting some things and would only return later in the evening,” she said in one go, as if afraid that if she was any slower, she won’t get a chance to say it.

“You want to get down?” Qin Yichen asked in a clipped tone and watched the girl nod her head hurriedly. Fat chance!

Without any warning, he pressed on the brake and sped across the store she had pointed out. However, he didn’t even slow down one bit scaring Rong Yue that kept glimpsing at his expressionless face several times.

When she couldn’t handle it anymore, she yelled out angrily, “Qin Yichen! Stop this car this very minute or you would regret it,”

Despite being angry, he could still hear the slight undertone of panic in her furious tone and so Qin Yichen stopped the car, the sharp change in speed made the both of them lurch forward a little but even after that he didn’t unlock the car.

Seeing that he had stopped the car, Rong Yue let out a sigh in relief. She had been afraid that he would have lost his mind.

“Am I really not someone you can put in your heart at all? Is there anything you want that I cannot give you?” Qin Yichen asked after a while, he had done everything he felt was going to make her look at him, but then sometimes it would seem like she had started to look at him.

Making him press on and then on some days, she would push him away heartlessly. Her words today, had however made his confidence suffer a blow. Was the eight years gap too much for her?

If she wanted to date a man that was her age, clearly, he would only appear like a clown to her. The more he thought about it, the more worried and frustrated he had become making him lose control for a bit.

“Is there someone in your heart, Yue’er?” His words in the silent car was exceptionally loud and Rong Yue’s eyes dimmed a little.

Qin Yichen let out a soft sigh of relief as he heard her words, his hands that was holding onto the steering also loosened greatly. Unfortunately before he could catch a breath, Rong Yue continued.

“But in this life, I don’t intend to ever marry or be with anyone. So I would only hold you back by letting you stay beside me and wait for me…”

But in her mind, she felt a little bit of disappointment, after all, his affection and the way he had treated her almost made her to change her mind. She hadn’t expected those few words to change his mind.

The Qin Yichen now had a totally different aura and didn’t seem so dispirited. Instead, he started the car and started to drive out of the estate he had drove into in a haste.

It was almost as if his decision didn’t concern her. If she wanted to stay alone, it was alright, as long as he was allowed by her side.

Rong Yue felt a burst of warmth in her heart as she looked at the side profile of this man that was determined to not look at her.

“I’m going to the Shen group stores, I need to get some technical equipments,” she told him as she saw him driving back towards where they had passed previously.

The store from earlier wasn’t anything special and she was almost certain that if she found the hardwares she wanted there, then it was going to be by some huge stroke of luck. Now that he was back to normal, it was still better to go where she was going before.

Qin Yichen turned at the next turning point deftly and drove towards a different part of the city.

The car was in a comfortable silence as the both of them, man and woman had several thoughts rushing through their mind at that moment.

For Qin Yichen, he was regretting losing control of his emotions earlier and also wondering what it was that Rong Yue had experienced to have decided at this age to not be with any man for life.

It was a big decision and if it was anyone that was here, they would brush it off by saying she was yet to see the world. But he was not only someone that was perspective and had a high IQ, he also knew Rong Yue well.

Well enough to know that the little lass hadn’t been playing around when she said it. The more he thought about it, the more solemn his mind became as he felt a kind of pain on Rong Yue’s behalf.

Someone had come into her life before he could and had hurt her. He wondered if it was something from her mother, after all, her age still seemed a little too young to have gone through any significant relationship.

Despite his intelligence, even when he parked the car in front of the huge technology company that he had decided to bring her to, he had still not found a scenario that could match the situation on hand. “They are one of the biggest suppliers to the Shen stores, you will find more things here,”

After opening the door, he walked over to her side swiftly, covering the distance between both sides and opening the door for her.

For a place like this, the advantages would be difficult to get without an identity which was why even though Rong Yue wasn’t too happy about him knowing the things she needed to get, she didn’t argue.

Although he was on the news almost every time, Qin Yichen’s face was not openly broadcasted and many times, the only image that accompanied his news was his back view or side view that was not completely clear. This made it that only top people and some people in the media knew what he looked like.

When they entered the first floor of the Shen stores, the receptionist sat up hurriedly upon seeing a man that seemed to have been carved with utmost care.

“How may I help you?”
