Chapter 236: A TRANSFORMATION

“Why you all are after the cultivation technique?” Logan asked again.

“If I just get to know why they all are after this, then I will know what to do, how to stop them.” Logan thought to himself.

“Tch!… Kid, don’t push your luck. I have already said enough. Now it’s your turn. Hand over the cultivation technique.” Raphael was in no mood to share any more information.

“You still need to answer this. If you want the technique, of course.” Logan’s voice was firm, no scope of negotiation.

But it irritated Raphael a bit. His face twisted. “Seems like you are in a hurry to taste a gruesome death.” Raphael said this in a harsh voice. “Hand it over quickly Logan, this doesn’t concern you. But you have something that can turn the balance of power between races upside down. If you hand it over peacefully, I will let your mother leave. But you will still have to die. I can’t let other races have their hands on it.”

“So that’s what’s going on.” Logan whispered to himself.

Though Raphael didn’t say exactly why he wanted the the cultivation technique, Logan now had a rough idea about everything.

“Maybe these races are in a fight for either survival or power, but now are in a stellmate. So they want the cultivation technique to turn the tide of the battle. Not only do they want it, they even want to make sure that nobody else has it.” Many questions, many unsolved mysteries were now slowly unraveling themselves in Logan’s mind.

Seeing Logan saying nothing, Raphael’s voice rang again, “think wisely kid. I know you want to save your mother. So hand it over like a good boy. You will die but you will at least be able to save the person you care about.”

Logan who was standing with an unreadable expression until now suddenly smirked. “Who said I am going to die? Don’t make such silly assumptions. Or you will just make your race look like losers.”

Suddenly the air around Logan shifted. A huge pressure started to emanate from his body. “Let’s resume our fight, shall we? Enough chitchat.”

Logan jumped high into the sky as he spun in the opposite direction of Raphael, and when he reached his level, he flung his hand forward releasing a strong burst of air pressure.

Whoosh!

His body flew toward Raphael with great speed.

Raphael’s eyes narrowed. “Even for someone who is just using the imitation, you sure know how to utilize it, but if you think that will be enough to defeat me then you are sorely mistaken.”

Raphael raised his hand and an ice wall materialized between him and Logan instantly.

But Logan didn’t falter. He threw a punch mid flight. His fist touched nothing but the burst of pressure it created, it shot forward rippling through the air.

Bam! The wall shattered but the force still kept moving until it slammed on Raphael.

Thud! Blarrghhh! The invisible punch landed squarely on Raphael’s chest and he was hurled back while spraying out blood from his mouth.

He lost balance and fell to the ground. Logan’s feet also touched the ground but for less than a second as he dashed forward again.

Raphael saw Logan charging ahead and waved his hand. Five earth golems appeared in front of him.

Logan didn’t even bat an eye. Only a flick of his hand mid motion and a huge pressure erupted slamming them all down in the ground.

Gravity magic!

“Fuck!” Raphael cursed and waved his hand again. Multiple ice walls materialized in front of him.

Logan’s right fist flared as fire magic enveloped his hand.

Straightening his hand forward he clashed into the walls.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

One after another, all the walls shattered.

Within a blink of an eye, Logan was before Raphael.

Raphael’s senses screamed as an earth shield appeared in his left hand and an ice blade in his right.

Logan did nothing else other than hurling his fist forward. But inside, his internal energy surged, like a flood breaking out of a barrier.

And then they met….

Logan’s fist and Raphael’s shield.

Boom!

A shockwave erupted.

Though Raphael blocked the punch with his shield, his body skidded back creating a crater in the ground.

A chilling pain spread through his left arm. He felt as if he was just hit by a falling boulder. “What collosal power!” Though his body was shaken with pain, his eyes lit up. “Soon….. This power will be mine…. It will be ours.” He murmured.

But Logan….. He just stood there. He didn’t feel any pain. But Raphael’s delighted expression puzzled him a bit.

“What’s he so happy about? Is he still dreaming about the cultivation technique?” Logan thought to himself.

Raphael stood up straightening his back. “Logan, you are really strong. It’s good that I had found you before you had the chance to grow, reach the level of grandmasters and above like the cultivators from thousand years back. Now….”

He paused for a bit. “Let me show you something.. something far more interesting than magic.

Mwahahahaha!” He burst into laughter.

Logan still had his eyes locked on Raphael.

Meanwhile in the house, among all the two hundred men, some were already dead, some were sprawled unconscious and some were groaning with pain, unable to move even a muscle.

Audrey then moved behind Alice and cut her rope. Alice who was solely focused on Logan only now noticed something bizarre. Something utterly unbelievable.

A sword had been actually flying on its own. In a world where magic was everything, it wasn’t uncommon for someone to use magic and fly a thing in the air. But for an object to fly on its own, it wasn’t common at all.

Alice almost jumped from her chair and shirked back. She wasn’t afraid of death as she was already ready to die for Logan if that was the only way. But the sudden realization about the sword still shook her inside.

Audrey meanwhile who didn’t have a face pouted inwardly. “Come on now, I have been protecting you all this time and now you are afraid of me?” She said it loud but alas how would Alice hear her. Only Logan was capable of that.

Seeing Alice’s worried face, Audrey sighed inwardly and came outside of the house. Now that everyone was down other than the main culprit, she knew Alice would be safe.

And seeing the sword move away, Alice also mastered her courage and came outside.

Both their focus was now locked on Logan only.

But what was happening in front totally baffled Alice. “What is my son fighting with. Is it a monster?”

Logan too had his eyes widened. Because Raphael in front of him had again started hovering in the air. But that wasn’t the strange part. It was his shape and size. They both had started changing drastically, turning into something gruesome, terrifying. And the power he was emanating…..

It felt otherworldly, limitless…..
