Her voice trembled. Tears shimmered in her eyes. At last, the thought of her endangered family gave her the courage she had been lacking.

Zola turned his gaze toward her briefly, then back at Logan.

“Don’t worry. He will return soon,” he said calmly before resuming his silent observation.

Time ticked by. Five minutes passed. Zola’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“It’s already been two days. At this rate, he’ll fail the test. Is that really what you want?” he said again, his voice carrying a faint edge.

Time flowed differently within Logan’s subconscious. In the real world, only ten minutes had passed. But inside his mind… Logan had been fighting for two full days.

His clothes were torn to shreds. His body was covered in blood — some his own, some not. His breathing was ragged, his movements slower than before.

The enemies were advancing faster now. Closing in. Relentless.

The female voice within Zola remained silent for a moment, watching the trial unfold. Then it echoed in his ears once more. “I do not want him to fail. But I cannot help him now.
