- Chapter 573 - 572: The End of the Nightmare in Derry."
Alex, Dean, and Sam were standing in a vast hall that served as Pennywise’s true lair. It was here, millions of years ago, that a meteorite had fallen, bringing to Earth the entity known as the Deadlights—long before it ever took the form of a dancing clown. For countless ages it lay dormant, until the first settlers arrived on these lands.
Their emotions, fears, and despair awakened the ancient evil, and after many years it stole a form for itself—Pennywise, a creature that became the embodiment of horror. Pennywise adored the scent of fear and fed on it, considering human flesh soaked in terror the greatest delicacy. In time, it realized that the fear of children, like their flesh, possessed the most exquisite flavor, and from that moment on it hunted only them. It was not enough for it to devour bodies—it consumed the souls of those who feared it.
Many people tried again and again to destroy Pennywise, but all of them failed, never understanding the true reason for their defeat. It was not his power that doomed them, but the fear that had already taken root in their souls. They doubted they could defeat an ancient and powerful evil, and that doubt sealed their fate.
One such group were the children who called themselves the Losers’ Club. They were ordinary schoolkids, no different from thousands of others, yet once they managed to defeat Pennywise by overcoming their own fears and no longer being afraid of him. After that victory, they swore to return to their hometown and finish what they had started, destroying the evil once and for all.
However, the second time they failed. The ritual meant to defeat Pennywise was based on belief—belief in their own victory. But by then, they no longer truly believed in it, and so they were defeated. Now that burden had to be taken up by others.
Alex stood beside Dean, about five meters from Pennywise’s massive body, which had taken on a grotesque form—half spider, half clown. Sam stood a little farther away, on a small rise, gripping the Colt in his hands, a weapon created to kill supernatural beings.
Alex slung the sledgehammer over his shoulder and shifted his gaze to the Deadlights hovering in the center of the hall, clearly signaling that their attempt to kill Pennywise had failed. Even though an entire cylinder of bullets from the Colt had been fired into the monster, and the Blade of Cain had been literally driven into its supposed heart like a stake.
“He’s not dead, is he?” Dean asked, looking at Pennywise’s mangled body, then turning his head toward Alex, who hadn’t taken his eyes off the Deadlights.
“No, he’s not dead. You are,” Pennywise’s distorted voice echoed.
Alex, Dean, and Sam spun around sharply. Pennywise had already lifted his head, stretching a horrifying, unnatural smile across his face. His slashed-open chest began to heal before their eyes: what looked like a heart started beating again, and the blood flowed back into his body.
Pennywise writhed until he rose onto his spider-like legs, leaning on the sharp spikes that served as his arms. Seeing that he was still alive, the members of the Losers’ Club were seized by a new wave of terror and began backing toward the passage they had come through.
Pennywise once again towered over Alex and Dean, but they met his gaze without the slightest emotion. Dean tightened his grip on the Blade of Cain, while Alex calmly lit a cigarette, as if what was happening didn’t concern him at all. Pennywise’s gaze darted between them and Sam, but he felt not a single trace of fear from any of them.
To them, he was just another monster, another obstacle that needed to be removed. His face began to contort as he shifted expressions, trying to provoke some kind of reaction—but it was all in vain.
And then Pennywise caught that familiar taste of fear once more. His gaze locked onto the Losers’ Club, and a wide, deranged grin spread across his face. Alex and Dean turned at the same time and immediately understood what it meant. Pennywise had decided to start with his former prey—with those who could feed him again. He lunged forward on his spider-like limbs, knocking Alex and Dean aside as if they weighed nothing at all.
The impact sent Dean flying toward Sam, who managed to catch his brother, but they both crashed to the ground, and the Colt slipped from Sam’s hands. Alex was hurled in the opposite direction, slamming back-first into the frozen, once-molten stone and being thrown to the far end of the cavern.
Seeing how easily Pennywise had scattered Alex and Dean, the members of the Losers’ Club tensed—especially when they realized he was charging straight at them. In the same instant, they scattered, fleeing in all directions. Pennywise smashed his enormous face into the wall, collapsing the only exit from the cave.
Everyone ran wherever they could, just to survive. When Pennywise nearly caught Mike, he stumbled over a fallen rock and crashed to the floor. The monster loomed over him, raising an arm that stretched and transformed into a sharp spike.
“Mikey, Mikey, Mikey… You’re still just as small and just as clumsy. And now you’ll be my food,” Pennywise hissed, drooling as he stared at the terrified Mike.
“MIKE! DON’T STAND THERE! RUN!” his friends shouted as he stared at the monster in horror.
“Yes, Mike, run… just like back then, when you just stood there and watched your parents burn alive,” Pennywise said, bursting into manic laughter.
Mike saw those same old memories in Pennywise’s eyes—the ones he thought he had already dealt with. The ones he had accepted, lived through, and buried deep inside himself so he could move on. But in that very moment, his parents’ screams rang in his ears—desperate, soul-tearing cries.
He saw again how they reached for him through the flames, how their bodies were engulfed in fire, how they tried to get to him while he stood frozen. He did nothing. He just stood there in terror, watching his parents slowly die, burning alive. That moment consumed him once more.
Sensing Mike’s fear, Pennywise reveled in it, savoring its sweet taste. This was exactly what he existed for. Unable to bear the sight, Mike’s friends began grabbing stones and hurling them at the monster.
The rocks struck Pennywise’s body and bounced off, but he ignored them completely, never taking his eyes off his victim. In that moment, he was focused solely on Mike’s fear. Mike himself squeezed his eyes shut, trembling, and began repeating to himself like a mantra that he wasn’t afraid, that this had no power over him.
By then, Sam had come to his senses and was frantically searching for the lost Colt. Scanning the ground, he spotted the grip protruding from a narrow crack between the stones. Sam lunged forward, yanked the Colt free, and without a second thought turned and fired straight into the back of Pennywise’s head.
The bullet punched clean through the monster’s skull, and Pennywise let out a deafening scream of pain. The Colt was able to wound him not only because it was created to destroy evil, but because Sam believed—believed with all his heart—that this weapon could hurt him.
As Pennywise howled in agony, Dean seized the moment and sprinted toward Mike. At the very last second, just as the sharp spike was about to pierce his body, Dean knocked Mike off his feet, dragging him aside. Pennywise’s spike slammed into the ground with force, shattering the stone.
“You almost had him, Bobo,” Dean smirked, helping the frozen Mike back onto his feet.
“I AM A DEVOURER OF WORLDS!” Pennywise roared, throwing his jaws wide, revealing rows of sharp teeth as he glared at Dean with fury.
“No. You’re just Bobo,” a calm voice said from above.
Pennywise jerked his head up and saw Alex falling from above, a sledgehammer clenched in his hands. The monster opened its jaws so wide that Alex was flying straight into them. Instead of fear, an even wider grin spread across his face. He plunged into Pennywise’s mouth and at the very last moment braced the sledgehammer so that it drove straight into the creature’s throat. From the outside, it looked as if Alex had simply vanished inside the monster.
Hanging in Pennywise’s gullet, Alex felt the creature’s throat begin to contract, trying to crush him. Only the sledgehammer, wedged against living flesh, kept that from happening.
Inside, he heard muffled, distorted screams—voices echoing from deep within the body, like suffering souls. Looking down, Alex saw not only the Deadlights, but the souls of everyone Pennywise had ever consumed.
While Alex was inside, Dean shoved Mike, signaling for him to run back to his friends. Watching Pennywise throw his head back, still trying to swallow Alex, Dean frantically thought about how to get him out before the clown turned him into food. Meanwhile, Sam was quickly reloading the Colt, preparing to keep firing.
At that very moment, Alex pulled a dagger from his inventory and ripped open Pennywise’s throat from the inside with all his strength. Through the gash he forced his way out, gripping the knife in one hand and the sledgehammer in the other.
Pennywise howled and began to thrash, spraying blood in every direction. Alex crawled out of the torn throat, drenched in blood from head to toe, still wearing that wide grin as he watched the monster tear the cavern apart.
Mike reached his friends, who were once again in complete shock, recognizing in Alex that same ten-year-old boy with a sledgehammer—only now he was an adult.
“Damn it, Alex… I thought that clown ate you,” Dean shouted.
“I’m inedible. Guess he choked,” Alex replied with a grin, giving a thumbs-up.
“Yeah… so how do we kill him? A hit to the heart didn’t work, a shot to the head didn’t either. What else do we try?” Dean asked, never taking his eyes off Pennywise.
By then, Pennywise had already recovered and, with renewed, even greater fury, charged at Alex and Dean. Both leapt aside, avoiding the blow. A sharp spike slammed into the ground, and Alex immediately smashed it with the sledgehammer. There was a crack and a spray of blood. The spike split with fractures, and Alex realized the strength hadn’t been enough.
The second blow completely shattered it. Seeing this, Dean slipped under Pennywise and ended up beneath its belly. Gripping the Cain Blade, he delivered a chopping strike at one of the legs. The blade stuck, and Dean began hacking at it like a tree, strike after strike, until he severed the spider limb.
From his higher position, Sam saw what Alex and Dean were doing and began firing at the remaining legs. Despite Alex, Dean, and Sam shouting at the Losers’ Club again and again to get out of there, none of them left. Bill grabbed another rock and hurled it at Pennywise’s head once more.
He remembered how they had beaten him once before, and seeing Alex, Dean, and Sam fighting without fear, he realized there was nothing left to be afraid of. His resolve spread to the others. Even Eddie, the most cowardly of them, was shouting insults as he threw stones.
With every passing second, fear faded—and with it, Pennywise weakened. Wounds appeared one after another. Now even rocks were hurting him. He was retreating under the relentless attacks, trying to counter, but Alex and Dean, fighting up close, deftly dodged and crippled his limbs. They seemed to move in perfect coordination, as if by unspoken agreement, intent on tearing off every leg of the spider Pennywise had become.
“Dean! We need to rip his belly open! I heard the souls screaming while I was in his throat! Free them, and we weaken him!” Alex shouted, dodging another strike.
“How do we do that?! This bastard’s too slippery and heals too fast!” Dean yelled, driving the Cain Blade into the creature’s belly and hanging on to keep from being thrown off.
“I’ve got this! Get ready! Sam, shoot him in the head!” Alex shouted, bracing himself for the attack.
Sam nodded, finishing reloading the Colt. At that very moment, Dean, straddling Pennywise’s belly, yanked the Cain Blade free at the last possible second—the monster’s torso twisted a full one hundred and eighty degrees, and instead of a hand, a sharp spike shot toward him.
Dean was thrown off, slipping down from the belly, and in the same second Pennywise, with a furious roar, drove the spike straight into his own body. The creature bellowed in pain, jerking and trying to pull the lodged spike free, and that was the moment Alex lunged forward. He jumped, vaulted over Pennywise’s massive head, and grabbing him by the hair, yanked hard.
The monster’s neck let out a horrific crack, like bones snapping. Seeing this, Dean sprang up and, calling on Amara’s power, severed several of Pennywise’s spider legs one after another. Losing its support, the creature began to topple.
As Pennywise fell, Sam fired with extreme precision, careful not to hit Alex. Two shots from the Colt struck the monster’s chest, each one accompanied by another scream of agony. Every bullet inflicted real damage on Pennywise.
Collapsing onto his side, he struggled desperately, thrashing his limbs and writhing, but Alex kept pulling his head back, clearly intending to tear it off. Pennywise raised his arms, which once again transformed into sharp spikes, trying to impale Alex.
“Not this time, Bobo!” Dean roared, leaping onto Pennywise’s spider body.
Climbing onto him, Dean jumped and drove the Cain Blade straight into the monster’s forehead with all his strength. Pennywise’s body convulsed as if an electric current had surged through it. Dean kept pushing forward while Alex wrenched the head back, and together they slammed the enormous body into the ground.
The Cain Blade still jutted from Pennywise’s forehead, and he twitched as if something horrific was happening inside him. That gave Alex the moment he needed. He sprang onto the monster’s body, and the Scythe of Death appeared in his hands. Spinning it sharply, Alex split open Pennywise’s belly with a single powerful swing. Even Dean and Sam heard the screams—desperate, tearing cries of the souls trapped within.
Bill, standing among his friends, suddenly recognized a painfully familiar voice—Georgie’s. His eyes filled with tears as he realized that his brother had been inside Pennywise all this time, suffering.
Alex swung the scythe again, slicing into the stomach itself. From the torn body burst a blinding torrent—the souls of the people Pennywise had once devoured. At that same moment, the Deadlights in the center of the chamber began to tremble and dim, losing their power as the souls left the monster’s body.
But just as it seemed like victory, Pennywise’s flesh began to heal at terrifying speed, as if he refused to let his prey go.
“Grab his flesh—don’t let it heal!” Alex shouted, clutching the split belly of Pennywise.
“Damn it! Why is it always the same every time?!” Dean cursed, grabbing from the other side and straining with all his strength to keep the torn flesh apart, preventing the regeneration from finishing.
Hearing their shout, Sam leapt down from the ledge and rushed toward them. He climbed onto Pennywise’s body and grabbed the torn flesh beside Dean. All three pulled with everything they had. Dean’s hands began to be covered in thick darkness—he was pouring every last bit of himself into it.
Sam didn’t notice, but the black bracelet on his wrist, a gift from Alex, began to glow, feeding him strength. The Losers’ Club stood frozen, watching as streams of light—souls—continued to burst from Pennywise’s body. Bill saw Georgie one last time: his brother smiled and waved at him as he rose upward. In that moment, Bill knew what he had to do.
He was the first to rush forward.
“Billy, where are you going?!” Ben shouted when he saw him running toward Pennywise.
“We have to help! We have to free those souls!” Bill yelled without slowing down.
“We’re with you! Time to send this clown straight to hell! Enough being cowards—it’s time to finish what we couldn’t back then!” Richie shouted, jumping down from the rock and charging after him.
When Bill and Richie sprang into action, Mike, Ben, Beverly, and Eddie exchanged glances for just a moment—and that was enough. The next instant, they were running after them. Almost simultaneously, the entire Losers’ Club joined Alex, Dean, and Sam, gripping Pennywise’s torn flesh and keeping it from closing.
The blinding light of the souls pouring from the monster’s body made everyone squint, but no one let go. Thousands of souls that Pennywise had devoured surged outward in a single, unstoppable torrent, piercing the stone ceiling of the cave and bursting to the surface. The stream was so powerful that it punched a perfect round hole in the rock and shot into the sky like a column of pure light.
In the city, people looked up, unsure of what they were witnessing, staring at the radiant beam emerging from the ground. Bureau of Control operatives stationed at the cursed house heard all their equipment go haywire at once, screaming alarms and reporting a colossal energy surge.
Graham Wright watched the pillar of incomprehensible power, with instruments going berserk, and surprisingly felt nothing but calm. Lucina, Alice, Samantha, Enid, and Wednesday emerged from the RV to witness it with their own eyes.
“How beautiful…” Enid whispered, mesmerized, unable to look away from the light.
“If you ignore the fact that these are souls that have rotted for years in the stomach of a horrific clown,” Wednesday remarked calmly, arms crossed.
“The sad part,” Samantha said softly, “is that these souls aren’t completely free. They’ve just gone from one prison to another.”
“For a little while,” Lucina replied. “When this is all over, they’ll move on.”
“Or Amara will finally make a proper Heaven and Hell. With all the necessary stuff,” Alice added thoughtfully, choosing her words.
They exchanged glances, realizing that Alice had a point. As Alex had said, Amara was supposed to be the only goddess of this universe, meant to protect it—until Chuck intervened and ruined everything, pretending to be her brother. The girls turned their gaze back to the column of light, which was slowly beginning to dim.
Watching, Lucina hoped that such a sudden surge of souls wouldn’t attract unwanted attention—neither angels nor Lucifer, who had reclaimed the throne of Hell and was preparing to peek into Heaven. And of course, GIR, MIMI, and Stitch couldn’t miss the moment, snapping photos from the roof of the RV against the glowing sky.
Meanwhile, deep underground in Pennywise’s lair, Alex, Dean, and Sam, along with the Losers’ Club, continued holding open the monster’s torn belly until the last devoured soul was freed. Alex exerted minimal effort, only pretending to strain, while Dean and Sam pulled with all their strength, keeping the flesh from closing.
Bill, Mike, Ben, Eddie, Richie, and Beverly did the same—each giving everything they had, with a single thought: Pennywise had to die, and they wouldn’t let him recover.
When the final soul left the clown’s body, his massive frame began to shrink. Exhausted, everyone stepped back and collapsed to the ground. Relief spread across the faces of the Losers’ Club—tired, but genuine.
Bill looked up at the gaping hole in the cave’s ceiling. He saw Georgie one last time—his smile, his farewell glance—before he disappeared. A sad smile appeared on Bill’s lips, and his friends surrounded him, silently supporting him.
Georgie had been saved—too late, perhaps, but he had finally found peace. Dean and Sam sat a little off to the side, breathing heavily as they tried to recover. Alex, meanwhile, kept his eyes fixed on the Deadlights, which were still hovering in the center of the chamber. They swayed weakly, and instead of their usual bright yellow glow, they burned with a dull gray light—disturbing and wrong.
“At last, we killed that fucking clown. It’s over,” Richie said tiredly, sitting beside Bill.
“It’s not over yet, Losers,” came Pennywise’s distorted, icy voice.
Everyone immediately turned toward Pennywise as he slowly began to rise to his feet. His body swayed, and his face was covered in deep cracks, like a porcelain mask ready to shatter from the slightest blow. He stood hunched over, rocking from side to side, as if the only thing keeping him upright were invisible strings.
The members of the Losers’ Club instinctively backed away, unable to take their eyes off him. Dean and Sam let out weary breaths and, fighting through the weakness left by using their powers, forced themselves to their feet. Dean, panting heavily, tightened his grip on the Blade of Cain, while Sam, realizing the Colt was out of ammo, drew his demon-killing knife.
Pennywise lifted his head and glared at everyone, still swaying. He took a step forward, as though spending the very last of his strength, trying to reach even a single soul to restore himself. At that step, Bill, Mike, Ben, Beverly, Richie, and Eddie instinctively retreated even farther, unable to understand how he could still be alive after all the souls had been freed.
Alex looked at the clown with a tired, almost indifferent gaze, having fully categorized him as an excessively resilient parasite. He calmly lit a cigarette, then pulled a pair of brass knuckles from his pocket and slipped them onto his hands. Seeing that Alex was still full of strength, Dean and Sam gave him short nods. Alex smirked, walked past the members of the Losers’ Club, and positioned himself in front of them, shielding them with his body.
“No, Bobo, this is the end. I told you that the first time. You only left back then because I let you. And now you’ve become boring. I think it’s time to finish breaking you. Playing with a broken toy isn’t fun anymore,” Alex said, looming over Pennywise.
“I… AM NOT… A TOY! I—” Pennywise snarled, staring at Alex.
“I don’t give a damn who or what you are. You’re just another monster. And we’ve already killed hundreds like you,” Alex replied calmly, drawing back his arm to strike.
He didn’t let Pennywise finish. The blow landed square in his face, and the clown’s body was hurled backward, scattering stones. Alex instantly lunged after him and, not giving him a chance to rise, brought his foot crashing down onto Pennywise’s head. The clown’s skull burst with a sickening crack, yet even after that, he kept regenerating, clinging to existence with his last strength.
Pennywise tried to get up, but Alex grabbed him by the collar and flipped him over, slamming him into the ground with brutal force. A dull impact echoed, and cracks raced across the stone floor.
Without stopping, Alex began stomping on his chest, again and again, driving his foot down. With each strike, Pennywise’s ribcage caved in further, collapsing under the sheer force of the blows. Then Alex straddled him and started hammering his fists into the clown’s face.
Blood sprayed in every direction, and within those strikes was everything—rage, cold resolve, and the echoes of the pain of all those Pennywise had killed. One final punch smashed straight through the clown’s head, leaving a gaping hole. Alex pulled his fist back and saw the flesh beginning to knit itself together once more.
Grabbing Pennywise by the head, he began smashing his skull against the ground. The members of the Losers’ Club watched this without disgust—only with a sense that everything happening was completely deserved.
Dean and Sam dropped back to the floor, catching their breath, while Alex continued finishing off the clown. After smashing his head again, Alex wiped the blood from his face and raised his gaze to the Deadlights hovering above him. They now swayed weakly and unevenly, burning a dull gray instead of their usual bright yellow.
Alex understood: to finally put an end to Pennywise, he had to destroy them. These Lights were only a projection, like a finger stuck through a crack, while the main part of the entity still remained in Chaos. Realizing this, Alex frowned and looked at Pennywise, whose shell was already beginning to crumble.
“Come on, open your mouth. Time to end this game for real,” he said, grabbing the clown’s jaws.
Alex ripped Pennywise’s jaw open with force, not giving him a chance to recover. The fingers of his right hand ignited with pale black flame, and without hesitation, he shoved his hand into the clown’s throat, reaching for the Deadlights.
Grasping them, Alex traced the connection to the core of the entity and, using the power of destruction, began erasing the remnants of Pennywise in Chaos. The Lights above him trembled, flailing in all directions as if trying to escape their inevitable demise.
At that same moment, in Chaos, on a massive black platform holding the horrific tree, Nyan-Nyan and Yog sat on their thrones. They simultaneously turned their heads, sensing a familiar force. Nyan-Nyan gave a small smile, resting her hand on her cheek, while Yog simply blinked slowly and continued eating her sweets.
Alex clenched his hand, finally destroying the Deadlights. Pennywise’s body began turning to ash. Pulling his hand out of the clown’s mouth, Alex saw three spheres the size of ping-pong balls—remnants of the Deadlights—resting in his palm.
He kept them for use in the Red City and, while no one was watching, placed them on his shadow, allowing Zhang Ya to take them. The Lights hovering above him froze, then popped loudly, like soap bubbles.
Everyone understood—this was the end. Pennywise was finally defeated. But before relief could wash over them, the cave began to collapse. Alex snapped his head up and leapt to his feet while the others tried to comprehend what was happening.
“What are you standing there for?! Run! Or do you want to stay here forever?!” he shouted, charging toward the exit that had opened due to the cave’s tremors.
Dean and Sam immediately jumped up and followed Alex. Right behind them ran Bill, Ben—who helped Beverly stay on her feet—Mike, Richie, and Eddie, all trying not to fall behind. Reaching the incline to the surface, Alex started climbing first, glancing down from time to time to make sure no one was left behind.
Everyone knew perfectly well that the cave was collapsing, and no one even thought about stopping—the thought of being buried under tons of rock drove them forward. Alex reached the top first, extended a hand to Dean, then helped Sam out, and together the three of them pulled the others up, one by one.
But the shaking didn’t stop. Rocks fell somewhere behind with a dull crash, and as they were about to continue running through the sewer, their eyes simultaneously fell on a single point. A massive wave of sewage water was rushing toward them, filling the tunnel from floor to ceiling.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Richie exhaled, defeated.
“Better hold your breath,” Alex said calmly, his gaze empty.
At that very moment, a powerful wave swept over them. The current picked everyone up at once and hurled them through the sewer, twisting and tossing them until the water burst out where the drains emptied into the river. A massive flow gushed from the pipe, throwing them along with it. Alex surfaced with an indifferent expression, lying back on the water and staring at the sky, where the first pale colors of dawn were beginning to appear.
Dean and Sam made it to the riverbank nearby, breathing heavily and spitting out water that had gotten into their mouths. They immediately started helping the members of the Losers’ Club, who were seriously starting to think they would drown as the raging torrent carried them through the entire sewer.
Ben had held Beverly tightly the entire time, making sure the water didn’t sweep her away. When they were finally thrown closer to the surface, Beverly, still holding onto Ben, looked him in the eyes and unexpectedly kissed him on the lips.
“Mmm… tastes like sewage. I always knew you guys were weird,” Richie drawled, watching the scene.
“Back off, Richie,” Beverly snapped, shooting him an angry glare.
“Yeah, yeah,” he waved her off. “So where’s our sledgehammer-wielding clown killer? I don’t see him.”
“Looks like he’s over there,” Mike said tiredly, sitting on the bank and pointing toward the river.
Everyone turned their heads where he was pointing and saw Alex, calmly lying in the water and staring at the sky. Alex himself lay motionless, letting the water flow around his body as if it were completely ordinary.
He had long since grown used to the fact that after every major victory, some kind of chaos would happen, either tossing him somewhere or sweeping him along with the current. Enjoying the cool river water, he simply relaxed, watching the sky slowly lighten, until Dean appeared above him with his characteristic smirk.
“And how long are you planning to lie here? Time to head back. Or do we need to come get you in five minutes?” he asked teasingly.
“You won’t let me relax. I was almost reaching inner peace,” Alex replied, rolling his eyes.
“Yeah, you’ll have plenty of time for that later. Come on, get up. Time to go back. I’m hungry and I want to sleep,” Dean said, extending his hand to help Alex to his feet.
Alex smirked and grabbed Dean’s outstretched hand, letting him help him up. He shook himself off lightly and pushed his wet hair back so it wouldn’t fall into his eyes. Despite his exhaustion and soaked-through clothes, for Bill, Ben, Beverly, Mike, Richie, and Eddie, this moment marked the end of a long nightmare from which they had finally awakened.
After Pennywise’s final death, they could literally feel with their entire bodies something foreign leaving them—as if an invisible, heavy burden that had pressed down on their shoulders for years had finally vanished.
Returning to the riverbank with Dean, Alex glanced at them and gave a barely perceptible nod, understanding that for the Losers’ Club, a new life was beginning—without constant fear, without the oppressive shadow, without the pain that had haunted them for so many years.
Waving goodbye, Alex, Dean, and Sam silently headed back toward the city, as if they had not just killed a creature that had terrorized Derry for centuries, turning its residents into cruel, broken people and erasing their own memories of tragedy.
As they returned, they felt the city seem to wake fully—the air felt lighter, quieter, calmer. When they reached the road, they hadn’t even taken a step before the RV stopped in front of them, the door swung open, and Alice appeared on the threshold.
“Hey, handsome, want a ride for you and your friends?” she asked with a smile.
“Ha, I won’t say no,” Alex replied with a light chuckle.
“Then hop in,” Alice said, holding out her hand.
Alex smiled and took her hand, climbing into the RV. Dean and Sam followed quietly, chuckling to themselves. The first thing Alex did was change out of his wet clothes, and once that was taken care of, only one final formality remained—informing Graham Wright that everything was over.
GIR, MIMI, and Stitch, who were driving the RV, headed toward the community center that the Bureau of Control agents were using as a temporary base. Along the way, everyone already understood that a new mission and another long day on the road awaited them.
When the RV stopped at the community center, Alex decided to go in alone—just a quick check-in without staying long. Upon entering, he headed straight for Graham Wright, who had spotted him from a distance.
“Great work, agent. Our equipment is already recording the changes—the consequences of the astral being’s presence are fading,” Wright said, extending his hand.
“I’d say it’s over… but I’ve still got work ahead. Hope I don’t have to file a report?” Alex replied, shaking his hand.
“So you’re heading to Silent Hill next. I’ll notify Fernandez, who blocked the city entrance, that you’re already on your way. As for the report, don’t worry—I’ll prepare a detailed account of what happened and its aftermath myself,” Graham said with a slight smile.
“And what happened after we killed the clown? We just got swept away by the sewage water and thrown into the river,” Alex clarified, raising an eyebrow.
“The so-called ‘Cursed House’ completely collapsed, sinking into the ground. Several blocks settled, roads cracked. It could have been much worse if you hadn’t requested the equipment to stabilize the spatial field,” Wright explained calmly.
“Exactly. As I wrote in the report, that clown had parasitized this area for too long and became part of it. Good thing there were no unnecessary civilian casualties,” Alex said, nodding slightly.
“I understand. Well, it was a pleasure working with you, Agent Voldigoad. I hope we cross paths again. Same goes for the Winchester agents—they saved quite a few lives despite all the chaos,” Graham added with a smile.
“Likewise, Agent Wright. Until next time,” Alex said, extending his hand for a farewell shake.
Graham shook firmly and nodded. After saying goodbye, Alex returned to the RV. The moment he stepped inside, he saw that Dean and Sam had already passed out and were fast asleep. Alex stretched and decided to follow their example. He sat on the couch, rested his head on Lucina’s lap, and almost instantly fell asleep, gathering strength for the next mission and the pile of problems awaiting them in the Silent Hill area.
Lucina looked at him and gently stroked his hair, helping him drift fully into sleep. Alice, sitting behind the wheel, glanced back, saw that all three were asleep, and immediately pressed the gas pedal. The RV slowly pulled out of Derry.
To be continued…
(So that’s the end of Pennywise. I could certainly stretch out the chapters, show much more, and tell much more about Derry. But what’s the point? The most important thing is to kill the Clown, everything else goes to hell. So the next stop is either Silent Hill, or a random event along the way. Who knows, we’ll find out tomorrow. See you tomorrow, I’m going to go get something to eat.)
