Chapter 2: [2] Primordial Collection
Theron was still trying to wrap his head around what he had seen, he fell to his knees and placed both hands on his head. His eyes dark.
To him, this was…
’Absolute shit!’
God devourer blade, Demonic dragon bloodline, Celestial devourer system!
’Why didn’t I get any of them?! What the fuck is a primordial collection?’
He imagined it as some ancient god’s collection of unique bones or a stack of beautiful stones.
’I knew my luck was shit, this was all a scam!’
But while he was wallowing in his pain, Yennefer’s voice reached him.
“This can’t be possible. Even among divine items, this has a 0.000001 chance of getting pulled!”
Theron froze.
“Hmm? Keep going…”
Yennefer smiled and jumped to her feet, placing her hands on his shoulders. “Do you know what this means?”
“Apparently, I don’t.”
“The Primordial Collection is heaven’s collection of every single SSS-Rank skill in existence, across all seven realms of existence!”
“W-what did you say?!” Theron jumped to his feet, accidentally bumping his head into Yennefer’s chin.
It was painful, but he didn’t care.
“Owww!” Yennefer stumbled back, rubbing her red chin.
Meanwhile, Theron was punching the air, a wide smile on his face as he jumped from place to place in the dark realm.
“That’s right! I never doubted it was great!”
Yennefer glared at him then sighed. “As I was saying… the Primordial Collection may not make you god level from the start…”
“The collection is limited based on the user, because access to everything will fry your brain from the moment you start…”
“But! Unlike most of the other divine items, the collection has the potential to scale universal level!”
Theron was nodding slowly, a smile on his face as he heard her words. No matter the disadvantage it came with, just having this alone already put him heads above everyone else.
But Yennefer’s next words made him freeze.
“Because of the nature of this artifact, you will need to be accompanied into the next world by an official… good news, I’m right here!”
He was still smiling when he turned to face her. “Hmmm?”
“Phew!” She breathed out. “Finally, I get to rest in the world of mortals, angel work is so stressful!”
“Sorry? Could you repeat that?”
Theron felt a shiver run down his spine at the thought of the perverted angel accompanying him.
“Mortals cook some of the best dishes! I’m going to enjoy the next five hundred years at the very least!” She smiled, her cheeks blushing red.
Theron speed walked up to her and smiled politely. “Hey… can I choose someone else?”
“Your reincarnation world has already been set, it is the novel you were reading when you died.” She said, ignoring him but smiling politely.
“There must be other angels right? More experienced people that will be actually of help…”
“You will only gain back your memories after 18 years…”
Theron paused and let out a grunt of approval.
“Really? That means I get to skip all that reincarnation nonsense, that is great.” Theron smiled. “Wait, stop changing the topic—!”
Yennefer smiled, her face brightening up as she watched him. “Let’s get going, before the reincarnation gate closes!” She lifted her hand.
“Wait—!”
Snap!
The angel snapped her finger and the world turned dark.
That was how Theron ended up getting transported to his next life, accompanied by a perverted angel trainee.
***
The forest was on fire. The stench of death lingered in the air, like a miasma, corroding everything in sight.
Black smoke drifted into the sky, darkening even the already dark night, accompanied by screams that rose to the heavens above.
There were sounds of cracking wood as the fires consumed ancient houses that had stood for centuries, the metallic shrill of swords as they met elven flesh—
And then laughter.
Deep, guttural laughter that celebrated the agony and reveled in their suffering.
Mercenaries, dozens of them, were raiding an elven village deep in the forest, murdering, plundering, and destroying everything in sight.
Laying on the floor, bleeding from the side of his face was a young man with long dark blue hair and azure blue eyes that shone like crystals.
He was kneeling next to a corpse, a man with similar features, tears soaking his face and clothes.
“Brother!” He screamed, his agony threatening to drown him. “Don’t leave me, don’t leave us…”
It was too late. His brother was long dead.
His eyes were glazed over with tears and soon, there were no more tears left to even shed.
The man in front of him had been the lord of the wood elves. And although they were weak, had given his life to protect them.
Now the responsibility fell on Eliron’s shoulders.
But he was weak. He was afraid. He was a disgrace to the elves.
He wept bitterly, cursing his own weakness. Deep inside him, he wanted to be more, he knew he should have been better than this!
And yet, things had still ended up this way.
The sounds of horses reached his ears as the mercenaries stopped in front of him.
“Hey look at that one over there. She’s a pretty girl, let’s take her with us.” Said one of the mercenaries, watching him with lecherous eyes.
Eliron crawled back, his eyes wide in fear.
’Humans!’
“Wait, I think that is actually a boy!” Said the other man, his eyes displaying his shock.
“The hell? Hahahaha, why is he so slender?” He laughed.
Another mercenary, more composed than the others, jumped down from his horse, an evil smile on his face.
“The wood elves rarely have enough food for themselves, and their royalty eat last while the common folk eat first. That must be why he’s so thin.”
“Bwahahaha! What kind of logic is that?”
The composed man shrugged with indifference. “Kill him, those were our orders.”
“Ahh, come on boss, that won’t be any fun!”
As the mercenaries were discussing among each other, they failed to notice the change in the young elf.
Theron blinked, staring at his bloodstained hands.
’Where the hell am I?’
He glanced around, his eyes moving through the burning city, and settling on the mercenaries chatting in front of him.
Don’t tell me…
His gaze darkened.
’To think I actually reincarnated into this story.’
Titan’s Tribulations.
It was a medieval fantasy novel about a hero’s journey to defeat the seven disaster-class supernatural beings.
Theron searched his mind, 18 years of his memories flowing into him in the blink of an eye.
He nearly stumbled back as his brain was overloaded, but managed to stay standing, slowly shaking his head as sweat flowed down his face.
His name was Eliron, the brother to the former Elven lord, a character that had not previously existed in the novel.
These people dying all around him were his people, the burning city was his city…
A pang of pain filled his heart, but Eliron shook it off.
’I need to focus.’
Although the pain of losing his brother was still fresh in his heart, Eliron pushed it to the corner of his mind.
It was 18 years of his life in this world battling against twenty-five years of his memories on Earth.
It was no wonder that his older memories could suppress the emotion, fear, and anguish that had been crippling him moments ago.
’What arc in the story is this?’
Any second from now and the mercenaries will come for his head.
’That is it!’
Eliron finally remembered what arc of the story he was in— Red Rain!
Currently, he was in Atrais, the city of the wood elves. It was on this very day they lost their leader, the start of their downward decline to extinction.
They were wiped out before the end of the year.
And the mercenaries in front of him… they were the cause of everything, and now they were going to kill him too.
’Where is she?’
Eliron could not spot the perverted angel anywhere, and he had no idea how to access the Primordial Collection.
He quickly looked around, spotting a sword next to the dead lord. Eliron noiselessly grabbed it and pointed it at the mercenaries, taking a step back.
But one of the mercenaries noticed him and laughed. “Look at that, the twink wants to fight! Hahaha!”
The men burst into laughter, and pulled out their swords, jumping down from their horses.
’What the hell, twink?’
Eliron stared down at his hands, his mouth hanging open when he saw how slender he was.
In his last life, he had been an engineer so he had a decent build, but right now—
’Why are my arms so girly?!’
He could barely carry a bucket of water, talk more of a bag of cement.
’Damn it!’
His chances of survival had just dropped by a large margin!
The mercenaries were already getting ready to strike, their eyes glaring at him like ravenous wolves, when they all froze.
Right before their eyes, a woman suddenly materialized out of thin air.
Her silver shimmering hair was flowing behind her like a calm river, and her golden eyes were like embers as they reflected the fire of the burning village.
Even her slightest movements were graceful, and an air of perfection permeated the room at her arrival.
But to their surprise, she wrapped her arms around the slender elf’s neck and smiled.
“Did you miss me?”
