“As for Azarath…” Sirius’ voice suddenly pulled Eliron out of his thoughts. “Shall I expel him from the tower?”

He tapped his feet in a rhythmic tune, tilting his head slightly as he thought about it.

“Or maybe I should have him whipped, then expel him.” A small, dark smile blossomed on his face.

“N-no need for that. I have already thought him quite the beating, and I fear I may have gone a bit overboard…”

Eliron could remember the look the grand mage had when he was escorted to the infirmity.

It was a look of pure terror, mixed up with relief. For a moment, Eliron wondered if he went too far, up until he remembered that he had almost cost Artie her life… nope, he definitely deserved it.

Having Azarath expelled from the tower was actually giving him an easy way out.

He was an important figure in the war against the undead, meaning there were several days of agony waiting for him in the future.

Eliron was not such a villain that he would spoil his fun.

“You are as merciful as a lord should be.” Sirius’ voice was softer than usual, a bit of approval in his eyes.

“I’ll get Azarath to write you a formal letter of apology, even if I have to tie him to his desk to do so.” He fumed.

Eliron grinned maliciously while nodding. “Kindness is indeed a trait everyone in power should have.”

He then cleared his throat. “Now, shall we talk about my compensation?”

“C-compensation??”

“Of course! I had to suffer mental and emotional harm having to fight that brute of a Grand Mage. “As a result I must be compensated as well…”

Sirius gave him a deadpan look. “Emotional damage? If anything you seemed to be enjoying yourself—”

“Umm? What was that??”

The archmage pouted, folding his hands across his chest. “I said what can I help you with?” He replied after a long second.

Eliron’s smile broadened. “It is good to see we are on the same page.”

He adjusted his position on the couch and stuffed his hand into his pocket, bringing out a small list.

Even Yen was surprised by it. “When did you even have time to write this?”

“There is always time… Uhum… first of all…”

Eliron began to list all the things he was demanding as compensation from the tower. They included spellbooks for the mages, a couple of magical items and a few other things he was too lazy to get by himself.

Each request to Sirius, felt like being pricked by a needle. He was asking for grimoires, high value magic books that the magic tower would have never given out in a different circumstance.

But after the mess the grand mage had made, he had no choice but to oblige.

Worse of all, the elven lord also seemed to be using them to complete his shopping list. Knowing how proud the mages were, telling them to get vegetables and dried meat was going to be a hassle…

Sirius sighed, listening as Eliron continued reading them out.

“Some onions, peppers, an eye of unfolding, dried cucumbers…”

When Eliron was done, he read out the last item. In truth, this was the major thing he needed from the tower.

“I want the magic tower to open a branch in Artaris when we are done constructing the building.” Eliron said in a very, ’buisnes’ tone.

The magic tower was not a single institution that operated in Donia alone. It was more like a guild that spread out through several continents, each one maintaining some level of independence over themselves.

Having a magic tower in Artaris would mean that professional mages would be available to properly build up their mages.

Although monetary resources were good, there were things that money could not buy. The training techniques, tomes of knowledge and insight the tower mages had was invaluable.

While Eliron was an amazing mage, he had never learned the basics, so he often had to teach them from his knowledge from novel, and sadly, it was not always sufficient.

Although Sirius had accepted all of Eliron’s requests so far, when he heard this one, he took a moment to properly think it through.

“Approving a new tower is a complicated process…” he muttered. “The Magus Supreme would have to personally approve it, and so would the council…”

“All of whom owe you have a good relationship with. Am I right?” Sirius was one of the oldest tower mage, meaning his input and requests were often taken very seriously.

The Archmage stared at his now empty cup for a few seconds then his shoulders slumped.

“I’ll see what I can do.” He made a tired face. “But I can’t guarantee anything.”

“Then we have a deal.” Eliron got to his feet and stretched. “Thank you Sirius.”

Sirius nodded. He seemed eager to see them leave so that he could probably stuff his face back into the book resting by his chair.

Eliron discreetly read the title of the novel, his face immediately contorting in shock.

“What? Is there a problem?” Sirius asked when he noticed Eliron’s stare.

“Ah, no, not at all. Let’s be on our way…”

Eliron created a portal, about to step in when the Archmage turned to address him. His tone was firm, bearing a clear warning.

“Lord Eliron, about the high elves. I can hold them off for sometime, but…”

He nodded, understanding what the Archmage was getting at.

“Leave them to me.”

And with that, Eliron warped his group out of the tower, and back to the city.

“All that waking… all the healing…” Yennefer held Eliron’s shoulder like she was on the verge of fainting.

“It was tiring you know?”

He raised a brow. “How can you be hungry after eating so much rice?”

Yen let go of his arm and wrapped her arms around Artie instead, pushing her a bit forward. “Hungry? Who said I’m hungry??”

She blinked nervously, her cheeks flushing pink. “A-Artie hasn’t eaten! Artie you are hungry, right?”

“I just need a bath…”

“See? She’s starving! We need to get her some food!”

Yen paused for a few seconds. Then began fiddling with her fingers. “It’s…poor manners to let someone eat alone, so I’ll join you, yes? But not because I’m hungry!”

Eliron gave her a deadpan stare then slowly shook his head in a disappointed manner.

“Fine, let’s go. But after Artie has her bath.” She was still covered in her blood.

“Yay!” Yen leaped up in joy.

They were about to head into their inn when someone held Eliron by the shoulder.

He turned around and saw Alexander, now back in his mask, staring at him intently.

’I almost forgot about this guy…’

“What?”

The prince spoke seriously, his eyes never leaving Eliron’s. “We need to talk.”
