Chapter 101: Chapter 100: The Tomb of Larcov

The large Ancient Tomb Of Larcov loomed over Zoey and her crew as they stood at the entrance of this large ruin lost in time.

Many legends had been spread out all across the seven seas, where the world’s most feared pirate had apparently kept their treasure hidden, using special artefacts to seal them away.

“We’re here captain,” Evan announced, staring at the aged old building that looked like it could fallmat any moment now, cracks adorned the massive tomb as a huge stone blocked the entrance, requiring those of huge strength to increase it.

’From my memories, we’ve already been here before.’ Zoey thought, placing her hand on the round huge stone as she recalled Felicia’s memories.

Many pirates have gathered here, and some even fought and spilled blood to discover the Ancient treasure belonging to the world’s most feared pirate, Larcov. However, they discovered that to open it, they needed four legendary treasures that were deliberately spread out by Larcov before his death, written in Ancient writings and riddles.

“Are you all ready?” Zoey asked, her aura flaring up. She looked back at the entrance that blocked them, and without waiting for an answer, she broke the large mass of stone into pieces with one punch, clearing the way for them as a large tunnel immediately became visible.

“Why would you do that captain?” A pirate asked, a bit intimidating as he saw how easily Zoey had broken the large stone blocking their path, but was originally meant to be used a test for those daring to enter this ancient place.

Zoey merely grinned at the broken rubble beneath her feet, finding it highly amusing to have such strength to wield.

“There won’t be a need for this door anymore, as the treasures inside of this place will become ours.” She replied, chuckling slightly as she stepped into the tunnel.

The pirates immediately became riled up and ecstatic as they were finally about to claim the treasure, that no pirate had ever found in years.

They followed Zoey into the tunnel, with some breaking into excited chatter of the treasures that awaited them.

However….

After Zoey and her crew were out of view, a few tall and imposing figures made their appearance behind some large rocks, as they immediately overheard the whole discussion between Zoey and her crew, their eyes gleaming with wicked glee.

One of them spoke, their words laced with excitement and a taste of wild wrath.

“Why don’t we strike now? They have the [Hydra’s Tear]! The [Hydra’s Tear]! That’s the last artefact we need to unlock proceed further into Larcov’s Ancient Tomb and gain it’s treasures!” They spoke, their voice laced with urgency.

“He’s right, if we strike now, we can have a head start before anyone else could discover that Felicia and her crew arrived on Vedrynn!” Another chimed in, bearing a toothy grin.

“Quiet you fools, don’t you feel it?” The strongest among them spoke in a deep menacing voice, looking at the entrance of Larcov’s Ancient Tomb.

“Her strength far eclipses ours, and if we attack her with just us, there’s no chance that we’ll survive.” He spoke, rubbing his beard.

“Remember, they had to take down a Hydra just to get that remaining treasure, and that’s one of the most terrifying beasts that roam the seas.

If we’re going to have a chance of taking the treasures from her, then we’re going to have to wait for her to return first, and in the meantime, we’re going to have to round up some more pirates to help us.”

His words immediately sent a large spark of shock to flow through his partners, their voices shrinking in sheer rage.

“What! You want us to work together with those other freaks!? I’d rather get my head sliced off by Neptune himself than work together with the likes of them!” The first one barked.

“How can we be certain that we can trust those sea urchins!? A pirate is the person you can trust the least, every pirate can backstab one another, and we’re no exception to that logic!”

The other two kept making their point to the strongest pirate, trying to convince him that working with other pirates wasn’t exactly the best idea.

“I know! But we don’t have any other choice now, do we? If Felicia and her crew get their hands on Larcov’s treasure, even though we’d probably have to split it once we kill her, it’s still a better option than just trying to face her head on.” The strongest captain spoke, sighing deeply.

“Would it suprise you to say that Felicia could probably kill us all, even if we all worked together?” He spoke, observing the shocked expressions of the other two.

“That’s impossible! There’s no way that she could be that powerful! Her strength wasn’t even comparable to someone like Thunder Hook, how would she be able to take us all on?”

The second one asked, his voice filled with anger and slight intimidation as he heard these farfetched words leave the mouth of the strongest pirate.

He sighed once again, how could he explain it to them? She was different, she had changed completely. Her aura was so deadly and powerful, that even without exuding killing intent, he could feel it’s suffocating weight press down on him, and he had to admit, that just from her aura alone, he was terrified.

“…Heh,” Zoey was listening to their conversation as she leaned against the wall and used her [Heightened Senses] Talent to enhance her hearing.

She had ordered her crew to move further ahead, as she secretly knew about their presence the moment they got here, she just decided to play along and wait for this exact moment where they would reveal their plans to her.

“They want to get rid of me huh?” She held back a chuckle from escaping her mouth, her crimson eyes shining with a demonic light as she grinned maliciously.

“Let’s see about that,” She spoke, glancing at them one last time before she walked deeper into the tunnel and started making her way towards her crew.

It didn’t matter how many they were, they would all fall to her blade.
