Chapter 52: Chapter 51: Clash With the Golem Lord

Zoey continued to battle her way through the constant hordes of Golems, her fists working hard to turn them into rubble with every reinforced punch, driven by determination and sheer excitement.

Third wave, fourth wave, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, nineth, Zoey fought through the constant hordes of Golems, utilizing her Skills to the fullest as she fought through the waves.

Zoey had managed to accumulate a ton of Materials from the slain Golems, [Worn Stone Gauntlets] which further boosted her attack power, and two new Skills from the Bosses she had slain through the waves.

“Ha…ha….” Zoey panted heavily, her breaths coming in short gasps. Her stamina was heavily worn out, barely at 20% as she sat down at a large pillar to recover her strength.

“I’m so tired…my arms are aching…” Zoey glanced at her arms, which were throbbing with exhaustion from the constant punches she had to dash out, as they were her most effective form of attack.

’The dungeon has to be my greatest challenge yet, I never felt this tired in a while.’ Zoey thought as her memories flashed back to her first dungeon raid, remembering her first time where her Stamima had reached 0%. A small chuckle escaping her lips.

[Hindering Earth] and [Meteor Smash] were the new Skills she had obtained and had levelled up to max through constant usage and using the materials from the Golems.

[Hindering Earth] was a passive skill that further boosted her defences, it was another Skill that had similar effects to [Earth Skin], however, just this time, it had an ability that could reflect a small percent of damage back to her opponents if she were to ever get hit. A pretty powerful Skill that made her feel unbreakable.

[Meteor Smash] on the other hand was an attack skill that increased her attacks when in the air, and dealt powerful destructive damage as Mana needs to be stored in the attack and charged, before being released in a powerful burst of power.

These two skills made clearing the waves far more easier, as her newly max-powered skills made her a beast in comparison to the Golems, to which even the Bosses weren’t much of a problem with her arsenal of skills.

’I think I can recover a bit,’ Zoey thought as she continued to rest, with every wave she cleared, the time for more enemies to arrive increased, to which in between she could catch a break. She sat there for a about 20 minutes, and finally, her Stamina had recovered fully.

Her Mana had also recovered fully through the usage of [Concentration Breathing], as she felt full of energy, just waiting to be unleashed.

She rose from the ground as she glanced at her hands at the [Worn Stone Gauntlets], the gauntlets were covered by a rough grimy stone, a sleek white colour that resembled that of some of the Golems she had slain.

’Phew,’ Zoey breathed out as she clenched her fists, grinning excitedly as she felt the air around her growing heavier. This presence she was feeling was far more powerful than the Boss Golems she had dealt with before, it was surely more intimidating, enough to make her break a nervous sweat down her face.

’Looks like this is the final challenge, the Lord is here.’ A wry, yet excited grin formed on her face as she prepared herself, glancing at the gigantic figure of the Golem Lord as it made it’s appearance.

It’s form was charred in black stone, powerful crimson and golden runes pulsed on it’s body like a heartbeat, a powerful aura emanating from the Lord that made the air buzz with power.

Sharp spikes peaked from it’s shoulder blades, two crimson eyes that glowed frighteningly looked at Zoey as the figure of the Lord stepped out of the portal, it’s height far exceeding Zoey’s as it almost reached the ceiling of the Golem Sanctuary, stealing her breath away.

’Woah! Why is it so big!?’ Zoey stared at the Golem Lord in shock, a sharp and shaky chill running up her spine, her legs starting to tremble to a little. The enemy infront of her far exceeded her power, the stone and hard rock it was made out of, looked impenetrable, as it thrummed with power and a dangerous aura.

The Lord stepped forward as it made it’s way toward Zoey, the ground trembling under the weight of it’s being, shocking Zoey out of her surprised stupor as she quickly shook her head.

Now was not the time to be afraid, she had come to conquer the dungeon, not the other way around.

’I’ll give it my all!’ Zoey shouted, her face shifting to one full of determination as she immediately activated [Hardened Will], [King’s Fury], and [Grace Of The Wind], her figure shooting toward the Golem Lord with powerful speeds that made the earth beneath her shatter.

Zoey’s arm glowed with a strong blue hue as [Meteor Smash] was activated, her fist crackling with powerful destructive energy.

She raised her fist in the air to deliver a powerful strike, however, much to Zoey’s shock, the Lord raised it’s arm to defend against the blow, a powerful shockwave ringing out as Zoey’s fist connected with it’s arm, a hard crack forming in it’s gigantic arm.

’Damn…that barely did anything.’ Zoey observed the damage done by her blow, ’And the Lord managed to block it!!’ Zoey immediately knew that this was going to be a pretty difficult challenge, as no Golems prior to this had ever managed to match her speed, especially when [Grace Of The Wind] was activated.

The Lord raised it’s arm as it threw her away with it’s sleeve, sending her flying to the ground below. Zoey’s figure rapidly approached the ground as her hair flapped rhythmically, before she quickly adjusted her body to the air resistance and managed to flip in the air, landing with an impressive backflip, albeit very difficultly.

’That was close.’ Zoey glanced at the floor behind her for a moment, before turning her attention back to the Lord. She watched as the Lord raised it’s leg high in the air, before bringing it down with so much force it caused massive Earth Spikes to shoot up from the ground, sharper than any blade Zoey had ever seen, moving at a rapid speed.

’!!!’[Heightened Senses] was instantly activated as Zoey quickly leaped out of the way, the large earth spike nearly missing her and tearing through the air, managing to steal her breath away from how deadly the attack was.

She was confident if that attack managed to hit her, she’d definitely suffer major injuries, and could even possibly die, even with her powerful defensive skills.

’Damn.’ Zoey glanced at the Lord which prepared to stomp it’s feet again as it raised it’s leg high in the air again, but Zoey was prepared this time as she quickly bolted away to avoid the devastating attack, leaping high in the air and landing on one of the many pillars of the Golem Sanctuary.

’I need to wear it’s defences down. Good thing I have a Skill just for that, hahaha!’ Zoey laughed inwardly with a excited smile as she quickly leaped towards the Lord, jumping pillar to pillar as she neared the Lord with quick speeds.

Zoey struck out her arm and spread her palm as she felt that she was at a good enough distance between the two, activating [Armour Weathering] as a powerful black pulse shot from her palm and toward the Lord, a far darker manifestation of Mana she had ever released with the Skill, a true testament to it’s maxed out abilities.

The dark pulse of Mana hit the Lord directly as soon after, it’s massive form was shrouded in a large black mist that covered it’s body. Meaning that the Skill was effective and had reduced the Lord’s defences, much to Zoey’s delight as a small giggle of excitement left her lips, her eyes gleaming wickedly as this was her chance to start dealing unparalleled amounts of damage to the Lord.

’Now then.’ Zoey quickened her pace as she dropped onto the ground and ran toward the Lord with everything she had, her feet a rhythmic pound on the floor as hurriedly ran to the Lord.

Once the cool down for [Grace Of The Wind] was over, Zoey didn’t hesitate to activate it as she exploded with a burst of speed and instantly neared the Lord’s face once more.

’That’s not going to work like last time.’ Zoey thought as she gazed at the Lord raising it’s arm to defend against her impending strike once more, but Zoey immediately activated [Meteor Smash] as her hand burst into a powerful amount of Mana, glowing menacingly as she brought her full powered, [Hardened Will], [King’s Fury], and [Meteor Smash] enhanced fist down upon the Golem Lord.
