Chapter 34: Chapter 33: Spectral Transcendance

“Woah! Did you see that? That fight was absolutely wicked!” One of the Mages of the Raging Phoenix Guild exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with radiance as bright as the sun.

“I didn’t think she’d be that good already, I mean, she had just Awakened recently, but her progression is insane! Did you see how strong those fireballs were?” Another chimed in, admiration visible in their voice.

As many Hunters of The Raging Phoenix Guild started to leave the training grounds, many whispers and talks about the new member of their guild: Zoey, were spreading around like wildfire.

A man with disheveled silver hair that covered his eyes stood by the side of the wall with his arms crossed, turning his head as he listened to the conversations of the Hunters that were leaving, his curiousity peaked.

He was a renowned B-Rank Hunter, currently ranked 10th In the Elite Rankings of their guild, the “Dominator”, Kyle Zenith, and the strongest B-Ranked Hunter in Sunrow.

“Tch, a new Hunter joining our rankings?” He clicked his tongue with a scoff, rolling his golden eyes that shone like stars, added with his handsome features, he was considered to being one of the most attractive men in the guild, with some of the girls going crazy over him.

‘Zoey, they seriously recruited her Into our guild?’ Kyle thought curiously, raising a brow at the prospect, he wasn’t blind to the news that spread around their guild like flames, her A+Ranked Talent reached his ears and deeply intrigued him.

“Kyle!” A woman with long silver hair similar to his called his name as she walked toward him, her golden eyes the exact same as his, hinting to their shared bloodline.

“What do you want? Mira?” He asked, his tone deeply annoyed as he pushed himself off the wall, eyeing her with narrowed eyes.

“We have a dungeon to raid, and it’s close to breaking, we’ll need your help for this.” Mira said, “And I’m not taking no for an answer.” She added with a cold tone that send shivers down his spine, the feeling he dreaded as he knew of the ginormious strength his sister held, as she was far stronger than he was, much to his displeasure.

“Fine damn it,” He sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, scratching it as if it were itching.

“And seriously, get a hair cut. You’re our guild’s strongest B-Rank Hunter, you can’t look like that, it’s ridiculous.” She said with a sneer, before turning around and striding off to prepare for the dungeon raid, her steps long and prideful.

“Damn it.” He grumbled under his breath as he begrudgingly followed her, his thoughts drifting to Zoey as he continued to walk after her, an unknown smile forming on his face.

‘I’ll need to test her myself when I return, as someone like her can’t just take a spot into the Elite Rankings of our guild effortlessly. Not after all the work and struggles I went through to get here.’ He thought as the light in his eyes intensified with blind rage and jealousy, a warm golden aura forming around his body as he clenched his fists.

“Woah…” Zoey gasped in suprise as she took in the marvellous sight infront of her, her crimson eyes twinkling with joy as she gazed at the five Skill Books placed on a desk for her to take, radiating different glows of colours that spoke of the power hidden inside them.

They were inside the Skill Book section of the guild as multiple Hunters roamed the shop, searching for Skill Books that they could buy with their hard earned money to strengthen themselves with, adding to their arsenal.

“Hehe~” Sarina chuckled as she placed a warm hand on Zoey’s shoulder, “Go ahead, take them. We still have a B-Rank weapon left to explore, done we?” She said, gesturing to Skill Books.

“Alright…” Zoey swallowed hard as she picked up the first Skill Book, one that had a rough earth cover, glowing with a green aura. The rough surface of the Skill Book was hard to grasp, the green glow of the aura around it made Zoey shiver slightly with the power that eminated of the book, a C-Rank Skill Book.

‘Let’s see…’ Zoey thought as her crimson sleek, luminous panel appeared infront of her, showcasing the Skill Book’s details.

[Earth Skin(C+)(Passive)]

[Description: Your defences are heavily increased, giving you durability as tough as the strongest stones.]

[Effect-1:Earth Guard: Attacks from weapons, and blunt attacks are reduced significantly, dealing minor damage.]

‘Damn!’ Zoey thought with suprised eyes as she read the Skill Book’s contents, finding them to be quite powerful. She knew that if she were to absorb this and level it up to the maximum, then she’d definetly have a large advantage in battle.

‘Just what I needed! Now I don’t have to worry much about getting hurt. Plus, this is one’s a Passive Skill, so I don’t even have to worry about spamming it in battle, as it will just level up by itself with time.’

She thougnt with a playful grin, immediately storing the Skill Book into her inventory, turning her attention on the next Skill Book as she picked up another one, this one with a black cover and emmiting a red aura around it.

[Hardened Will(C)]

[Description: Your determination to push through grants you increased strength by 20%, fuelling your attacks and causing them to deal increased damage.]

‘This is good too, increased damage will always come in handy, too bad this isn’t a passive skill though, otherwise I wouldn’t have to do extra work by leveling this up as well.’

Zoey thought with a small smile, storing it as well as she continued to look through the rest of the Skill Books.

[Concentration Breathing(C+)]

[Description: Through sheer concentrated breaths, you absorb a small percentage of the Mana in the air, increasing the rate at which your Mana recovers. The rate of Mana regeneration could be enhanced when exposed to areas with high Mana, additionally boosting Elemental Skills by 10%]

‘!!!’ Zoey’s breath hitched in her throat as she read the description, she had got a Skill that boosts Mana Regeneration!

Her thoughts immediately drifted back to the [Slime King’s Essence] that she still had in her [Inventory], as she was planning on using it to craft an elixer that would boost her Mana regeneration, but with this book, her Mana regeneration would be absolutely insane, not to mention how even more insane it would be after she took the elixer.

Zoey giggled excitedly as she thought of the bright future that was awaiting her with this Skill, as if it were to be brought to max power, the effects would be deadly, she would probably be able to use Skills more efficiently with this.

‘This is such an overpowered skill to have so soon, but I’ll take it and make the best of it!’

Zoey thought with determination coursing through her veins and a radiating glint forming in her eyes, shining brightly with trepidation.

‘Oooh~This isn’t bad either, would definetly make fights against stronger opponents more easy, hehe~’ Zoey thought as she stored it, and finally, just one more Skill Boom remained.

Zoey was satisfied with the amazing types of Skill Books she had received, they were definitely going to be of important use to her, as these Skills had just greately boosted Zoey’s power, and they weren’t even absorbed and levelled up yet.

Zoey quickly stored the [Grace Of The Wind] Skill Book as she was now done here, she turned to Sarina who met her gaze with a mischievous grin.

“Satisfied? I picked these out especially for you~” She said with a sweet tone, her voice dripping with nectar.

“These books are fantastic!” Zoey couldn’t restrain her excitement, clenching her fists out of pure joy and the thought of growing stronger as soon as possible, with these in her arsenal, she’d definetly be able to raiding a D-Rank dungeon without any problem, maybe even C-Rank if she had to stretch it a bit, as it would definetly bring her to leveling up.

“Glad to hear you’re satisfied, now then, let’s go grab that weapon for you, dear~” Sarina said as she lead Zoey towards the weapon section of the shop, fueling Zoey’s curiousity as she wanted to see what Sarina had picked out for her this time.

‘A B-Rank Weapon!’ Zoey thought as an excited giggle escaped her lips, ‘I can’t wait!’
