The status window hovered infront of Zoey as she stared at it with a contemplative expression, “Darn…” She muttered under her breath, after absorbing everything in her [Inventory], her experience only increased by 8000%.

‘So many Items, Weapons, Armor, Materials, and Skill Books down the drain…’ Zoey thought displeased, even after using hundreds of Items, her experience was still far away from leveling up, showing just how much harder leveling became for her.

“No matter, I’ll just have to invest my experience into my Skills once I receive them from the Raging Phoenix Guild.” Zoey thought with a slight smile forming on her face, just imaging the crazy benefits waiting for her at the guild.

“Now then…” She spoke under her breath as she grabbed her phone from her night stand, quickly dialing Christine’s number.

“I hope she isn’t asleep right now…”

The phone rang as Zoey waited for a few seconds, sitting on the edge of her bed. The seconds dragged on as it felt like hours were passing, before finally, the call connected and Christine picked up the call, her voice groggy and sleepy.

[Christine: “Huh…Zoey?”] She answered, sounding half-asleep.

[Zoey: “Christine! I have something important to tell you.”]

Christine yawned over the phone as she curiously raised a brow, wondering what Zoey would want to tell her, especially considering that it was important.

[Christine: “Yeah? What is it?”]

Zoey took a deep breath as she steeled herself a bit, the weight of her massive accomplishment weighing slightly on her shoulders.

[Zoey: “I….I got accepted into the Raging Phoenix Guild.]

Zoey answered, a bit of excitement laced in her voice. Christine’s eyes widened as she couldn’t believe what she had just heard, a silence dragged on between the call after Zoey had said that, before a suprised shout rang from Christine, the noise stinging Zoey’s ears as she was pushed back by an invisible force.

[Christine: “What!?”] Christine shouted in disbelief, her voice echoing in Zoey’s room.

Zoey closed her eyes as she frowned slightly at Christine’s loud shout, causing her minor ears to ring a bit, but she quickly shook it off. A small giggle escaping her lips as she found Christine’s suprise endearing.

[Zoey: “Mhm, I’m apart of the guild now, and I’ll be entering their Elite Rankings as well.”]

[Christine: “Wait seriously? What were they offering you? And did they obey your conditions?”]

[Zoey: “They offered me a lot, honestly. A ridiculous amount of money, five C-Rank Skill Books, Access to their advanced training facilities, and a B-Rank weapon. It’s a bit crazy honestly.]

Zoey ended with an excited laugh escaping her lips as she flopped onto her back, grinning happily as she couldn’t stop smiling. Christine sighed in relief over the phone as she clutched her chest, feeling a radiating warmth and happiness for Zoey.

[Christine: “Heh, well I’m glad you changed your mind and decided on joining a guild, especially the Raging Phoenix Guild. You’ll definitely progress much faster with them backing you up, and gain much higher status as one of their Elites.] Christine said, chuckling slightly under her breath, before continuing.

[Christine: “I can’t wait to see how I’ll fair once I awaken as well, maybe if I’m lucky, I’ll be joining you there.”]

Zoey blinked in suprise, her curiousity peaked at the future of Christine’s awakening.

[Zoey: “Hehe, we’ll see. Anyway, I’ll be returning back to Sunrow tommorow. It’s been a while since I’ve been there, but I’m a bit worried about running into my family back home…”]

Zoey’s words trailed off as memories of her life flashed back before her eyes, the mistreatment and constant abuse weighing heavily on her mind as her expression darkened.

[Christine: “I see….I’ll be missing you Zoey. However, If any of your family members dares approach you again, and dare try mistreat you again, they’ll face my wrath!!!”]

Christine replied over the phone, her voice laced with sheer rage and determination.

A small smile appeared on Zoey’s face as she remembered that Christine would always have her back, and that she didn’t need to worry about anything as long as she had her support.

[Zoey: “I’ll contact you immediately if that happens, hehe~”] Zoey ended with a small chuckle, [“Anyway, I’ll leave you to rest now. Goodnignt.”] Zoey said, before cutting the call as she placed her phone on the night stand.

‘I won’t let them control my life again…’ Zoey thought as she clenched her fists in determination, her eyes narrowing as they shone with a bright intensity that spoke of her will of rising to the top.

She quickly got up from her bed as she changed into something more comfortable, before climbing into the covers and drifting off to sleep.

The rays of golden sunshine permeated through Zoey’s curtains as they landed on her face, causing her to stir awake. She quickly grabbed her phone and checked the time, realizing it was early in the morning, rising from her bed.

“Hehe, Guild time.” Zoey muttered to herself with an excited grin, as today was the day she would be receiving her benefits for joining the guild. She quickly got herself ready as she took a quick shower and got changed out of her pajamas, wearing something more presentable.

Zoey heard a knock on her door as she quickly turned around and walked over to open it, finding Sarina standing in her doorway, a pleased grin on her face as a puff of smoke left her lips.

“Morning Sunshine, ready to leave?” Sarina asked with a slight eyebrow raise, receiving a nod from Zoey as she stepped out of her room and locked it behind her.

“I’m set to leave, but there’s one more thing I have to handle quickly.” Zoey said, walking past her and down the stairs before reaching the landlord’s room and gently knocking on it.

The door opened with the grumpy granny as she angrily wondered who could it be bothering her this early in the morning, “Who-!” The granny was about to shout, but stopped as she gazed up at Zoey with a slightly suprised expression.

“Greetings Ms Landlord.” Zoey said with a nervous chuckle.

“What do you want?” The landlord asked, annoyed.

“I’m here to pay my rent, as well as the previous one I’ve missed.” Zoey said as she held out her phone, planning on paying directly to the landlord’s bank account.

“So you finally received some money now, huh?” The landlord grinned as she took out her own phone as she held it under Zoey’s, a small notification ringing from the received amount, a look of shock crossing the landlord’s face.

“10,000 Dollars!?” The landlord exclaimed suprised, “This is way more than needed, please you have to take some back.” The landlord said, a small glint of guild visible in her eyes, but Zoey shook her head.

“No, keep it. It’s my way of saying thank you.” Zoey said with a kind smile, leaving the landlord stupified by her sheer generosity.

Zoey waved her goodbye as she began walking with Sarina towards the limousine that awaited them, an agent waiting for them by the car as they opened the door for them.

Zoey climbed into the car as she sat by the backseat, but suprisingly, Sarina decided to sit next to her as she closed the car’s door.

“You wouldn’t mind If I sat next to you, would you?” Sarina asked with a mischievous grin.

Zoey stared at her for a few seconds, before sighing slightly “It’s fine, I don’t really mind.” She said, much to Sarina’s delight as she clasped her hands together in delight.

The car hummed as they drove out of the apartment complex, driving off and toward Sunrow City.

Zoey stared out of the window as she watched the buildings speed by, a small smile formed on her face as she let out a blissful sigh, the Raging Phoenix Guild was awaiting.
