Chapter 49: Chapter 48: Second Wave Showdown

“Haah!” Zoey roared as her figure descended from the sky, her two swords raised above her head before being crashed down hard on the Golem’s body, large chunks of stone and rock flying out as Zoey took the first Golem down.

Zoey’s attack and defence had been massively increased by her max-levelled skills, making her a beast in comparison to these Golems.

The auras of the Golems now shone blue, as their strength was nothing in her presence, her crimson aura burning fiercely as she darted across the battlefield with quick speeds, her blades shining with reflected light as she slashed and cut through the horde of Golems, her figure a blur of speed.

The Golems slowly fell one by one, their bodies crumbling into a mess of rubble that slowly faded into gold particles.

’These skills are very powerful, I feel like a beast when I’m using these. Hahaha!’ Zoey laughed inwardly, her pride coming from the [King’s Fury] skill as a huge sense of confidence entered her being, making her feel unstoppable at how easily she was dealing with the Golems.

’Wait, no no no, not again…’ Zoey shook her head as she dodged a blow from a Golem, leaping gracefully in the air as she landed on the ground with a graceful backflip.

’I need to stay focused, I can’t let my guard down, I need to conquer this skill.’ Zoey thought as her determination soared, her [Hardened Will] skill responding with her emotions as her power flared up even more.

’There’s a few Golems left, I should take care of them quickly.’ Zoey thought as she dashed with [Grace Of The Wind], a flurry of sword slashes filling the air as Zoey cut through the Golems at blind speeds, reappearing behind the Golems as they all fell.

’Ooo~Nice!’ Zoey thought as she heard the notification, smiling to herself as she opened her [Inventory] to check out the [Stone Carved Shield].

’Oh? Not bad.’ Zoey grinned as she took out a [Stone Carved Shield], the shield was really carved from stone, glowing with a warm golden glow. Zoey had stuck her [Knight’s Oath] sword into the ground as she examined the shield in her hand a bit, it didn’t really feel heavy, even if it were made out of pure stone, it was pretty light.

Her high strength was defiantly coming in handy here, as she wondered how much she’ll be able to lift with her arms, but that wasn’t really important.

’This should come in handy later.’ Zoey thought as she stored the [Stone Carved Shield] in her inventory, before kneeling down to pull out her [Knight’s Oath] Sword. Just then, shortly after the last remains of the Golems had disappeared , more portals started to appear.

The portals manifested as they spun in a circular motion, the Mana radiating from them being tougher and more denser than the ones that came before them.

’Looks like the second wave is starting.’ Zoey thought as she adjusted her grip on her [Knight’s Oath] and [Void Requiem] swords, a gush of wind blowing from her face as more powerful Golems stepped out of the portal.

The strength the aura exuded was definitely more powerful than the ones that came before them, as behind the Golems, a far larger, more intimidating, Golem came out a huge portal.

’The Boss already?’ Zoey thought as she glanced at the Boss Golem, noticing how talk it was in comparison to the others, this one was formed out of a majestic blue marble stone, but it’s beauty did not contrast with it’s strength, as the Aura of the Golem was white, while the rest of the lesser Golems were blue, meaning that it was on par with Zoey in terms of strength.

The portals soon stopped manifesting as the second wave had begun, the room was full of Golems that stood ahead of Zoey, as well as the Boss Golem that towered above them.

’If the Boss is white in aura, then it’s definitely close to me in strength.’ Zoey thought, a cold sweat breaking out at the side of her face. Though she was definetly stronger than most of the Golems, and could definetly take down the Boss, she was worried about something else.

Dungeons could be anything, as stepping into one is entering a whole new world where monsters thrive and treasure bloom. However, dungeons don’t always stay the same in difficulty and scaling, as the higher your rank, the stronger the monsters, the more the floors, and the better the treasures.

Right now, Zoey was a High-Ranking Hunter, meaning that she was in the realm of C-to-B Rank, and dungeons of this level are far more difficult than the dungeons in the lower rankings. Dungeons of these types have more floors, more than one Boss, and a Lord at the end of the Dungeon, which is far stronger than the Boss.

’Will I be able to take it down?’ Zoey questioned herself, she was definetly confident in her strength, as she was improving rapidly in comparison to others.

Dungeons of this difficulty are usually taken down by a mass raid of Hunters, as you would have to be very strong to take it them down by yourself. But even then it isn’t easy, as even powerful Hunters could come out heavily injured, and some could even die.

’I’ll make it through. I can do this, I don’t need support right now.’ Zoey thought as a determined expression formed on her lips, she quickly glanced back at the dungeon entrance, which was glowing faintly.

’If I can’t handle this, I’ll just make a run for it.’ Zoey thought, as she dashed towards the Golems, striking several down with her power slashes that tore through the Golems, stone and rocks blowing everywhere as the force behind Zoey’s attacks was immense.

’These guys are no problem…my main problem is..’ Zoey stared the Golem Boss as she moved with quick speeds, her feet pounding against the ground as her figured blurred with her speed. Her eyes widened as the Golem Boss snapped it’s rock-like head at Zoey, a grinding sound coming from it as it’s eyes glowed with a powerful golden light, intensifying as the seconds dragged on.

’!!!’ Zoey saw the Golem Boss’s eyes flash as a powerful beam of light pierced the wind and neared Zoey. She quickly leaped out of the way, rolling on the floor as the lazer beams continued to chase her, multiple Golems being cut in half by the reckless fire of it’s lazers as Zoey continued to dash and dodge the beams.

’That’s a dangerous Skill!’ Zoey thought as she dodged a Golem’s blow, leaping backwards. Her breaths were starting to become a bit heavier as her Stamina was starting to get affected by the duration of the battle.

’Damn it!’ Zoey thought as she leaped high into the air with [Grace Of The Wind], the lazers of the Golem Boss missing her by just a hair as it almost it her.

She flipped gracefully in the air as she observed the lazers destroy another set of Golems, an idea forming in her mind.

’That could actually work.’ Zoey thought as a knowing smile bloomed on her face, her figure landing on the ground with a heavy impact as the ground shattered, a small crater forming beneath the soles of her feet.

[Stamina: 68%]

’68% huh? It’s already affected this much? This could be a problem, as we’re only on the second wave as of now. Hopefully my Stamina doesn’t reach 0% too quickly, otherwise I won’t be able to move.’ Zoey thought with a sigh.

[Mana: 30%]

’Using [Hardened Will] and [King’s Fury] constantly is starting to dwindle my Mana pool as well, I need to conserve Mana as well. In the meantime however,’ Zoey thought as she exhaled sharply, deactivating [Hardened Will] and [King’s Fury].

’I’ll start replenishing my Mana with [Concentrated Breathing], as the Mana is quite rich here.’ Zoey thought as she activated the Skill, taking a deep breath as Mana smoothly entered her lungs, beginning to replenish her Mana at fast speeds as the effects of the max-levelled skill was very good.

The Golems marched as they moved toward Zoey, the ground trembling with every step they took.

’My attacks will be pretty useless now, as I can’t damage them with my swords anymore, not until my Mana regenerates to a good amount first, then I can use my two Skills.’ Zoey thought as she took in another deep breath, taking more and more Mana into her lungs with concentrated breaths.

“Hey! Big guy!” Zoey called as she waved her hands above her head to get the Golem Boss’s attention, the Golem Boss slowly turned it’s head as it locked onto her. Zoey grinned playfully as a shock of excitement flowed into her veins.

She quickly cast [Fireball] as a flame launched from her palm and towards the Golem Boss’s face, igniting a fierce explosion that covered it’s face in hot smoke. The attack of course was ineffective, but damage wasn’t the main reason behind her attack, as she continued to blast fireballs at the face of the Boss, before stopping a bit as she panted slightly.

’Hehe~’ Zoey smirked in delight as she saw the Golem Boss’s eyes lit up with a golden glow.

’Looks like it worked.’
