A few tense shoulders eased.

“But understand this,” he continued, golden eyes sharpening and unleashing a vast amount of pressure, “I will not tolerate attempts to undermine her rule. Nor schemes dressed as tradition.”

He paused, letting the silence stretch.

“If you celebrate her strength, you have my respect. If you challenge her authority…”

A faint smile curved his lips.
