When Jax stepped forward, the platform beneath his boots resonated. A soft wave of pressure went out, once again silencing the entire Capital, an instinctive silence as everyone saw their King take the stage.

Millions of demons, all of whom are different species from Vampires to Fallen angels and more all felt the same feeling at once, the subtle compression of will, the way space itself leaned inward, listening.

No-one dared to even breathe too loudly and inadvertently draw Jax’s attention. Even the ambient hum of mana circulation across the city seemed to lower itself in deference.

Jax stood at the threshold of the Cathedral, framed by obsidian spires and crimson sigils that did not glow.

His golden eyes swept across the endless cityscape, the plazas packed beyond capacity, the layered balconies, the floating platforms suspended by gravity-defying arrays, the rail lines visible in the distance like veins of light.

Every species. Every caste. Every survivor of Demonkind’s long humiliation at the hands of the Holy Goddess of Light and her reverent followers.

When he spoke, his voice carried for everyone to easily hear, “Look at what stands beneath your feet.”

“For generations uncounted, Demonkind has been driven back. Cornered and slaughtered by the followers of the Goddess of Light and her followers. Labeled monsters by gods who never bled and heroes who never understood all of your struggles,”

A low rumble of agreement spread through the crowd. People clenched their hands out of frustration, remembering old wounds and their fallen comrades over the years.

“You were told to survive quietly, to hide and to accept annihilation as not one of the potential results, but your fate in this life,”

Jax’s gaze hardened as he continued.

“I reject that.”

The pressure in the air sharpened, not oppressive, but clarifying, like cold water thrown over a sleeping mind.

“This Capital is not a refuge,” Jax continued, “Nor is it a shelter built in fear. It is not a compromise for any of us,”

He raised one hand, palm open, and the city responded.

Mana surged through the infrastructure in perfect harmony. Rail lines brightened. Towers pulsed once, in sequence, like a heartbeat rippling outward. The Cathedral itself resonated, sigils flaring briefly before settling again.

“This,” he said, “is a foundation.The first step toward something Demonkind has been denied since the beginning of this long, senseless war,”

His eyes burned brighter, “Freedom.”

The word hit like a strike.

Roars erupted instantly, ragged, furious, hopeful. Wings snapped open and the tails of various Demons lashed. Demons who had known nothing but retreat felt something unfamiliar coil in their chests.

Pride and Aspiration!

Jax let it crest before continuing.

“This city was built with the goal of giving you all the best possible lives, to sustain and strengthen all of you, so that even when times are tough, we need not to rely on borrowed mercy or divine scraps, but instead rely on our own strength, and belief in our Goddesses,”

He gestured outward, encompassing the districts.

“Here, every race has land suited to their nature. Every citizen has access to water, transport, shelter, and law. No noble parasites or priestly extortion. Everyone has the opportunity to become strong,”

A ripple of dark laughter spread, “Your taxes build your defenses and your commerce funds your future. Your labor strengthens your people,”

The crowd roared louder now, anger transmuting into something sharper. Purpose.

“This Capital,” Jax said, his voice lowering, “is also a weapon.”

Silence fell again.

“A fortress from which we will defend ourselves, and from which we will strike back

.”

He turned slightly, pointing toward the distant horizon beyond the city’s outer rings.

“The Heroes believe we will cower behind walls. The kingdoms believe they can starve us, bleed us, erase us.”

A thin smile curved his lips.

“Let them come.”

The Cathedral’s sigils flared faintly in response.

“This city will not fall. It will endure sieges that last decades. It will supply armies indefinitely. And from its gates will march forces that no divine blessing can save them from.”

He straightened fully.

“And now,” Jax said, “it is time to name it.”

The moment stretched, breath held by millions.

“This city shall be known as Aeternum Noctis.”

The name echoed unnaturally, reality itself engraving it into memory.

“The Eternal Night.”

A city that would not fade. A darkness that could not be purged.

Cheers erupted, deafening and feral. The sound rolled across the Capital in waves, reverberating through towers and plazas alike.

Jax let it burn. Then he raised his hand once more.

“Bring her.”

The cheers faltered, curiosity replacing fury.

From the Cathedral’s great doors, Sabrina emerged.

She walked with measured grace, her expression composed, professional—but what followed behind her drew every eye.

Chains.

Not mundane iron, but layered bindings of crimson mana and obsidian script, each link etched with authority sigils that suppressed power, intent, and escape alike.

Natasha.

The Hero was dragged forward between two enforcers, her wrists bound, her neck encircled by a restraint collar that glowed faintly with Jax’s mark. She was dressed simply, stripped of armor and symbols, her once-proud posture forced downward by the weight of binding.

She winked at Jax, playing along as she had given herself to him, while to the crowd who didn’t know what went down between them, a collective snarl rose.

Some recognized her instantly while others felt her status as a Hero instinctively. Jax stepped closer to the edge of the platform, standing above her.

“This,” he said calmly, “is Natasha.”

Boos erupted, alongside screams and howls. Centuries of hatred found a target.

“She is a Hero summoned by the Divine Goddesses,” Jax continued. “One of those who butchered your cities. Slaughtered your kin. Carried divine authority while calling it justice.”

The crowd’s fury spiked violently.

“And she is mine.”

The words cut through the noise like a blade.

“She is the first Hero captured,” Jax said, gaze unwavering. “The first proof that they are not invincible. That their gods cannot protect them.”

He looked out over Demonkind.

“She will live right here, captured by me and under whatever will I impose onto her, and she will stand as a reminder of what happens when Heroes step into my domain.”

The chains tightened once, eliciting a sharp gasp from Natasha, heard even over the roar.

“Let them see her,” Jax finished. “Let them remember.”

The cheers echoed out, and Jax allowed all of that to go on before raising a hand, calming them down.

He stepped into the Throne Room prepared in the Cathedral, still allowing everyone to see him through using a Mana Projection spell.

“Finally, a King needs a suitable Throne,” Jax said, summoning the Throne of Dominion – A magnificent black & red throne appearing right in the Throne Room, a pulse of magic sweeping through everyone, and Jax finally sat on the Throne, his senses expanding across the entire Demon Kingdom.

“Now, We are a True Kingdom!”
