Chapter 58: A Shocking Meeting!

After the incident, Jax returned to the Cathedral instead of going to another one of the Clan’s for an introduction, deciding to relax himself for a bit and check his Ledger of Fate to track what was going on.

When he reached back, he immediately checked the Ledger, and made sure everything was still going on track, and there was no problems, calming him.

Now, he was in his personal chamber, moonlight filtering through its high, arched windows, silver illumination spilling across dark stone walls etched with demonic runes that pulsed faintly in rhythm with his presence.

Jax lay sprawled back against the massive bed carved from obsidian and living wood, his broad frame relaxed but never truly unguarded. One arm rested loosely around Serika, who was half draped across his chest, her smaller body fitting against him as if she belonged there by right.

She slept deeply.

Her Fox Ears brushed lightly against his collarbone, breath slow and even, fingers curled into the fabric of his robe as though afraid he might vanish if she let go. Her Fox Tails were wrapped around his leg possessively, the tip twitching now and then in her sleep.

Jax looked down at her for a long moment, smiling at how much she clung to him.

There was something grounding about this, about the contrast between the destruction he had unleashed earlier and the quiet intimacy of now.

A faint exhale left him, somewhere between amusement and contemplation, “Sleep,” he murmured softly, brushing a thumb along her hair.

Serika shifted slightly, pressing closer, murmuring something unintelligible before settling again.

Jax leaned back into the pillows, eyes half-lidding and just as he was about to sleep and have a nice night of rest, something happened.

The world tilted

. A sudden, sharp pull tugged at his consciousness, bypassing physical sensation entirely and going straight for his mind.

Jax’s eyes snapped open.

The chamber was still there. Serika still slept, undisturbed, her breathing unchanged. No wards had been triggered. No alarms rang.

Yet something was wrong.

Golden light bled into the edges of his vision.

“Ah,” Jax muttered, recognizing the sensation instantly, “So that’s how you want to do this.”

His body remained in the bed, unmoving, but his perception was torn free, dragged through layers of space and meaning until the material world peeled away like shed skin.

Then, he was suddenly standing somewhere else.

The ground beneath his feet was smooth and reflective, like polished marble infused with liquid sunlight. The sky above was not a sky at all, but an endless expanse of radiant gold and white, layered with drifting sigils and slow-moving halos of scripture that rotated lazily through the air.

Every breath carried pressure.

Holy power saturated the space so densely it would have crushed most beings instantly, purifying body and soul down to nothing.

Jax stood unaffected.

His demonic authority unfurled instinctively, not in aggression, but in equilibrium—an opposing law asserting itself simply by existing.

“Interesting venue,” he said calmly, golden eyes scanning the space. “A mental convergence domain? Or a neutral conceptual layer?”

A soft laugh answered him.

“Straight to analysis,” a voice said, smooth and rich, carrying warmth and command in equal measure, “You truly are different, much better than those clowns I had brought here,”

Jax turned.

She stood several meters away, barefoot upon the radiant surface, bathed in soft divine glow, and he immediately recognized who it was from her aura and presence.

The Goddess of Light, Kayle.

She was breathtaking, there was no denying that.

The Goddess was tall and statuesque, her form sculpted with impossible perfection, every curve exuding divine vitality and overwhelming femininity. Long hair the color of spun gold cascaded down her back, shimmering as if lit from within.

Her skin glowed faintly, unmarred, flawless, and warm to the eye.

Her body was undeniably voluptuous, powerful in a way that blended grace and raw presence. She had wide hips, and a huge pair of boobs that were thinly hid by her clothing.

A thin veil of light formed her garments, clinging just enough to suggest rather than reveal, leaving nothing to the imagination and everything to awe.

A man of weaker will would’ve dropped on their knees and worshipped her perfect body instantaneously.

Wings of pure radiance rested folded behind her, vast and luminous, feathers composed of condensed light and divine law.

Her golden eyes met his, but Jax did not bow or kneel.

Instead, he cocked his head slightly and sighed.

“So,” he said flatly. “You finally decided to show yourself.”

Kayle smiled faintly, “I was hoping for a more… polite greeting.”

Jax snorted, “After you sent a glorified divine execution engine to kill me? This is polite.”

His gaze sharpened. “What game are you playing, Kayle?”

For a brief moment, the light around her flickered, not violently, but subtly, like a candle reacting to a draft.

“Straightforward as ever,” she said. “But you needn’t be so defensive.”

She gestured around them, the golden expanse shimmering. “You are safe here. As am I.”

Jax’s eyes narrowed, “Meaning?”

“This space exists outside direct causality,” Kayle explained calmly, “A mutually isolated dimensional overlap. You cannot harm me here.”

She met his gaze evenly.

“And I cannot harm you.”

Jax’s lips curled into a slow, dangerous smile.

“How reassuring.”

He folded his arms, “So this isn’t an ambush. That alone tells me this isn’t about revenge.”

“No,” Kayle agreed. “If it were, this conversation would not exist.”

Silence stretched between them, heavy with unspoken truths.

Kayle snapped her fingers, and a table appeared before them, two chairs on opposite sides with a cup of tea and a kettle.

Kayle then gestured to the table, “Have a seat, lets have a talk,” The Goddess said, taking a seat herself and drinking the tea, leading Jax to reluctantly sit down opposite her.

“What do you want?” Jax asked, staring at here intently.

“I won’t hold back, tell me what it would take for you to be my Knight. Whatever the Demon Goddesses gave you, I’ll double it,” Kayle said.
