Chapter 192: Early Morning Discussion!

The Faerie Realm did not experience morning the way most worlds did. There was no sudden sunrise or dramatic shift from darkness to light.

Instead, the sky slowly transitioned through subtle gradients of color, like an endless canvas being repainted by unseen hands.

Lavender faded gently into pale gold while soft emerald light rose from the forests below as the luminous flowers began their morning bloom.

Floating islands drifted lazily across the glowing sky, and within the palace gardens, thousands of tiny faerie lights began to stir like a waking constellation.

Inside the guest chamber of the palace, that same gentle dawn filtered through the open balcony doors.

Jax’s eyes opened quietly, groaning as he felt the incredibly comfortable bed. Then he felt the warmth pressed against his side, looking down and spotting Serika, curcled tightly against him like a small, warm fox.

He gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face and Serika made a small noise.

Her ears flicked, but she didn’t wake up, probably too exhausted from how Jax ravaged her last night, so he just chuckled and decided to allow her to sleep.

Jax carefully lifted Serika’s arm from his chest. The fox-kin instinctively tried to follow him even in her sleep, shifting closer as he moved.

Her tails tightened briefly around him and Jax paused. Then gently adjusted her position so she remained comfortably wrapped in the blankets.

But she remained asleep. Jax leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

Her ears twitched once, then she relaxed again. Satisfied, Jax quietly slipped out of the bed.

The cool morning air brushed across his skin as he walked toward the balcony. He stretched slightly, taking a deep breath.

The air of the Faerie Realm truly was different, he would definitely find a way to take this to the Demon Kingdom in some way.

After a moment of watching the sunrise over the glowing forests, Jax stepped back inside and dressed in the attire provided by the palace attendants.

It was simple but elegant. A dark tunic woven from enchanted silk and embroidered faintly with silver patterns resembling leaves and stars.

Once finished, he stepped quietly out of the room so as not to wake Serika. The palace corridors were peaceful in the early morning.

Only a few attendants moved through the halls.

Some faeries hovered near balconies watering glowing plants while others carried trays of fresh fruit and steaming tea toward various chambers.

Jax walked calmly along one of the open walkways overlooking the gardens below, greeting them as he moved on.

The morning light revealed even more beauty than the night had.

Vast orchards stretched across the valley.

Streams of crystal-clear water wound between fields of luminous flowers. Creatures of light fluttered lazily through the air. As he turned a corner near one of the upper terraces, he paused as he realized that someone was already standing there.

Queen Elyndra, to be exact.

She leaned gently against the railing of a balcony overlooking the valley below. Her long silver hair flowed freely in the soft morning breeze.

Her wings were partially unfurled behind her, glowing faintly in the rising sunlight and she was holding a delicate cup of steaming tea, looking relaxed, just like a regular person enjoying the morning.

Elyndra turned slightly as she sensed his presence and her green eyes met his, then she smiled.

“Well.”

Jax raised an eyebrow.

“You’re up early.”

She tilted her head playfully.

“I could say the same to you, Demon King.”

Jax walked closer.

“Habit.”

Elyndra nodded knowingly.

“Leadership rarely allows for lazy mornings.”

She lifted her cup slightly.

“Tea?”

Jax accepted the offered cup from the nearby table.

“Thank you.”

They stood together quietly for a moment, watching the sun rise across the endless forests of the Faerie Realm.

Finally, Elyndra spoke.

“I hope your accommodations were comfortable.”

Jax chuckled lightly.

“Comfortable is an understatement.”

Her smile widened slightly.

“I’m glad.”

She took another sip of her tea.

Then her gaze shifted thoughtfully.

“I assume you read the contract.”

Jax nodded.

“Every word.”

“And?”

“It’s excellent.”

Her wings fluttered faintly.

“That is reassuring.”

He looked at her directly.

“It’s also honest.”

For a brief moment, the Queen seemed genuinely pleased by that statement.

“That was the intention.”

She gestured toward a nearby terrace table where breakfast had already been prepared.

“Would you care to join me?”

Jax glanced at the spread, spotting fresh fruit and golden pastries, with crystal bowls of glowing honey, and warm bread that smelled incredible.

He smiled slightly, “Don’t mind if I do.”

They sat across from each other and for a while, they simply ate quietly, tasting the absolutely delicious food.

Naturally grown, magically enhanced ingredients had a richness unlike anything from the mortal world.

After several minutes, Elyndra set down her cup and looked at him curiously.

“There is something I have always wondered.”

Jax raised an eyebrow.

“Oh?”

She rested her chin lightly on her fingers.

“You are not originally from this world.”

Jax paused.

The Queen’s eyes sparkled with curiosity.

“Tell me about your home, Earth is it’s name right?”

She said the word slowly.

“As someone who has observed Terra for thousands of years… another world fascinates me.”

She tilted her head slightly.

“What is it like?”

Jax leaned back slightly in his chair.

“Well…”

He considered where to begin.

“It’s complicated.”

Elyndra smiled.

“I have time.”

Jax chuckled softly.

“Earth doesn’t have magic.”

Her eyes widened slightly.

“None?”

“None.”

She looked genuinely shocked.

“How does civilization function?”

“Technology.”

Jax reached for a piece of fruit.

“Machines, electricity, computers, aircraft and more,” Jax explained.

Elyndra blinked as she heard that last part, “You fly without magic?”

“Pretty easily.”

She looked stunned for a moment and then fascinated, “And your trains? I presume they’re all from Earth right?”

Jax grinned slightly and nodded, “Yeah,”

Elyndra laughed softly, “Now I’m jealous.”

She leaned forward again.

“Then tell me something else.”

Her green eyes softened.

“What do you miss?”

Jax paused. That was a harder question. He looked out over the glowing forests.

“Honestly?”

“Yes.”

He thought for a moment.

Then answered.

“Food.”

Elyndra blinked.

“Food?”

Jax nodded.

“Pizza.”

“Burgers.”

“Fried chicken.”

Her expression became adorably confused.

“I… do not recognize any of those words.”

Jax laughed.

“They’re amazing.”

She laughed too.

Then asked again.

“Anything else?”

Jax looked up at the sky thoughtfully, “Movies, music and video games.”

Elyndra raised an eyebrow.

“You had entertainment powered by machines?”

“Oh yeah.”

He smiled slightly.

“Earth had a lot of distractions.”

She leaned back thoughtfully.

“Interesting.”

Then she looked at him again.

“If you could bring one thing from Earth into Terra…”

She asked curiously.

“What would it be?”
