Chapter 92: Military Might!

Jax immediately decided to teleport to the Capital, space folding cleanly around him as the last prismatic sparks from Orianna’s familiar faded.

The Capital answered his return immediately.

Golden-black sigils flared into existence beneath his feet as he casted a spell, resolving into a royal transit array that carried him across layered distances in a single breath.

The world inverted, compressed, then expanded again, and Jax stepped out onto polished obsidian marble of the Cathedral once again, ready to go find Orianna.

“Your Majesty,”

Various guards saw the Demon King appear and bowed out of respect, waiting for any potential instructions due to his sudden appearance, but Jax just nodded at them and let them continue their work, and then a familiar presence surged toward him like a controlled storm.

“JAX.”

Someone called, his name rang out, clear and delighted, echoing through the Cathedral.

Orianna descended from the upper dais in a smooth, unhurried stride, her towering form radiant with barely restrained power. Rainbow-hued hair cascaded down her back like liquid aurora, her draconic horns catching the ambient light as if the Cathedral itself bent illumination to frame her.

She was smiling with noticeable excitement as she saw him, running closer.

“You came fast,” she said, eyes gleaming as she stopped before him. “I take that as approval.”

Jax chuckled. “I take it as you baiting me.”

Her grin widened, “And it worked. Thank god you came here quickly,”

She turned sharply, gesturing toward the great doors at the far end of the Cathedral. “Come on, we have a lot to get through,”

The doors responded before Jax even reached them.

Titanic slabs of reinforced stone and metal parted soundlessly, revealing the Capital beyond. The city was alive.

Not finished, far from it, but alive in a way few cities ever were, even at their peak.

Wide avenues stretched outward, some paved, some still in layered construction, but all meticulously planned.

Towering structures rose in various stages of completion, cranes and floating construct-arms moving with mathematical precision.

Demons of every race moved through the streets with purpose, builders, engineers, mages, logistics officers, civilians, all weaving together into a living organism.

Above, aerial lanes were already active. Winged units patrolled lazily, while heavy-lift platforms carried materials between districts. Mana conduits pulsed beneath translucent roadways, glowing faintly as power flowed efficiently through the city’s spine.

Orianna walked beside Jax, hands clasped behind her back, clearly enjoying his silence.

“Well?” she asked, glancing sideways. “Say it.”

“Yep, everything’s looking amazing, it should be finished soon as well, I can’t wait. The biggest delay is the construction of the trains,” Jax spoke and Orianna nodded as they duo continued walking.

As they moved deeper, the air subtly changed, as there was much less civilian traffic and more uniformed movement, filled with Military men in armor with their weapons, who respectfully greeted the duo.

Jax noticed something immediately as they moved closer to the Military Headquarters.

“Spatial Arrays are working quite well it seems like,” he noted.

Orianna’s tail flicked with satisfaction, “Yep, every part of the Capital is loaded with these Spacial Arrays. Gives us way more space to operate in reality,”

The Military Headquarters revealed itself gradually, not as a single building, but as an entire region.

A vast expanse unfolded before them, far larger than the Capital itself should have allowed. Reality bent gently at its borders, space folding inward and downward, creating depth upon depth without destabilization.

At the center stood the Command Citadel.

A colossal fortress of black adamant and living dragonsteel, its surface etched with glowing crimson-gold sigils that pulsed in rhythm with the heartbeat of the ley lines below.

Massive spires rose from its core, each one doubling as a command relay, battlefield observation array, and, Jax felt it immediately, massive spell formations for both attack and defense in case of any emergency.

Orianna stopped and spread her arms wide proudly, “Welcome,” she said, “to the backbone of your empire.”

Jax exhaled slowly.

“Now this… this is impressive,” He muttered as they entered through gates tall enough to admit titans.

Inside, the scale became even more absurd.

Training grounds stretched out in every direction, layered vertically through spatial manipulation.

Entire battalions drilled simultaneously across different planes of reality, each environment tailored to specific combat doctrines, urban warfare zones, Ancient terrain, anti-divine pressure chambers, vacuum arenas, high-gravity kill fields.

“Those formations look combat ready, you’ve done some nice work here,” Jax said, watching a dragonkin phalanx advance under sustained spellfire without breaking stride.

Orianna nodded. “Tier One and Two units are being pushed hard. Tier Three is undergoing specialization.”

She pointed toward a distant section where shadows seemed thicker, “That’s the covert operations wing. Assassins. Saboteurs and Information warfare.”

Another gesture, this time upward.

Floating platforms hovered above, each carrying massive artillery constructs, siege beasts, and arcane cannons still undergoing calibration.

“Anti-Hero weaponry,” she said casually. “Still refining the targeting matrices.”

Jax glanced at her, “Casually,” he said dryly.

She grinned and they moved deeper.

Barracks unfolded in modular clusters, each adapted to the physiology of its occupants. Demon infantry, abyssal beasts, vampiric auxiliaries (empty for now), even massive enclosures designed for entities that preferred not to be humanoid at all.

Supply depots followed, immaculate, automated, and terrifyingly efficient.

“Logistics win wars,” Orianna said simply. “So I made sure we never lose there.”

Finally, they reached the heart of the Citadel.

The War Hall.

A vast chamber where the floor itself was a living tactical map, constantly updating in real time. Holographic projections of the world rotated slowly above it, layered with threat vectors, resource flows, divine activity markers, and contingency branches numbering in the thousands.

Jax met her gaze as he saw all of this. Slowly, a sharp approving smile spread across his face,

“You’ve built exactly what I needed,” he said. “And more than I expected.”

Orianna’s eyes shone.

“Good,” she replied, “Because I can’t wait for us to destroy these phony heroes once and for all,”
