The moment Jax and Hydra stepped fully onto the central walkways, they could sense various changes occurring throughout the forest.

As they walked, a bridge woven with branches and glowing vines stretched out and formed in front of them, a clear pathway leading to their destination.

The bridge was spiraling gently around colossal trunks that rose like ancient pillars into the canopy above. Soft bioluminescent light pulsed faintly beneath their feet, responding to Jax’s presence

“I can feel them watching,” Hydra murmured, keeping her voice low as they walked side by side.

Jax’s stride never faltered. “Good.”

As they advanced, Dark Elves emerged from every level of the settlement. Rangers lined elevated platforms with bows unstrung but ready, their sharp eyes following every movement.

Alchemists stood in clustered terraces, robes marked with sigils of study and invention, some staring openly while others tried and failed to hide their curiosity.

Wardens in ceremonial armor formed orderly ranks near the base of the great gathering platform, their expressions serious but not hostile.

Even the Treants responded.

Massive wooden forms shifted subtly at the forest’s edges, roots settling deeper, branches leaning inward just enough to observe. Leaves rustled without wind, a low, ancient sound like breath being drawn.

At the heart of it all stood the central platform.

It was enormous, grown from the fused trunks of multiple ancient trees, its surface smooth and reinforced with living crystal veins that pulsed with steady mana. Thousands of Dark Elves filled the surrounding levels, rising in layers like an amphitheater carved from the forest itself.

Lyla stood at the center of the platform, hands clasped behind her back, posture straight and unyielding. She did not look nervous. She looked resolute.

When Jax and Hydra ascended the final steps, the murmur of the crowd gradually died away. Silence spread outward in waves until even the forest seemed to hold its breath.

Jax stopped beside Lyla.

She inclined her head slightly toward him, then turned to face her people.

“Clan of the Deepwood,” Lyla said, her voice carrying effortlessly through the mana-infused air, “you all know why we are gathered.”

Her gaze swept the crowd, “For centuries, our land has been violated and our forests have been poisoned. Our people endangered. The one responsible has been captured and will face judgment.”

A wave of resentment and anger rippled throughout the assembly, being grunting in frustration with memories of what happened.

“But,” Lyla continued, her tone shifting, “Today is not only about what was stopped. It is about who stopped it.”

She turned fully toward Jax.

“This,” she said clearly, “is Jax. Demon King of the Demon Kingdom. The one I swore fealty to. The one who answered when our borders burned.”

All eyes turned to Jax, who stepped forward, his golden eyes scanning the gathered Clan, taking in every face, every pulse of mana, every flicker of doubt and hope. His presence alone pressed down gently but undeniably, a weight not of oppression, but of certainty.

“I won’t waste your time,” he began, voice calm yet resonant, carrying to the farthest platforms without effort. “You don’t need flowery words.”

He gestured outward, toward the endless canopy surrounding them. “This forest is not just territory. It is home. Your Home, and I came here to prove that I am a King worthy of being the controller of this home,”

Several Druids stiffened slightly at that, eyes narrowing in interest.

“I did not come here to rule by fear,” Jax continued. “Nor to strip this land of its life in the name of war. If that were my intent, this forest would already be ash. Not like any of you can stop me if I wanted to,”

A quiet shiver ran through the crowd.

“I came because the Demon Kingdom is more than stone walls and armies,” he said. “It is its people. Every Clan matters, including yours, all your skills and traditions as well,”

His gaze lifted slightly, meeting the glowing eyes of the Treants at the forest’s edge. “And so does the land itself.”

“I will protect you,” Jax said simply, “Fuck useless promises. I will use my actions toensure you live long enough to choose your own future.”

He raised one hand, and the forest reacted instantly.

Mana surged upward from the ground, luminous threads rising like mist drawn toward his palm. The sigils embedded in the platform flared to life, not resisting, but amplifying his will. The air vibrated softly as layers of magic began to stack upon one another, intricate and impossibly vast.

“What you see now,” Jax said, voice steady despite the power gathering around him, “is proof.”

He closed his fingers slightly.

~BOOM!~

The spell detonated outward in a controlled wave.

Golden light erupted from the platform, rolling across the forest like sunrise made tangible. It did not burn. It did not scorch. Instead, it sank into the land itself, flowing through roots, soil, bark, and leaf alike.

The effect was immediate.

Blighted patches at the forest’s edge dissolved as corruption was stripped away at a fundamental level. Poisoned earth softened, darkened, and then burst with life as new growth surged upward. Trees thickened, their trunks expanding with deep, resonant creaks as ancient vitality was restored.

Flowers bloomed in explosive color, petals unfolding in seconds rather than seasons. Vines thickened and stretched, weaving themselves into stronger bridges. Bioluminescent plants flared brighter, their glow shifting into richer, healthier hues.

Creatures emerged cautiously from hiding, then more boldly as the wave passed. Birds took flight in startled flocks, their calls ringing out in joyous confusion. Insects swarmed in shimmering patterns, mana-rich and vibrant.

Even the Treants reacted.

Massive limbs flexed as ancient beings straightened, bark gleaming with renewed life. Deep, thunderous sounds rolled through the ground as roots drank deeply of the restored mana.

Gasps rippled through the Dark Elves.

Some fell to their knees. Others reached out instinctively, hands brushing leaves and bark as if to confirm what they were seeing was real.

Jax lowered his hand slowly as the magic settled, the forest now humming with vitality far beyond its previous state.

“This is not a one-time act,” he said, turning back to the Clan. “This is what my rule looks like.”

Silence followed.

Then an Elder stepped forward.

He was tall even by Dark Elven standards, his hair pure white and bound in ceremonial braids heavy with sigils of age and service. His robes bore the marks of countless councils, his mana old, deep, and steady as bedrock.

He planted his staff against the platform, the sound echoing faintly.

“We have seen tyrants,” the Elder said, voice rough but strong. “We have seen would-be saviors. Words are easy. Power is not.”

His gaze fixed on Jax. “But today, we have seen both restraint and strength.”

He turned slightly, gesturing toward Lyla. “We trust our Clan Head. She has guided us through famine, war, and loss without breaking the forest we swore to protect.”

He faced the crowd. “If Lyla says this man is a proper King…”

The Elder bowed his head toward Jax.

“Then we believe in him.”
