Chapter 11: Single Spell
“You guys can come out now, had to take care of that real quick, hope you don’t mind,” Zephyr chuckled whilst covering his mouth.
They slowly revealed themselves, as if a magician’s robe were being pulled off them.
“Oh wowzers, all of these people for me?” He clapped as an entire fleet of martial artists and mages appeared before him, all of them aiming their weapons at him and chanting spells getting ready to attack at any given moment. However, one person floated before them.
A bald man wearing an old magician’s robe, he might have been bald but he had one hell of a white beard, it reached all the way down to his knees.
His robe had different artifacts on it, possibly for protection or attack.
“Zephyr Valerius Severan,” The man spoke up, staring straight down at Zephyr who just seemed to be chilling.
“I hereby place you under arrest, comply, and you won’t be hurt—”
“BAHAHHAA,” Zephyr couldn’t help but laugh out loud, which shocked some of the soldiers and the man himself.
“Admiral Gideon…am I correct?” The man didn’t bother replying to his question at all.
“No answer? We’ll stick with baldy then—”
“You insolent brat! How dare you make fun of the admiral!” One of the front line mages screamed out of pure rage and hatred which made many others follow.
“Lets just fucking kill him!”
“We have numbers, he’s alone!”
“Baldy silence them before I eradicate every single person here,” As soon as Zephyr said those words everything turned silent. It was instant, the pure pressure emanating from his body would be able to kill a weak mage. It was bloodlust.
“Now listen here baldy, you should have brought the obsidian concord itself if you wanted a one percent chance of capturing me,” Zephyr chuckled whilst clapping however Gideon didn’t seem amused.
“You are a wanted criminal, so is every person that interacts with you and shields you, the boy you were with—”
“Now, let’s not cross the line,” Zephyr’s aura exploded outward like an atomic bomb making the entire fleet shocked.
“Are you threatening the order itself?” Gideon’s question made multiple of his soldiers turn towards him.
“Yeah, I’ll kill all the members of the order if I have to just to protect that kid,” He ran his hand through his hair as his bloodlust subsided a tiny bit.
“Why go that far—”
“I have my reasons, let’s hurry this thing up though, I don’t have all day,” Zephyr clapped as if asking for them to attack him.
“Attack! Kill him!” Gideon screamed without an ounce of hesitation, and the martial artists launched forward with their respective weapons and auras released.
The mages launched their spells, water, fire, stone, any element one could imagine.
They painted the sky in different colors and shades, almost like a professional painting.
However, it was futile and even the general knew that.
“Apotheosis Singularity,” Everything stopped, every spell, every movement froze. Not because time stopped, out of pure fear.
An enormous amount of mana was being released from Zephyr, and it was all getting compressed into the palm of his hand into a tiny ball.
“Catch,” he threw the ball forward. It was cataclysmic, the entire area exploded and was blown up, every single mage, every single warrior was executed, including Gideon, the spell was capable of warping reality itself if Zephyr used a good amount of compressed ambient mana.
However this spell…left behind a permanent dead zone.
Zephyr looked at the dead area in front of him, analyzing the scene, all someone would be able to say if they looked at what was left behind is that a fight occurred.
There was no trace of the fleet or the general at all, none.
Zephyr though, was completely unaffected.
“They’ll need more than that if they want to catch me,” He chuckled and disappeared slowly, fading away like an old memory.
—
“So, how do you prefer that outfit, Sir Klaus? This is the academy’s outfit every student has to wear,” Victor asked as he looked at Klaus who was analyzing his own outfit in multiple angled mirrors like he was a designer for a fashion brand.
“It’ll do,” He chuckled inwardly as he looked up and down in the mirror.
It was plain and simple just to his liking.
’For dudes it seems like it’s just a plain suit,’ He was wearing a simple black suit like outfit with a simple white shirt and black tie, on the right side of his chest was one single line and nothing else.
“I’m assuming that means I’m a first year?” He slowly turned toward Victor who just showed two thumbs up like an excited kid.
“Yes Sir Klaus, it also has a built in rune inside of it which allows you to enter your dormitory,” However he explained slowly, probably thinking Klaus was another meathead martial artist, which wasn’t even remotely close to the truth.
Klaus nodded clearly understanding everything.
“Isn’t that pretty shitty though? What if someone steals it,” His choice of words made Victor’s eye twitch, he didn’t say anything about it.
“It will be embedded with your aura meaning only you can use it,” After Victor’s explanation it made way more sense, however.
“Aura?” Victor turned his head at Klaus’s question.
“Yes, Sir Klaus, the aura martial artists use—”
“I don’t have aura,” Klaus’s sudden revelation made Victor’s smile drop as he stayed silent.
“…” His eyes looked blank as he just stared at Klaus who just slightly tilted his head not understanding his shock.
“S-Sir Klaus, are you a mage?”
“Yeah, if I don’t have aura I’m obviously a mage,” Klaus nodded with a bright smile, he was happy about not being a martial artist honestly, it didn’t suit him.
“A-A mage in the Alderstein family?” Victor’s expression was blank however his shock was very evident on his face, it was basically written on it.
“Mhm,” Klaus shrugged like it didn’t matter to him at all.
However, to Victor, this was huge news, since it just meant a possible generational talent had just joined their Academy.
