Anyways the competition was frankly pathetic as it was just bandits from various groups and Mordy himself. There was two notable standouts however. The first being the Hodunk asshole that raped Moxxi when she was thirteen and the second actually being a midget from the little league. Not one of the ascended ones thankfully as that would have been annoying to watch get murdered by Mordy but a member none the less. The competition was set into three different rounds with the first round being people versus other people to thin the numbers there.-

In that category Mordy played it smart and let most of them kill each other while he hung back at the far edge of the arena and sniped them one by one. Once the numbers were declared small enough the “contestants” got a five minute break to refuel and restock ammo before the next round. This time it was people VS animals as Moxxi released dozens of Skags, Rakk, Crab worms and Drifters into the arena that the people had to fight through. Mordy focused most of his attention on the Rakk since those were the biggest threat to him. –

Watching the midget from the league somehow climb a Drifter and rodeo style ride it around proved amusing if nothing else. The rest of that round was fairly boring though as once the numbers of beasts were lowered the bandits stopped struggling to survive and it was just an execution for the rest. I didn’t even bother being subtle as I drained the corpses of lifeforce from the stands. The league midget went absolutely ape shit in joy at watching it as his faith was proven before the masses. I decided to have a little fun and grabbed a few traits that I stuffed into the midget during the five minute break from the corpses.-

Nothing that would interfere with his ability to compete like fixing his dwarfism but a few body traits, a vitality trait and of course an elemental body resistance combo in the flavor of shock. That last one REALLY came in clutch in the final round as some fucking how Moxxi had managed to capture Seraphs to use as the final rounds enemies. The normal bandits did NOT have a good time with these things as most of the scrubs that had made it this far were wiped out almost immediately. –

Moxxi apparently got annoyed with the Hodunk members survival to this point and flat out announced a reward for whoever killed him, an extra one if they shot him in the dick first. Mordy was moments away from doing exactly that when the league member showed up and straight up ripped the poor bastards dick off before electrifying him to death. Mordy looked like he wanted to shoot the leaguer but just sighed before turning his gun on a different bandit instead. Most likely because he thought I’d get offended if he killed my midget.-

In truth I only boosted up the midget at all to make this affair more interesting and challenging for Mordy. A competition where there was no real competition was boring after all. Still I certainly wasn’t going to clarify this since in the end they’d have to fight to determine a winner. There was a sort of unspoken agreement between the midget and Mordy after that as they stayed out of each others way to kill off the other competitors and Seraphs. At the end of the round, the finals if you’d prefer, they finally met in the center of the arena to settle the winner.-

The fight was both entertaining and fairly close as I had given the midget a few copies of [Gun expertise] from the corpses of other bandits along with his body traits. Mordy still held an edge but the clash was by no means one sided like it would have been otherwise. The midget would dodge the swooping talons of Bloodwing while maintaining cover to keep Mordy from sniping him as he got closer and closer to him. Bloodwing also couldn’t put out her usual level of interference as her shield had taken several bullets and she was getting dangerously close to it breaking and risking real injury.-

You could tell Mordy felt the pressure as he had sweat dripping from him not just from the heat of the air but the effort he needed here. In the end he got lucky as Bloodwing got in the midgets way as he was dashing to his next piece of cover letting Mordy get off a clean shot to the dome. The midget barely had time to register he was dead before a phase lock bubble saved him and he teleported to my side perfectly fine.-

“I believe we all know who won here. No need to waste a talented followers life anymore, no?” I spoke casually but loud enough for everyone to hear.

“Winner, Mordecai and Bloodwing!” Moxxi announced without pause as she was perfectly ok with this outcome even if technically it should have been a death match.

Mordy on the other hand looked downright relieved that he didn’t actually kill the midget before raising his hands in victory. As promised Moxxi handed out the prize money, the chests of loot and the offer of a date. For my midget who was busy prostrating to me in worship she offered a voucher for a lifetimes free use of the Catch-A-Ride stations as thanks for killing the Hodunk in a satisfying manner.-

It would have been a years worth originally but for ripping off the poor dudes dick she bumped the reward up a lot. I mentally had to applaud her for her clever prize as the average life expectancy of a Pandoran midget was only about forty if they weren’t killed. After that their bodies tended to break down faster and faster until they just can’t survive anymore.-

For the ones who are also bandits well their life expectancy was not great at all. This prize would certainly be valuable in a more civilized place and for a normal person but for a midget? On Pandora? Not really a big reward at all. Of course I was going to fix the guys dwarfism soon enough so the reward would be worth a bit more from that but it barely cost Moxxi anything either way. A few bandits who were dissatisfied from me saving the midget from death thought to “fix” that afterwards only to get literally ripped apart as an example to the others who thought trying my patience was a good idea.-

“Not going to lie man. I felt the pressure there towards the end.” Mordy said after settling things with Moxxi for now.

“That was the point. This was supposed to be a competition not a one sided beatdown. Either way neither of you would have died in the end as I would have saved either of you at the final moment, as I did. As an added bonus the league’s reputation will grow way faster as word of my display of power here spreads. A cults only fun to laugh at when their god isn’t actually real.” I said with a grin.

“Yeah, wouldn’t be surprised if things went much smoother from now on for the league. You might have some more trouble though as some of the bandits try to prove you aren’t actually a god.” he said and I shrugged.

“That’s just more lifeforce and potential traits for me then.” I said casually.
