Once the giant beast was dusted and gone the cavity felt empty and hollow which was fair. The Eridian ruins in this cavity were rather concentrated as there was a single chamber with a glowing stoned pyramid. On it was close to twenty or thirty red chests that must have been the loot stash of that Captain Blade fellow. I let Vater and the league have it as a reward for all their hard work. The pyramid itself was of great interest to me as I had no knowledge of any other similar instance of the aliens building such structures.-
To anyone less knowledgeable than I the thing would be a curiosity at best but I could tell it was not so simple. I didn’t care about the misleading surface layer and used my powers to carefully excavate a path into the thing and was rewarded for my effort. There inside the center of the pyramid was a single dimensional storage device like those used to allow the “spawners” to work. Unlike those however this one was clearly not meant to be found. It was a single object in the center of a bunch of stone that let out no signal or even had a single hint that it was here at all.-
When I returned to my house and hooked the thing up to my interface device I learned why the Eridians tried to hide it away like this. It was chalk full of the very same rare alloy that I needed to make tech on the same level as the EECM. It also explained why the leviathan was there for seemingly no reason as there wasn’t a vault down there, I checked.-
‘Rude fuckers didn’t want anyone getting their mitts on the good shit and put that thing there to keep people away.’ I thought amused.
I mean I couldn’t blame them as I had the blueprints of the stuff they made using this stuff and the EECM was on the lower end of that spectrum of bad for literally everyone else. Take for example one of those weapons that I mentioned a while back capable of wiping out whole solar systems. Why the Eridians, pacifists that they were, would design and make such a thing was beyond me but it was there in the vast library of tech in my head.-
I had no intention of making such a thing though as that was an open invitation to the rest of humanity to try and do the same. Assuming the collective whole of humanity doesn’t declare open season on my ass for crossing that line to begin with. The piece of tech I was more interested in amongst this vast library of mine was the Eridian biomedical restoration apparatus, EBRA for short. It was mostly made out of standard Eridian metal but the vital computing parts needed this other alloy.-
What it did was analyze and compile a full digital blueprint for whatever was put within it. It then diagnosed the ailments of the creature and calculated the ways to fix them at a rate of several billion per second. Then if linked to a well stocked fabrication unit printed out the exact treatment materials needed and then performed the procedure. To say it was an auto-doc would be a massive understatement as this thing could as far as I know prolong quality living until the creature it was treating ran out of lifeforce. This piece of tech would be able to save anyone so long as they possessed even the tiniest sliver of life.-
Using it I could put my company at the very apex of medical cutting edge lightyears ahead of even the closest competitor. I only needed ten of these things at most to treat thousands of patients a day for even the most troublesome of diseases. There were a few other interesting pieces of tech needing this alloy as well. But those were more selfish in nature and would come later as right now most of my focus was in preparing to take over Atlas and explode my company onto the galactic scene.-
I didn’t hesitate to transfer all the alloy to my own fabricator so I could use it as I pleased now. I was in such a good mood I even publicly ascended another two midgets in front of the rest of the league letting them see their possible reward for themselves. If they were believers before they were nearly fanatics after this display of power. Even the few “normal” people that had joined the cult from the town were fervently worshiping me. As for Vater I figured he deserved an extra special reward so I gave him the [Titanism] trait I got from the leviathan. If before that he could be likened to a mountain but was in fact just really large now he was in fact mountainous in size.-
I had to even dial it back a few times with a couple [Dwarfism] traits to get him to a more reasonably eleven feet tall. Still he was a mass of muscle of a massive size that could easily use a tree as a fucking club if he wanted to. Doorways and houses would be very awkward for him now but he was genuinely powerful now and thus stood out even among the ascended as something special. –
It wouldn’t do in my opinion for him to stop being seen as such in the league as more and more midgets get ascended over time. Despite his new size however Vater wasn’t nearly as strong as Brick who was considerably smaller and that was intentional. I didn’t want him to get a big head(metaphorically) and think he was better than my friends or gods forbid myself. He seemed fairly grounded even as he towered over me but I just wanted to careful either way.
