Edrick muttered to himself as he looked down upon a newly hired maid’s bare back. She was lying flat on her stomach, breathing heavily with her head buried into the same pillow she was hugging tightly. Her new master’s lustful serpent was lying in between the valley formed by her two lower mounds, and his great elixir not only leaked from her gaping caverns, but covered her back and hair as well.

This was how he conducted the final part of the recruitment process.

A servant crest manifested upon her back, marking her acceptance as a trainee maid into the residence… Anoteros would go from one room to the other in the temporary lodging area, where those who had completed the interview would stay, and where he would ‘test’ them.

Just like the first batch, these ones had no problem with them. So far, Yaling had been doing a good job, only keeping the good ones. There had been one of them who had not been like the others. Which he had been told about ahead of time, though… The Headmaid Assistant had been uncertain if he would be into a woman of this youth.

He appreciated the thought, but it had been a useless one. Edrick had greatly enjoyed the tightness of the new hire’s pits. Claiming her purity had been a most enjoyable experience. It wasn’t every day that you could bed a girl like her.

In any case, approving the hiring of new maids was only a small thing. He got it out of the way first thing upon returning to the world outside Eltysia… It was more important to check on the progress of Fanqia’s pregnancy–And indeed, he had been gone for a little while, as her stomach had begun rounding up quite noticeably.

It was definitely bigger than it should be at that stage, though. Edrick was no expert on pregnancy, but he presumed that this might be due to the fact that she was carrying twins. In any case, his first wife had turned into a whole milk factory. She could pump milk all day long out of her calcium cannons, and for some reason, she had really wanted her husband to try drinking it directly from the source.

Anoteros certainly did not mind it, and as it turns out, her milk carried the Velvet Pixie blessing. This was to say that once these babies were born, they would be eating very well, especially since their mother had an endless supply of the stuff.

If this was the sort of production she had for just two babies, then it was quite frightening to imagine what her body would decide was an ‘appropriate’ amount for more than two… With how the fertility of Anoteros and his wives was basically through the roof, it wasn’t unlikely at all that he would end up with triplets–Or even more… The odds were certainly higher for them than for other people. That was for sure.

In any case, everything within his residence was just fine, so after giving his wives some well-deserved attention, Anoteros decided to pay a visit to Zhicheng. His younger Alrin was the protagonist of a script, after all…

Before doing so, however. Edrick swung by Lui’s residence and learned that Zhicheng’s crush–Zhenluo–Was actually in the clan at the moment. She had just returned from a lengthy training period at the Cult Of The Heart Of Darkness… It was the sect she was closest to and from which she pulled her cultivation techniques.

Anoteros decided to go and meet her. She was his older Alrinir, but even the former Zixuan Elt had never actually seen her. Zhenluo was only older by a few years, but she had already been deep into cultivation and away from the clan for the most part, even back then.

Her residence was actually quite small and cosy-looking, but considering that it seemed to extend into the side of a mountain, he could only guess that it was actually much larger than the outside implied. 

In any case, true to her affiliation, the area was dark, shaded by tall trees with dark-grey bark. The leaves seemed to feast upon light, ironically making the place quite noticeable as a pocket of darkness in the middle of the day.

The noble approached the dark residence and knocked on the door. It did not take long for a female servant to open the door. She was wearing a blank, smooth black mask over her face.

Recognising Edrick as an Elt scion, she bowed and respectfully asked him the reason for his presence.

He merely responded that he was here to see Zhenluo, which prompted the servant to tell him to wait for a moment as she went to inform her master of his visit–And a few minutes later, she returned and invited him in.

It did not take long before Edrick was seated in a dark room across from a woman with a nice, shapely figure. A symbol was depicted in black upon her forehead–The symbol of the Cult Of The Heart Of Darkness.

Dark hair, dark eyes, a generally off-putting presence… There was no doubt about it, this was an Elt.

“Zixuan. I don’t think we’ve ever spoken, despite being Alris… What brings you here today, exactly?”

“Do I need a reason to pay a visit to my Alris? I thought that we could discuss a bit”

“Mmh… And what would you like to discuss? I am afraid that I am not considered a great conversation partner”

“I am sure you can be a great partner in other domains, though”

“Oh… How bold. We’ve barely sat down, and you are already flirting with your older Alrinir? Is your aim to produce offspring with me? If so, I will have to decline for now. My cultivation is too important for me to pause it”

“I am not here for that, even though I certainly wouldn’t mind… I just wanted to speak about the Cult Of The Heart Of Darkness. I am seeking to learn and establish good relations with each of our subordinate sects, you see… And I figured that I could learn about this one from you whilst we caught up”

“…I see. Good relations with each of our subordinate sects? That is a good idea. Though… What could we possibly catch up on?”

“I suppose we could just exchange anecdotes and speak about the clan. For example, we have a younger Alrin in the clan at the moment. Do you know Zhicheng in any capacity?”

“Zhicheng? I do think that I ran into him a handful of times in the past when I would come back to the clan grounds… Not a very remarkable fellow in the realm of cultivation, I would see him with a better use… Elsewhere”

She did not elaborate on what she meant, so Anoteros changed the subject.

“By the way, why are you back at the clan?”

“I have procured myself some pure essence of darkness. I am planning on absorbing it, and I need to be in my best state of mind for this. As much time as I spent at the sect grounds, my own residence is where I feel most comfortable–And since it will take a long time to fully absorb the essence, I figured that I might as well have all of my servants at my disposal to make things more enjoyable”

“…By the way, you seem to be rather… Rich in bloodlines. You must know a few things about absorption, right?”

“I suppose you could say that…”
